Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Ed Koch outraged over Outrage, but not because he's outed

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Apr 30, 2009 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

Hilarity like this in the morning is almost too much to handle.
ED Koch is upset over a new documentary, "Outrage" -- not because it claims he had "a well-established affair with a man he subsequently ran out of town," as Variety reported yesterday, but because it claims "his record on AIDS and gay rights was virtually nonexistent."

The former mayor is proud of his record on AIDS and gay rights and accuses filmmaker Kirby Dick -- a proponent of outing closeted politicians -- of revising history.

"It's a [bleep]ing outrage," Koch told Page Six yesterday. "Bella Abzug and I, in the early '70s, introduced in Congress a bill that would outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation."

Koch's record
I confess I don't know much about Ed Koch's record when it comes to gay issues or AIDS; only that it's not a record that ever made Larry Kramer very happy ...

"There are two kinds of people in this world -- the kind who separate the world into two kinds of people, and those who don't."  -- Gloria Steinem

Has ANYTHING ever made Larry Kramer very happy? ;)
Asking in jest.  I've always admired Kramer.  Not just for his activism, but for his Hollywood work before that.   If nothing else, he wrote and produced Women in Love , one of the most unjustly neglected gay films ever made, and one of the very best.  (Kramer's commentary of the DVD leaves no doubt that it's a gay film.)

Cynic, n.  A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.

Well, and that's why ...
... I posted the way I did.  I've always thought of Ed Koch as a shame-filled, cowardly closet case who did nothing for the gay community, but after reading Koch's comments in Page Six, I realized that everything I "knew" about Ed Koch, I got from Larry Kramer - not exactly an objective source.

Still, I've always admired Kramer as well.  He's a different kind of activist than I am, but I've always said that it takes all kinds, and I'm happy that folks like Kramer are there doing the work that they do.

Page Six?
Isn't citing Page Six even less credible than citing the National Enquirer? No offense meant at all but whenever Page Six says something is true, I tend to believe the opposite.

Larry is right -- as usual. Get used to Larry being right, folks.
Ed Koch is lower than pond scum.

His sponsorship of a gay rights bill -- that I and tons of other activists (most of whom now are dead) for EONS! -- had nothing to do with AIDS.

Koch rigorously ignored AIDS both politicall and (as the film shows) personally.

Props to Larry
While Larry Kramer may consistently come off as shrill and choose unpalatable language, his underlying messages are rarely off-base.  I have personally considered him the Queer John The Baptist, out in front making a point, then others come behind with a better presentation.  Surprised that he didn't tell me to bugger off when I conveyed this to him several years ago.

As for Kock [too funny a typo to correct], cry me an effin' river, Ed!  Koch's inaction on AIDS is typical of closeted men who find themselves "above" overt expressions of sexuality and what they see as the payback for sexual revelry.  Aiding a few select pieces of LGBT legislation benefits all Queers, while balking at AIDS relief punishes those whom one believes have been excessive or hedonistic.
