More heat for Rick Warren, btw...

The Blend is cited in this piece critical of Warren by Associated Baptist Press...

Warren said he is "totally oblivious" to gay-marriage debates going on in other states and rated the issue "very low" in his hierarchy of important public-policy debates.

Warren's comments reopened the battle lines drawn before the inauguration. One gay blogger called him a liar, while a Religious Right leader accused him of abdicating his biblical role as a pastor.

Pam's House Blend, an influential left-leaning blog that often reports on gay-rights issues, dug up a YouTube video message Warren recorded as an Oct. 23 posting on the Saddleback Church website. In it, Warren urges passage of Proposition 8.

"Let me say this very clearly," Warren said on the video. "We support Proposition 8, and if you believe what the Bible says about marriage, you need to support Proposition 8."

Yep, he's a liar. And the ABP tried to get a statement from Warren about this little problem, but...

Warren did not respond to an e-mail from an Associated Baptist Press reporter requesting comment by press time for this story.

Nom failed to show up on the ED show on MSNBC,

  They have been getting hit hard for their BS.  They got completely Bush Wacked on this ad.  1,5 million that will have zero impact or shock value.  

 They have cried wolf for long enough and they have nothing left, the same old tired ass lies, which have been debunked thoroughly.  They went down hill after claiming violence during the prop 8 protests when there were no christians in body bags.

Mashup replies to the NOM ad

Love the song, but the Weather Girls mashup was pretty lame.  The Keith-Judy-Ghostbusters one,  a bit sharper.  Still we wait for a hard-hitting rebuttal to this  storm clouds fear-mongering from a serious gay-rights organization with a counter ad.  

Making fun of it with a roll of the eyes and a snarky remark underestimates the damage this ad can do. The ad uses a favorite tactic of the right wing -- projection, tarring its opponents with its own bigoted motives.  In this ad it's those who would legislate discrimination who are the victims and gay people, advocating nothing more than full and equal rights, who have the militant agenda.

The anti-gay crowd so want to co-opt the victim role and the higher ground.   But they can not.  And we mustn't let them. The canard that they are the victims must be vigorously and loudly corrected every time it is attempted.

Calling one's organization "...Organization for..." implies a pro-active stance to empower, strengthen, and improve the object of "for."  Instead, NOM is for nothing, though stridently against civil marriage equality to bear false witness against those with whom they disagree.  Where is the moral authority within the LGBTQ and civil marriage equality movements to name the offenses of NOM and call them into repentance?

They're a laughingstock

I've seen a half dozen other parodies. NOM is filing DCMA orders almost as fast as they can, but even more parodies fly up.

This afternoon I heard Frau Blucher on NPR refusing to believe that young people weren't going to come around to her way of thinking. I have bad news for her, when parodying your advertisement is the latest viral internet meme, it's pretty certain you've lost the issue.

  I wouldn't be surprised if they don't air this ad and come up with some other twisted BS to air in its place.  They already have 1.5 mil into this failure.  

 This ad has been ridiculed everywhere.  If it does show up on the air, it will be a joke, Oh, that's that ad. bwahahaha

That's pretty hilarious!  

Even though it's no different than the Nazi's anti-Jew films, I'm sure they knew it was outrageous enough that it would draw criticism and put Maggie's persecuted face on TV.

Maggie should feel stupid: all that money blown on a video that didn't last but a couple days, when it could have been used to help families in need from her church, or anywhere else.

How do we make sure the actors in the video never work again.  Just like after prop 8, lets make sure there are career repercussions for supporting discrimination.  Find the names and black list them.

MSNBC Ran the new ED (Schultz) show in place of KO tonight, as KO and his crew at memorial for his mother.

At end of show he ran the NOM AD (after running a fun piece about Glenn Beck screaming that the Socialists, Marxists or whatever bad guys were coming)

He had David Smith of HRC on to discuss it (He did as bad a job as Joe S.... why didn't he ask Mike Signorile?) ...anyway he had also asked Brian Brown of NOM

WHO WAS A NO SHOW!!!  Wouldn't even come on to hype his ad.

NOM has its tail between its legs now!
