Sanford's behavior is consistent with someone who thinks, acts, and make decisions based on selfish, indiviaulastic needs. The welfare of others has no concern for him. This person can never be a Leader.

It is time for the South Carolina governor to resign. He was elected to represent the people. He is not allow to just disappear. His public information people lied to the public. It is our responsibility to hold elected people accountable. If we don't, then this type of behavior is acceptable. He must go. Who the F does he think he is.

He should have just stuck with the hiking trail story...now people are going to want to see if his passport was stamped in Argentina. I guess its ok for this governor to take a trip to another country to unwind "by himself" on an exotic vacation on SC tax payer expense, while we are number 3 in the nation in unemployment, but you hypocrites can try and slam our President for taking his wife on a date to New York for a couple of days. Understandable behavior. . . if you are 19. But a grown man, a father of 4, a governor, --leaves the country without telling his wife or staff? Had a crisis occurred on any of those fronts: a car accident involving family, a major crime or disaster in the state, -- did it not occur to him that "Where the heck is the governor?" would have been an awful headline, not to mention a compounding tragedy? Somebody who can't think this far ahead. . . shouldn't be in charge of the DMV! In this day and age, you can go on a religious retreat, hike the Himalayas -- but leave emergency contact information! I smell something fishy. An affair, something illegal, mental illness. Something. Regardless, his career is toast.
Wait a minute...I think the next time I feel stress in my teaching job, this will afford me the opportunity to just "walk out of my classroom" and not tell someone because I need to relax and unstress. Maybe I should be thanking Mr. Sanford. He has set the standards for all state employees..!! Yiiiippppppeee hooooray...!
Why isn't there a rally on the statehouse grounds being planned?? This city and state should be in an uproar over this disrespectful governor. Citizens should be protesting and asking for his removal from office and impeachment. We are being made to look like a laughingstock in the nation's eye once again.

Everyone should realize what this really is about. This is a big fat hatchet job by Andre Bauer and Jake Knotts. It looks like they have taken a page from Sanford's book on how to cause a stir to help promote your own political ambition. Sanford, how does it feel to be made a pawn in somebody's little political game? Now you know how the citizens of South Carolina have felt these last few months. Voters beware of Bauer and Knotts. They have ulterior motives. Vote the goons out of office.
