The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

On Transitioning Transgender Youth II - The Other Side Of The Coin

by: Autumn Sandeen

Mon Jun 01, 2009 at 06:00:00 AM EDT

And, it's more of the political correct bull crap -- that you don't want to tell a kid he's a freak [*with lisp*] 'cause it might hurt his feelings.[*end lisp*] If my son -- God forbid -- if my son put on a pair of high heels, I would probably hit him with one of my shoes. I would throw a shoe at him because y'know what? Boys don't wear high heels.

--Rob Williams Arnie States of Rob, Arnie, and Dawn In The Morning™

Leave it to morning talk radio to advocate violence against transgender elementary aged youth; making the physical health of gender variant youth fodder for violence. Not since the National Association For Research & Therapy Of Homosexuality's (NARTH's) Dr. Joseph Berger advocated violence against gender variant youth (alternate documentation: Pink News and the Los Angeles Times) have we seen such heinous public comment made against trans and other gender variant youth.

Dr. Joseph Berger of NARTH statement on Gender Variant YouthWhat NARTH's Dr. Joseph Berger wrote about gender variant youth in 2006 was this:

I suggest, indeed, letting children who wish go to school in clothes of the opposite sex - but not counseling other children to not tease them or hurt their feelings.

On the contrary, don't interfere, and let the other children ridicule the child who has lost that clear boundary between play-acting at home and the reality needs of the outside world. Maybe, in this way, the child will re-establish that necessary boundary.

It is a mistake for various interfering, ignorant, and biased busybodies to try to "counsel" the other children into accepting the abnormal. It is very healthy to be able to draw the line between what is healthy and what is sick.

Even Exodus International condemned Dr. Berger for this comment.

Enter Rob Williams of the Sacramento based Rob, Arnie, and Dawn In The Morning™ show, heard on Sacramento's KRXQ 98.5 and Reno's KDOT Rock 104.5.

In a whole segment that's devoted to transgender youth, Rob Williams begins by going off on "gay marriage", berating peanut allergies, to repeatedly calling transgender adults "freaks" and "drama queens", to calling transyouth "freaks" and "losers", to calling all trans people (including trans youth) "liars" -- and then suggesting violence against any male child who expresses gender variance from the male norms. To say the least, It's an pretty interesting segment to listen to. The whole segment is here:

Here's a second excerpt to the 36-minute segment (the first excerpt is the one at the top of this Pam's House Blend diary):

Sometimes you need to tell people that you're wrong, you're evil, you're a drama queen, and you need to get over life. What you describe Dawn is every person all the time throughout their life "I need attention. I need to be loved for who I am." You know who you are? You're a dude 'cause you got the plumbing. And, that's what most of us see, and that's why we call them freaks and weirdoes.

And a third excerpt:

...we're talking about the drama queens.

And, on the issue of research, some things you don't research to look at and go 'This is a bridge too far. This is a weird person who is demanding attention.' And, when it's a child, all it takes is a hug -- maybe some tough love -- or anything in between, when your little boy said [*with whining, sarcastic voice*] "Mommy, I wanna walk around in a dress," [*end whining/sarcasm*] ya' tell 'em no, because that's not what boys do. But, that's not what we're doing in this culture.

Again, this is a segment that Williams is making these comments on is on transyouth.

[Below the fold, comparing what TransYouth Family Advocate's Kim Pearson says to what Rob Williams says, and how to contact the radio stations Rob Williams is broadcast upon.]

Autumn Sandeen :: On Transitioning Transgender Youth II - The Other Side Of The Coin
Williams joins Mission America, the Capitol Research Institute,  Exodus International, Focus On The Family, and NARTH in indicating transyouth are wrong. Auspicious company, no doubt.

So, going back to the first On Transitioning Transgender Youth from yesterday morning, where I quoted an excerpt of TYFA's Kim Pearson, talking about suicidal trans youth:

The biggest concern people have -- and even some of the "experts" ... -- but the experts will say that there are risks involved in letting a child that young transition. And, my answer to that is that there are equal risks involved in not letting a child that young transition.

I've always raised my kids under the guideline of "What's the worst case scenario? What's the worst thing that could happen?" The worst thing that could happen with transitioning a 5-year-old -- a miserable, suicidal 5-year-old -- transitioning them, and the question is "What if they change their minds?"

And my answer is "What if they do?"

You haven't really changed anything except their hairstyle and their clothes and the name that you call them and the pronouns. So, if they change their mind, you change it back. It'll be uncomfortable; it'll be embarrassing -- but you know what? That's more about you -- the parent -- than about the child. And, what have you done for that child except send tell them -- you've sent a very strong message -- I love you NO MATTER WHAT.

So, you've kept their self esteem intact.

Kim was making these comments regarding suicidal trans youth -- particularly, a suicidal 5-year-old trans youth. Frankly, even if I wasn't trans, I would much rather have Kim Pearson as a Mom than Rob Williams as a Dad.

I don't have to tell you about LGBT youth who committed suicide recently. I don't have to remind folk about Lawrence King. I probably do have to remind folk about the Commentary like Rob Williams' commentary -- his epithet and slur ridden terminology regarding transyouth, where he talked about committing violence in relationship to trans youth -- contributes to the unsafe atmosphere for the youth in our schools.

thanks
Thanks for posting this Autumn; I am glad others have been as outraged as I am. I feel its a fundamental principle (to an LGBT movement) to insist on a better world for our youth.

co-host of trans-ponder

Before they even got to the Transgender stuff...
you can already tell how mind-numbingly stupid they are.

(I'm talking about the radio hosts from Rob, Arnie, and Dawn.)

Rob and Arnie...
doesn't care that people are killing themselves over this, what are we supposed to do about people like this?

Oh, Having lived in Reno
And listened to the radio, I can assure you that this was one of this shows more lucid moments....

Which is even scarier.

Hey, Autumn..
Sometimes I click on the pink play button and it works and other times I keep clicking and nothing happens and I have to refresh the page a couple times. Is there a quick fix? Am I doing something wrong?

I added links

I don't know why you're having problems, but I added links to the audio in case it's a problem with the player.

Since I live in Sacramento...
...I sent them this letter:

Hey, shock jocks;

How would you like to have a real male-to-female transsexual on the show?  I retired from the Army as a Military Broadcast Reporter, so I have no problem with being on the air (aside from the fact I spent the first four years in the Marine Corps, and will have to curb the salty language I acquired.)

What do you say, Mr. Williams?  A real live transsexual there in the studio.  You can tell me how sick and disturbed you think I am in front of your listening audience.  That demographic will love it!  Callers can chime in and tell me to my ears how much of a freak they believe me to be.

Before you get the wrong idea, I'm not into abuse.  I just know from the format of your show and the makeup of your audience that I'll be like Danielle being chucked into the lions' den.  As my father still tells me, life is tough all over.  He's right. So I want to see if you and your audience can tell a real transsexual to her face that you think that's sick and disturbed.  I'm sure you will not disappoint.

So.  I spent 'Four in the Corps' ['CORE'] and it didn't make a man out of me.  I spent the next sixteen years in the Army, rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class and holding the positions of Platoon Sergeant and Broadcast Section NCO, spent 8 months in the Bosnia combat zone, was on duty on September 11th, 2001, retired, and ended up trading myself to the other team and getting my 'package' turned from an 'outie' to an 'innie'.  Compared to all the stuff that preceded it, transitioning was the absolutely most difficult thing I've ever done in my life.

Wanna talk about it?  On the air?

Karen

I know another transwoman who was on Waterboarding-is-toture Mancow's show.  During the on air segments he went through the thesaurus listing for 'freak' and said she'd never pass.  During the commercial breaks he said 'hey, this is radio.'  I know what I'm getting into.

Why do it?  Suddenly, I'm not abstract, I'm right there before the listeners.  And I have trial-by-fire public affairs experience.  They ask, "So, how long have you been a freak?"  I ignore the question and give a talking point.  If they persist, I point out that it's a statement phrased as a question and I'm not buying into the game.

Been there
I too was on a morning talk show with a moronic host.

His name is Denny Schaffer, and was on the #1 station in Toledo, OH -- but back then he was an ally. It wasn't until he refound his Catholic faith did he veer severely to the reicht.

He bounced around from station to station lately... despite his rabid conservatism, and has filled in on Glenn Beck's propaganda outlet from time to time, but is now relegated to his own self-produced show in the internet.

If I was living in Sacramento, Karen, I'd gladly go on with you and tag-team the morons -- they wouldn't know what hit them!

Listen to "TransTalk" every Thursday at 4-5pm ET on http://www.falconradio.org

Outstanding.
i would think they'd be too craven to respond, though.

Please follow up either way on their response...

Are you talking about what it is you know, or just repeating what it was you heard?

What a bunch of horse manure!
Wait, I take that back, horse manure is actually useful for the garden, unlike this ignorant garbage they're spouting. I can't believe that these intolerant people are actually given a salary and access to microphones. I somehow managed to listen to about 15 minutes of their ignorant ramblings... and then wrote an email to the show, not that it will do much good.

Link down
The link to the whole segment has been changed on the server. Instead of being  36 min portion of the show, it is a 1 minute teaser about, "Was American Idol rigged?!" I'm pretty sure it's not your mistake since links at other locations go to the same file. Someone is covering their ass quickly once it's got the attention of people who give a shit about their fellow humans.

I would like to listen to the show, as vile as it is and as angry as it will make me. As my friend tells it, you've selected some of the kinder bits these bigots thought to share.
