Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Evil! EVIL!! Miley Cyrus Preaching That God Loves The Gay People! The Sin Of It All!

by: Autumn Sandeen

Fri May 01, 2009 at 04:00:00 AM EDT

Dear friends here at The Blend, I'm forwarding this letter to you, because Monica Cole of OneMillionMoms.com asked me to! So from the American Family Association's Miley Cyrus said what? Action Alert comes this important message:

Miley Cyrus said what?

"Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus recently made statements supporting gay marriage.

Her comments were in response to a question posed to Miss California Carrie Prejean in the April 19 Miss USA Pageant. American Family Association - Miley Cyrus said what?Homosexual celeblogger Perez Hilton was the pageant judge who asked Prejean her opinion of same-sex marriage, to which she responded that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Outraged by her response, Hilton began blasting the beauty queen and asked for celebrities to share their thoughts on gay marriage.

Miley Cyrus responded to Hilton through her Twitter.com account with the following comments:

• "Everyone deserves to love and be loved and most importantly smile."
• "Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he's gay and that is wrong and very sad!
• "Like I said everyone deserves to be happy."
• "God's greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving."
• "I am a Christian and I love you - gay or not - because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God's children."

Such statements will send the wrong message to our children who are influenced by this teenage megastar. Parents need to realize that Cyrus is not the positive role model she was once thought to be.

Take Action

Send Miley Cyrus a letter stating that you do not approve of her comments.

Clearly she is confused and does not understand the Bible. Please pray for the Lord to open her eyes to the truth.

Check out the articles below for a better understanding of this controversial issue.

"Natural law" approach to the issue of same-sex marriage
A Biblical approach to the issue of same-sex marriage

Sincerely,
Monica Cole, Director
OneMillionMoms.com
P.S. Please forward this to your family and friends!

Yes, that loving your neighbor thing (Luke 10:25-37) and that not judging people thing (Matthew 7:1-5) is just so non-Biblical. Overcoming the evil of homosexuality requires not being at peace with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, right? (Romans 12:17-21)

Thank G_d that the American Family Association knows when love shouldn't be the godly response to people who belong to minority groups; thank G_d that the AFA knows how to interpet scripture without actually being concerned about what the scriptures actually says in plain language about love and judging. Hey -- without the commentary by AFA connected folk like Monica Cole, we wouldn't know that G_d's exception to loving your neighbor as yourself are those gosh darn, evil homosexuals! Hallelujah!

/snark.

A little from column A, a little from column B
I do not have any first-hand knowledge of the statements by Miley Cyrus ( a forty year-old man who follows Miley on Twitter is kinda frightening), but let's say the above quotes are the totality of what was said by Ms. Cyrus.  If so, they are hardly a ringing endorsement of GLBT's or of gay marriage.  They remind me of things said by family members when asked about a gay relative.  Safe without taking a stand.  Acceptance is not approval.  That's the bad.

Again, if the Twitter quotes are the only statements from Ms. Cyrus, then it shows how desperate the right has become.  Cole seems nearly apoplectic over the innocent, honest, accepting statements. It gives a perfect example of how bat-sh*t crazy the christo-fascist right are driving themselves.  Cole needs to reread her Jebus, as he repeatedly damns divorce but never tackles gays.  I'm sure the continued cries by NOM and the AFA and their ilk will drive level-headed people to rethink how they feel about this subject.  That's the good.

I'll take the good with the bad, if that is as bad as it gets.

"Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know"

Before I hear from Cyrus fans...
I want to clarify that I was not being critical of Ms. Cyrus, just showing that her statements were middle ground and not earth-shattering. I was making a point. Please read the last line of my comment. :-)~

Err, this is what she said in the last bullet point:

• "I am a Christian and I love you - gay or not - because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God's children."

That is pretty much an unequivocal statement that she sees everyone as equal. No quibbling, no separate but equal arguments. That doesn't appear to be a safe without taking a stand position, especially when you add the other points.

Thid appears to me to be a far stronger statement than saying she supports gay marriage; gay marriage is one issue, equality is pretty much the totality of all the issues.

Also, if you are seeking for approval in her statements, I'm not sure how much explicit you expect her to be.

Keep in mind this is a 17 year old posting via twitter.

Missed my point...
God loves you =/= nor > gays should marry.  My point is that the issue Hilton asked to be addressed was not. Specifically, gay marriage. I hear similar statements of God's love from straight Xtians all the time.  Of course I am glad Miley Cyrus feels the way she does and expressed it. Still not earth shattering; it's 2009.  I like her, personally.

Miley Cyrus
I have no feelings about Miley Cyrus whatsoever, as I've never seen Hannah Montana and have no desire to alter that fact about myself.  I could ascribe some negative feelings about her because of "Achy Breaky Heart," but I try not to blame kids for the sins of the father.

But I think her statements are worth celebrating - not because they're "earth-shattering," because you're right: they're not, not really.  She's just voicing what nearly every other person in her generational cohort feels about gay people.

What's worth celebrating - as you note - is how apoplectic the wingnutters are about it.  Although I think this might have more to do with her insane levels of popularity and influence among the American tween set than anything else.

My point isn't the love
My point is the "you are no different from anyone else".

And the children shall lead us...
Every year, there are more and more of the under-30 and under-20 crowd personally knowing us in the TLBG community, and the old fogies of the reicht cannot stand it.

These bigots remind me more and more of those who could not fathom the end of racial segregation, with this instance being gender and sexuality segregation.

Just as we who are in our 40s and 50s, and older are standing on the shoulders of those who came before us, these TLBG kids in their 20s and younger stand on our shoulders.

Listen to "TransTalk" every Monday from 4-5pm ET on http://www.falconradio.org beginning January 11th!

Poor Miley
A young woman, a girl really, with the temerity not to follow the lead of Right Wing Men.....it is so "wrong," it is so secular, it is so...non-Biblical..

The feminist is proud of you, Ms Cyrus!

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Goes to show you...
Why Miley Cyrus likely has enough talent to justify her success, whereas Carrie Prejean'll be forgotten a year or two from now, except on 'Jeopardy' or something.

Though let's hope this doesn't happen to her because of it... http://www.adultswim.com/video... (probably NSFW)

I can feel the Christian love, can't you?
From Ms. Cyrus, that is. The AMA... not so much.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

GET ON IT guys...Don't just type here...send letter. You can alter it.
Here is what I am sending.

Thank you so much for your words of Love for ALL Gods Children.

As a mother, I am extremely HAPPY about your recent remarks supporting gay marriage. For you to say that you support gay marriage is WONDERFUL. When a popular teen icon makes such comments, it impacts your fans, those being my children. Your statements are Biblically correct. I will be praying for you, thanking God for opening your eyes to the truth as revealed in His Word.

Go ahead write your own. I love to do these altered ones.

(PS NOM finally got sort of smart. Now you can edit their letters but not the title!
so I didn't change the one yesterday.)

yep
I did the same. I let her know I approved of her statements and that her fan in my household, my youngest, thinks she cool for saying that.

No one ever talks about [extermination]. They just do it. And you go on with your lives, ignoring the signs all around you. And then, one day, when the air is still and the night has fallen, they come for you.

[ Parent ]
I'm confused
Would they rather she said:

-"Everyone deserves to love hate and be loved hated and most importantly smile."

-"Jesus loves hates you and your partner and but wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving hating his lil boy cuz he's gay and that is wrong OK and very sad cool!"

-"Like I said everyone deserves to be happy."

-"God's greatest commandment is to love And but judging not loving is OK."

-"I am a Christian and I love hate you - gay or not - because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God's children."

No
That would make them look bad. They would rather the hate be worded in such a way as to sound like love, like "we are coming together in love to oppose same-sex marriage", or "as a Christian I love you, but I hate your sin", or something.

Saying they outright hate us would be too honest. Honesty: not their strong suit.

Yes!!! Miley's on our side.
1. Carrie Prejean fell into the Dark Side, joining the other Siths for their "Christian" jihad.  I am glad that Miley is fighting along with us GLBT and supporters.

2. AFA is not Christian.  It's a group of (a)pathetic hypocrites.  They are the ones confused and do not understand the Bible, not Miley.  Miley knows from her heart that she should love one another, not become insecure and apathetic like the AFA.

Things I never thought I would say...
But I am really proud of Miley Cyrus right now!

She has the courage to be both a Christian and for equality and for LOVE...not something that is necessarily easy at the age of 17 when two huge groups are pulling at you.

OMG, I thought this was classic satire at first. I mean I expect her to be against gay marriage, but for her to come out and SAY that loving gay people sends the "wrong message"?!  This is delicious!
