Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Fundie meltdown week wrap-up

by: Pam Spaulding

Sun Apr 12, 2009 at 00:40:32 AM EDT

It really has been quite a week, huh? Rick Warren caught with his pants on fire on Larry King, marriage equality blooming, fundies melting down at an unprecedented pace (and for Concerned Women for America, financial meltdown)...

If you search YouTube, you'll see tons of video rebuttals to the National Organization for Marriage's pitiful, lie-ridden ad that debuted this week. The fact-free fearmongering fell flat as NOM was ridiculed over and over, each of its points discredited. It was enough to make NOM's Brian Brown drop out of a Countdown Ed Schultz show appearance; I  guess he knew he was going to get scorched on live TV and bailed.

What a way to flush $1.5 million down the crapper. Think of the many homeless shelters and food banks that could have used that money to actually help people in need. If NOM cares so deeply about family values, it wouldn't have wasted all that scratch to produce that flaming pile of crap.

Another parody...no comment...

And of course, Rachel's smackdown on NOM's incredibly tone-deaf, clearly unGoogled acronym for its effort.

Here are a few links so you can savor the week's freakout of the right wing bible beating set.

This video, posted in an earlier thread, does a great job of shooting down each of the talking points delivered by the automatons in the NOM ad.

That Parody...

Woo-Hoo! They're Baaaack!
The NOM zombie audition tapes showed up at the bottom of the screen after I played the Rachel Maddow clip.

Check 'em out if you missed 'em first time around.

And a third NOM/KKK Comparison Video
I just made and posted my first YouTube video and thought I was being so original with a NOM/KKK theme.  Well, nothing's really original I guess.

Check out my NOM/KKK Video.  Lots of old images of hate from the 1920s:

A new public label the Fundies now have
The Fundies will now try to remove a new label, LIAR.  They don't proudly wear Bigot and Homophobe, but now have another they will have to try and remove. We  all have known they are liars, but Joe Solmonese of HRC pinned it on Maggie Gallagher during the Hardball appearance.

We have had discussions about that debate, and we all agree Maggie Gallagher is a loud mouth that shouts over her opponent on every appearance she is in.  Joe flat out called her a liar.  I think this time it really stuck.  I have watched that debate over and over a few times.  I watched it earlier today to see if I missed something.  Maggie Gallagher didn't like being called a LIAR and reacted.

Watch it again,

She is reacting to the fact of being called a liar and trying to remove it.  She added to it when she discusses the NJ pavilion case.   Then moves on to her big talking point, which is a complete fabrication.

Wear the Labels well as they fit so perfect, Bigot, Homophobe and Liar.  And they have until April 22 to try to remove it before Maine hears from the public on Marriage Equality.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

In the interest of accuracy...
... and to de-fuse a possible "See, those lefties aren't telling the truth", you might verify if Brian Brown did indeed cancel an appearance on Countdown. Perhaps he did, I didn't see all of the shows the last of the week.

I do know for a fact, however, that Brian Brown did not show up for a scheduled appearance on Ed Shultz's "The Ed Show" on MSNBC. On Wednesday, when the NOM ad was introduced, Ed Schultz talked about it, and ended with the announcement that HRC and NOM representatives would debate it the next day:
    http://www.edschultzshow.com/v...
Discussion starts at the beginning of the clip, announcement about the next day occurs at 5:38.

And then on Thursday, we watched the show, waiting to see the NOM guy get shredded. Ed interviewed David Smith of the HRC. Then, he called out Brian Brown for not showing up, even though he had been invited:
    http://www.edschultzshow.com/v...
Discussion about the ad starts at 6:23, and the mention of NOM starts at 12:12.

It was GREAT !!!!!! But who knows, they might be so desperate, they would stoop to saying "Brian Brown didn't cancel Countdown". And that might be true. Of course, they would probably forget to mention that he did cancel The Ed Show.

-Ted-

It was the ED show he bailed on
He did a special while Keith was taking care of things regarding his mother passing away.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Maggie Gallagher on Slime Magazine latest edition
A storm
A storm is clearing.  The first light of morning is bringing us hope for a better day.  We are not afraid.

Some one take it from here, I would have to watch the commercial, or auditions, another dozen times to do more.
And as should be clear to all, I do not have a way with words.

As a person who has trouble putting one word in front of another, I have one word for those auditions, awful.

I had to Google Nation of Marriage since nom.org took me to Nation of Men.  Google gave over 37,000,000 hits, number 5 coming back to Pam's.

Trusting that a website with an agenda tracks links taken from them I watched several of the parody/counter videos You tube listed after watching their ad.  Trusting that they track how you got there, a sidebar of links to wackos of current interest would be a nice addition to the blend.

More NON/KKK Video Responses
I'm new to Pam's blog and didn't realize I could imbed my video.  Here some images of fear and hate - past and present.

Welcome to Pam's
For your first video, You did a great job.  There is another youtube video of the KKK.  Many of the clips were taken from the history channel's KKK documentary, History Channel - Ku Klux Klan - A Secret History

I think this is the site I found a lot of footage from the documentary, but not sure as my other computer crashed and I haven't been able to get it fixed yet.

I remember there is a lot of footage of how the KKK used the bible to justify their actions.  As well as all the fear mongering that went on during those times.

The actions by NOM, and the other hate groups is basically the same as what the KKK did.

Again, great job on your first video.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Air America: Don't let them take "NOM" away
Air America has launched a campaign against the fundamentalists seizing and hijacking the word "NOM"

A storm has been gathering. It has to do with the use of the word "nom."

For years, on the Internet, "nom" has meant one thing: An onomatopoeic description of eating, usually, specifically, a cute animal eating. Sometimes a cute animal nibbling on another cute animal in a playful way. Here are some recent examples: playful fox on fox gnawing, a video of a cat eating a piece of broccoli , and an entire website devoted to "nomming."

However, recently, a group has tried to weaken that definition of the word "nom." The National Organization for Marriage--NOM--this week debuted an ad about gay marriage. It is stupid and lie-filled, with barely capable actors mouthing urban legends (see their audition tapes here) but because of the recent victories for gay marriage across the country, the ad has received a lot of attention on cable news.

And therein lies the danger: The danger that, by sheer dint of their own stupidity about marriage but genius about promotion, the National Organization for Marriage will hijack "NOM." Friends, we cannot let that happen.

Let's stand behind out friends at Air America. I always knew that the fundies would not be happy with just getting opposite sex marriage, now they want to take over our language as well. It's another step in their pernicious agenda to interject heterosexuality into all of our lives.
Fight back now!!!!

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Great roundup!!

Safe for kids and pets, yet kills "weeds" right down to their evil roots!

The Hardball video was awesome.
The host of the show didn't have a clue what Maggie was talking about. I love when he asked her how two married guys  upstairs would effect his own marriage. Her answer was total nonsense.

So now her position is that if gays can get married, then straight couples marriages will be less special. Gee... how selfish of us. How could we be so cruel to two people that we don't even know? And how exactly would these straight couples know about my impending marriage, since I'm not getting married at their church?
