Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

'Exhausted' Warren a no-show on This Week

by: Pam Spaulding

Sun Apr 12, 2009 at 13:15:00 PM EDT

UPDATE: Early this morning I received word on one of the listservs I'm on that Rick Warren bailed on his appearance on This Week:

George Stephanopoulos just announced that Rick Warren cancelled his appearance on the show moments before it was scheduled - his staff citing "exhaustion" as the cause.

And in fact the Saddleback pastor did pull a no-show -- here's the ABC transcript:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Happy Easter and Happy Passover. For those of you tuning in this morning expecting to hear from Pastor Rick Warren, we were too, but the pastor's representatives canceled moments before the scheduled interview, saying that Mr. Warren is sick from exhaustion. We hope he recovers quickly and we're going to turn instead to the hostage standoff off the coast of Somalia.

Also confirming is The Hill, heh heh:
Warren dropped out of the show after comments came to light that seemed to contradict the megachurch pastor's stated neutrality on Proposition 8, the California measure that banned same-sex marriage.

Warren said he had never endorsed the proposition, which passed by a narrow margin in November, during an interview last week on CNN. But a video of Warren offering an endorsement later hit YouTube, embarrassing Warren and his allies.

If I were Warren I guess I'd be really exhausted from all the serial lying he engaged in on Larry King Live this past week. Perhaps his flack Jim Anderson, who sent me an email on Friday defending the Saddleback pastor, should have gone on the air to explain it all away...

Also: Talk To Action's Bruce Wilson shares his thoughts with "Nobody Likes a Liar: Rick Warren's John Hagee Moment ?"

Experience has taught Rick Warren that he can get away with holding up Hitler youth, to Warren's church members, as a model of dedication to a cause. But, Warren may just have gone too far, because nobody likes a liar. As Larry King declared, "No matter what you think of Rick Warren, he's an extraordinary guy." Warren is indeed extra-ordinary, because ordinary Christian sensibility-as defined by the Ten Commandments that have helped shape Judaism and it's daughter religions, Christianity and Judaism-would commonly hold that it's at the very least unseemly to lie. Rick Warren appears to be under the impression that it's possible in this day and age to be filmed espousing one position, then declare on national television, that he had never done anything of the sort. And, why might Rick Warren think so ? Well, John Hagee got away with as much - though Hagee was careful in his statements to avoid, in strict terms, technically lying. Activists such as Pam Spaulding are rightfully holding Rick Warren's big anti-gay ego to the fire for one of the few things that might just knock the mega-evangelist off his global perch.

...[I]t's not all that surprising that Rick Warren thought he could lie shamelessly on Larry King Live and get away with it, but if there's one value shared among Christian and non-Christian alike it's this: nobody likes a liar.

It isn't on for another 25 minutes here in California
I usually Tivo the show. I'll check it out.

Politico
also has the news that Rick Warren is a no show today Here is the post:

Pre-intertubes Strategy
Back before the invention of the interwebs, politicians and those in the political sphere could just "lie low" after soiling their pants in public or other embarrassing mishaps, and the story would eventually be forgotten.

Not so much these days.

Don't worry, Blendlets ... Pastor the Rick will reappear one day, and we'll still remember what a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot he is.

Candace Gingrich smackdown
Speaking of Newt ... did y'all see the smackdown that Candace Gingrich delivered to her darling brother over at HuffPo.  It's yummier than Easter ham.

sick from exhaustion.
I bet, trying to rewrite history does take a lot of effort.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

[ Parent ]
Exhaustion
There is no such thing.  Hollywood used to use the term "hospitalized for exhaustion" when a celebrity went to the nuthouse, was drying out, or in drug rehab.

You never hear of a single mother working three jobs suffering from exhaustion, or a firefighter or cop routinely pulling double shifts suffering from exhaustion.

I seriously doubt Warren has the kind of job that's that taxing.

My guess he's in rehab or the loony bin or some home-based equivalent of it.

Repent is more like it
He is probably being exorcised of his recent backsliding to the Dark Side by the fundies. I expect we will hear from him soon saying that what he said on Larry King was "misinterpreted" and he really meant that he is totally against same sex marriage and for Prop H8.

You know, if he would just admit he was wrong about Prop H8 and ask forgiveness, I Might not dislike him so much...don't think I would ever trust him, but my dislike might lessen...maybe. It's not going to happen, though so I guess my dislike is safe.

[ Parent ]
Maybe he IS drying out in drug rehab
Rick could be getting in touch with his "Inner Judy."

Will Ricky be too exhausted
to deliver the 10+ or so sermons this easter weekend?  He's been promising his sheeple that they will get the chance to see him preach this weekend as they don't always get the privelege of witnessing his tremendous "presence" what with the substitute preachers he has taking his place.

I'm exhausted from all the hating on me...
...from the likes of Rick Warren and his pals, so I completely understand. Get this straight, Mr. Warren: buy all the Melissa Ethridge records you like, and squeeze all the flesh you can, but denying me and my family equal rights, including the right to take care of one another in sickness and in health, is nothing but hateful bigotry. Period.

Heh
If he's exhausted it's from trying to spin his position on Prop. 8.  He needs to be cornered and interrogated.

Captain Phillips has been rescued!!
Breaking news awhile ago: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0...

Gotta come up with another story now, ABC.

C'mon, it worked for Letterman- talk about how Rick Warren ducked out on ya!! Give us the REAL scoop!!

And if thine media image is tanking, go into hiding.  Yea, verily.  Amen.

-Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

Make popcorn - this will be fun
he isn't worried about us - he's worried about the fundies attacking him for being insufficiently bigoted:

Pastor Warren, Like Peter, Denies Christ (at least His teachings) During Holy Week
http://www.lifesitenews.com/ld...

He canceled?!
I was SURE he was going to blow this off. Given the events of this week, even softballer interviewers would have had to show the King clip of Warren's Prop 8 denial followed by the clips proving him a liar. What would is defense have been? "Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?"
No wonder he got "exhausted."

Poor Bigot
Poor, poor Rick.  He's so exhausted from trying to pretend like he's a member of the religious right while simultaneously trying to shield his rather large derriere from anti-gay accusations that will only increase in the near future.  Pick a side and stick to it, Rick, and maybe you can at least try and salvage your pride.

All things to all people
It's not possible to be all things to all people anymore, and Rick Warren is learning a lesson he should have learned long ago.  He is right there with the new job seekers who are horrified to discover that their prospective employers are pulling up drunken party pics from their social network pages.  Lame word-lawyering wouldn't have saved Pastor Warren from looking like a hypocite and/or liar when Stephanopoulos played the YouTube clip of his message to church members about Proposition 8; he realized that and turned into an Easter chicken.  Either you have the courage of your convictions or you don't.

By the way, Joan Walsh at Salon.com gave Pam a well deserved hat tip in her commentary today
http://www.salon.com/opinion/w...

maybe he's
the subject a big-screen outing in Kirby Dick's "Outrage"?  Wouldn't that be da schizzles?!

Is it possible that Joshua Dubois
is preparing to divvy up funds from the Faith-based Office and that Warren wishes to appear more "accepting" of us?

You think Rick
--or any other minister--might be in it for the money?!  Perish the thought!

Cynic, n.  A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.
