Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Breaking: Senator Vitter does NOT support the UAFA

by: dstavro

Thu May 28, 2009 at 12:45:45 PM EDT

After several efforts to add my Louisiana Senators and Representative as cosponsors to the Uniting American Families Act, I amazingly received an email reply. Oddly enough, it was Senator David Vitter's office that replied:

Thank you for contacting me in support of the Uniting American Families Act. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.

As you may know, the Uniting Families Act would apply the same standards to same-sex couples that our laws apply to opposite-sex couples where one member is seeking to bring a permanent partner into the country.  I believe the definition in this legislation is vague in many aspects and could create serious and divisive legal issues.  I also fear this bill would further complicate our already flawed immigration system.

While we may not agree on this legislation, I will keep your views in mind as I work to improve our security and reform our immigration system. Once again, thank you for contacting me to share your thoughts on this issue. Please feel free to contact me in the future about other issues important to you.

Sincerely,

Senator David Vitter
United States Senator

I never actually expected them to co-sponsor the UAFA, but WTF, it is always good to contact your Congressional representatives.  Vitter's (staff) reply only proves that the right is running out of excuses in denying equality.  What part of "same standards to same-sex couples that our laws apply to opposite-sex couples" do they not understand?  Apparently"same standards" is too vague.

Does any one here have any suggestions on how I should reply to Senator Vitter's email?

Hmmm...
Would sending him an adult diaper be too crass?

Yeah, probably.

You beat me to the diaper remark.
But I don't think it would be crass.  It would be perfectly legitimate IMO.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Happy!
Glad to see you here -- I think I just invited you to my wedding in a thread on HuffPo.    cheers,  Chris

Be sure the diaper is full....

you might
If you're up for it, you might call his local office and see if you can make an appointment to talk to a staff member about the issue. While I doubt his position will change as a result, it's always a good thing to keep educating the staff members.

Vague
What part of "same standards to same-sex couples that our laws apply to opposite-sex couples" do they not understand?  Apparently"same standards" is too vague.

Opposite sex couples are clearly defined by whether they have a marriage license or not. Same sex couples may be qualified if they are married (Spain), in a civil union (UK), in a domestic partnership (CA) or just by living together and having a joint bank account. That's what he means by vague.

See how important "marriage" is when compared to anything else?

Absolutely right here..,.

I'm surprised that his staff even read your letter
I called my congressman, Gresham Barrett, SC 3rd, to ask him to support the hate crimes bill, even though I knew that there was no chance he would.  I think the staffer was surprised that anyone in his district did support it.  This week I got a boiler plate letter from his office thanking me for calling to oppose the bill.  What a crock!

And your Democratic Senator doesn't have the courtesy to write back...
To his credit, Senator Coleman always wrote back....  and Amy Klobuchar has only written back once - and that was after I sent her a nastygram about getting no response to constituent correspondance when they sent me a request for money.

Just what you said...
If the same standards are being applied, what is the problem?

As for divisive, the only division that I can see is the division of committed same sex couples to satisfy the divisive nature of people who do not approve of or like gay people, and will do anything, including applying DIFFERENT standards, to make our lives as difficult and as unpleasant as possible.

Any man and any woman can get married, and present themsevles as being married, whether they are truly married or are just doing it for immigration purposes. As long as they can convince immigration officcials that they are truly married-- and good friends can do that easily-- there is no question. It's called a green card marirage, and people do it all the itme, whether straight or gay.

Reply to Vitter
Dear Senator Vitter,

Were you a product of the Louisianna public school system?  Please get out your Fu*k & Wagnall's and look up the word "same" and the word "standard".  Maybe that will clear up your confusion as to WHAT PART OF EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW don't you understand?

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States. - The U.S. Constitution Article IV.Section. 2. Clause 1

Disheartening....
If I ever heard Barney Frank make a positive statement about the attainment of gay rights, I'd faint.

He undoubtedly does support legalizing prostitution
as a way to bring the prices down and to help the economy

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid
