The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Breaking News: Michael Jackson Has Died

by: Louise

Thu Jun 25, 2009 at 17:55:14 PM EDT

(Bumping up; this is the story of the night (so far, anyways!)
Who would have ever guessed that Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson would die on the same day? - promoted by Louise
)

As of 6:23pm, it has been reported that Jackson was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center. Source: LA Times and announced on MSNBC.

LOS ANGELES -- Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Los Angeles Times.

Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital, a fire department official told the Los Angeles Times.

Capt. Steve Ruda said Thursday that Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the newspaper.

L. Londell McMillan, a lawyer for Jackson, did not have any information. Messages left for other Jackson associates were not immediately returned.

The hospitalization was first reported by the Web site TMZ.

The emergency entrance at the UCLA Medical Center, which is near Jackson's rented home, was roped off Thursday with police tape.

------

Associated Press entertainment reporters Derrik Lang and Anthony McCartney and special correspondent Linda Deutsch in Los Angeles and music writer Nekesa Mumbi Moody in New York contributed to this story.

Unconfirmed from any other source, but TMZ is reporting Jackson has died.
=============================================

That's the headline running on MSNBC; ABC News reporting it as a cardiac arrest:

Michael Jackson was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center this afternoon after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports.

The Los Angeles fire department was called to Jackson's residence at 12:26 p.m. PST, according to The LA Times. The paper reported that paramedics performed CPR on the 50-year-old King of Pop, who was not breathing when they arrived at his home.

The LA fire department confirmed to ABCNews.com that they responded "to a medical call at 100 block of Carrolwood," where Jackson lives, and that they took one person to the UCLA Medical Center.

Jackson's sudden health crisis comes days before his scheduled series of comeback concerts. From July 13, 2009 to March 6, 2010, Jackson is scheduled to perform 50 sold-out concerts at London's O2 arena.

WOW.

Michael Jackson is dead :(

That's what TMZ just rumored

Got the TMZ link
up above and here:

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

[ Parent ]
How can they tell?
Were there any organic parts of him left for them to monitor?

I am not interested in picking up crumbs of compassion thrown from the table of someone who considers himself my master. I want the full menu of rights.  -Archbishop Desmond Tutu

[ Parent ]
QScribe, NOT FUNNY!
Not. Funny. At. All.

Whatever you think of MJ (and I haven't liked his music since Off the Wall, really).

[ Parent ]
Actually he has a point, albeit masked as a joke
Michael Jackson had been dead in every way for many years now. His entire psyche and his sexual and racial identitiy was shattered in a zillion little pieces by years of trauma, and his music had stagnated in empty bombasticism since before BAD, which was described as a race-hate album.

Nothing became his life like the leaving it. Quick and discreet.

[ Parent ]
Let's not start doing the Diana thing again.
Everyone rushes to lose themselves in an orgy of empty vicarious sentimentality, working out their personal problems on a public cypher.

You didn't know him. Nobody did.

[ Parent ]
Not cool.
Please, not now.

[ Parent ]
Funny a week ago, maybe.
I think the sell-by date on that one has officially run out.

[ Parent ]
LA TImes
says he is in a coma.

With family rushing in, my guess would be on life-support.

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

TMZ
They were the first, and the L.A. Times didn't even give them credit.  When it's celebrity news, I go to TMZ first every time.

By the way, the post, and the comments on this blog are truly polite and well meaning.  I couldn't stomach what I was reading over at John's blog (AMERICAblog), and on some other so called left leaning blogs.  Kudos to you, Pam.

As for Farrah, an icon as well.  The only real difference in the death of these two people today, is that one was sort of expected, and one was totally not expected.

Two icons on the same day, and three fabulous people in one week (counting Ed McMahon).  I definitely need more rum and coke.

I may have lost my virginity, but I still have the box it came in.

[ Parent ]
Don't put so much faith in TMZ
Seriously. This isn't the most reliable news source.

i usually don't believe internet news sources unless there are multiple sources that are all independent of each other saying the same thing. In this case, you have one not-very-reliable internet news source reporting something nobody else is corroborating. Could be true, probably isn't.

LA TIMES NOW SAYING HE HAS DIED.

[ Parent ]
Prayers for his family
Now I worry about Elizabeth Taylor, she is frail and was a close friend of Michael.

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

[ Parent ]
Oh no...
They were talking about his family (focus on his mom especially)- I forgot about Liz.

Oh, I hope someone is with her and breaks it to her as gently as possible.

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

[ Parent ]
Wrote the lyrics "We are the world".
Even though we activists think entertainment people don't do much, we are mistaken, they do and outside the box of politics. Michael Jackson was an historic figure. Even Farah with her beautiful face and hair lifted the spirit of America.  Don't dismiss the power of popular culture.

Same-Sex Marriage is good for the economy.

[ Parent ]
I remember that so well
(but it was because I had a HUGE crush on Bruce Springsteen):

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

[ Parent ]
Louise
You got me wiping the tears away again with this video.  Life is so short so why not be bold, challenge the status quo and make changes.  WTF?  You can't take the economic "American Dream" with you.

Same-Sex Marriage is good for the economy.

[ Parent ]
No kidding, Charles
Oh, the stand of unity in that studio- egos and celebrity set aside for a common goal. They all became larger in that day- they showed their HUMANITY.

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

[ Parent ]
I don't get it -- since when has TMZ been unreliable?
I'm not aware of anything they've reported that has ever been not true.  What did I miss that turned so many people here against it?

As far as I know, TMZ is completely reliable, and they've proven to be so again with this.

[ Parent ]
Well, fuck
He's gone.

Its a strange thing, because 1) He wrote alot of really good music, so I feel sad 2) The relentless accusations of him being a pedo are finally over, so I feel relieved 3) the exploitation machine has already begun-Madonna is reporting to People Magazine that she 'can't stop crying'-listen, if you're mourning the death of a lost friend, why are you confessing your grief to People? Shouldn't that be something you tell a confidante, in private? I'm pretty sure a boxed set will be out within a month, as will endless commercialized tributes on VH1 and for sale at every Wal-Mart in the country. As soon as a pop star dies, everyone rushes to cash in on their legacy. So I feel annoyed 4) Its the one topic everyone will want to discuss, primarily because of the media rushing to cash in on his death, for the next couple of months. Ergo, very important issues, like DADT, DOMA, ENDA, LGBT dollars and the DNC... we're going to get ignored by the media, as they spend months on tributes and teary eyed Madonnas with their fake as fuck grief clog up the airwaves as they mug for the cameras. Tabloids, glossy gossip magazines and the pupl media will take the spotlight away from the serious media. So, I feel sad, again.

I guess it all does come full circle in the end, doesn't it?

Omigosh, the crowds being shown on MSNBC.

Not quite...
This is bigger. This was Michael Jackson. I'm sure there are millions of fans all over the world mourning right now.

I hope this doesn't sound callous, but this will probably dominate the media cycle for several days at least.

[ Parent ]
It's OK...
I'm alternating among MSNBC, CNN, and the LA stations. The local LA stations always go crazy over celebrity news. But with Michael Jackson's unfortunate passing, they're nonstop with helicopters over UCLA Medical Center, live footage of the madness all over Westwood (the LA neighborhood where UCLA is at), interviews with everyone from medical experts to Motown luminaries, and much more. It's a media circus, and it's made today's loss so much sadder.

Billie Jean and Beat it were great.

:(
I never would have thought that today would be the day Michael Jackson died. Waking up to Farrah was bad, but Michael? I can only imagine how poor Janet and the rest are feeling.

20/20 tonight will have a special edition tonight at 9PM, EDT
dedicated to his life and death.

Some reactions:

Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of legendary rock and roll innovator and pop megastar Elvis Presley, was married to Jackson from 1994 to 1996.

"I am completely shocked and saddened by Michael's death. My heart goes out to his children and his family," said Presley in a statement.

"For a long time he was unquestionably the most famous person on the planet," Jed Hilly, the executive director of the Americana Music Assocation, told ABCNews.com.

Chris Connelly, an ABC News contributor, was one of the last people to interview Jackson, and said today that the pop star was "determined to convey that he had greater things ahead of him."

"The word he spoke with the greatest emphasis was the 'More!' that he exclaimed when I asked if he could still do all his famous moves and hit all those notes at the age of 50," said Connelly of his August 2008 phone interview with Jackson.

Connelly asked Jackson if he had received his AARP membership, a question that garnered a laugh from the star.

"In an all-too-short life that in so many ways was filled with enigmatic emotions, or troubling ones, his laugh sounded fresh, clear and altogether genuine," said Connelly. "If only there had been more of those."

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

Who?
Never heard of him.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

Michael has left the building
Hopefully for a better place.

My condolences to the relatives, and with the belated hope that the media might have a shred of decency, and consider that the Jackson extended family is composed of human beings.

Requiescat in Pace

There is no situation so complex it can't get even worse

[ Parent ]
Heard a completely stunning and candid interview
with a Jackson family lawyer, saying that Michael had enablers regarding prescription medication abuse, and he was afraid that Michael would OD someday. That's pretty startling stuff, considering everyone in his inner circle always says how fabulously fit he was.

I'm stunned
Not at his death, but at the outpouring of sadness and grief. I graduated high school about the same time as Louise, but was never a fan of Jackson's - manufactured pop has never really been my genre. During the time Thriller was huge, my friends and I were listening to underground "progressive" music, which was later consumed in the "alternative" wave of the early 90s.

I was shocked to see the news, only because he was not old, but can't forget the number of people he hurt over the years. That so many of them were children only makes it worse. I always worried about the children he was raising because of his past, but I guess they are safe now.

I am certainly not happy at this news, but I don't think it warrants wall-to-wall coverage. I especially appalled that Countdown is devoting its whole broadcast to this celebrity gossip, when not one word about a real tragedy - the crash of the Metro train in DC - has been said on the program.

thank you, CPT for being the concientious lone voice
While I have respect for Michael's music, I do feel the CPT's concerns are valid. Personally I don't know if I can say what happened to the kids he had at his ranch (though we know that they did sleep in the same bed). And definitely his own children suffered from having him as a dad. Can we overlook this? No, but we Michael fans (myself included) will be swept by the giant tribute mentality that will go on for days, weeks, etc.

Thank you CPT for being the party-pooper...of conscience. Fun and music are fun, but other things matter too, often more so.

[ Parent ]
I talked to my Mom about this
I honestly felt somewhat sadder about Farrah than I did MJ because of all the other stuff that CPT talked about. She kinda sorta felt the same way.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think some of out and out nastiness was in order but...I think I can understand why someone might feel that way.

[ Parent ]
Thank you CPT ...
The one-sided outpouring on TV was too much for me.  Started reading this thread with increasing disbelief until I got to your message, about #50.

As a survivor of physical and sexual abuse, I do not forget.  In MJ's case, the legal system twice failed to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, but it seems clear that at best, he was engaging in some extremely inappropriate behavior with children.  This trumps talent and philanthropy.

Abuse is violence, and it has devastating consequences ... battered spouse syndrome, Stockholm syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder, profound & persistent emotional disturbance, eating disorders, self-cutting behaviors, failure to thrive, extreme isolation, broken and ruined lives, creation of new perpetrators, subconsciously choosing abusive partners as adults, years of therapy for those functional enough to earn the money to afford it, suicide for those who cannot stand the battle to live just one more day.  Our society will remain profoundly sick until we stop forgiving this behavior and stop selling out our children.

I am sad for his family's loss.  I am sad for his exploitation starting when he was just a little boy.  I am sad that he had enablers who hastened if not caused his untimely end.  And I am sad for his apparent dissatisfaction with his naturally beautiful skin and features and hair and for choosing medical procedures to alter himself.  I am sad for whatever circumstances led to his strange and destructive behavior.  It is difficult to imagine he could have been a happy soul.  If there is an afterlife, I hope he is finally at peace, all the hurts and evils burned off in the journey back to the one spirit.

[ Parent ]
crap
"And I am sad for his apparent dissatisfaction with his naturally beautiful skin and features and hair and for choosing medical procedures to alter himself."
That's only a consequence, not the big picture.  I am also angry at a society that despises and persecutes and kills some of its citizens because of their appearance, and protects and idolizes and grants privilege to other citizens because of their appearance.

[ Parent ]
You are never going to hear such an outpouring of blind sentimentality
as you will over the next few days, a circus of bawling and weeping, followed by a gleeful post-mortum of his entire, scarred and culpable life.

[ Parent ]
MJ's Changes
He was so good looking back in the '80's when he did Thriller. He had had some cosmetic surgery by then, but he hadn't gone overboard with it yet, and he was still black, for the most part.

What he did to himself after that--I can't even imagine his reasoning for it--he destroyed his good looks and became almost alien. Yet still he had millions of adoring fans around the world. And even with all the eccentricities he indulged, still his millions of fans loved him.

That gives me hope for humanity. That someone can be so different, and still be loved by so many--That's a beautiful thing.

Tax the Christian Taliban!

[ Parent ]
I thank you too
It's indisputable he was an amazing talent that brought a lot of joy to millions.

But dying doesn't negate that he was batshit crazy and his meglamanical disease led him to feel he was immune to social mores and justified in behaving in inapporopriate ways.

In the end, sad to say his children are the winners, now having some hope of being raised and influenced by someone not completely off their rocker.

MJ's best days were behind him, is how I feel.

[ Parent ]
I thought the exact same thing
"In the end, sad to say his children are the winners, now having some hope of being raised and influenced by someone not completely off their rocker."

His children will now hopefully be raised in a more normal environment.

Small-town lunatic raving
Well, I just got back home after grabbing a bite.

Thought I'd let you know of the spectacle I saw.

This 20-something redneck with cutoff sleeves and a backwards visor screaming and raising hell from his table.  See the TV was on CNN and talking non-stop about MJ.

He screams at the top of his lungs:  "Good he's dead.  Now his children can be safe from AIDS.  Fag!"

Everyone started moving to new tables.

This is such an embarrassing town to live in.

....welll at least they were moving away from his table...not to it!

Thriller
You could NOT be in a rock/pop cover band in the early 80's without covering hits from Thriller; we used to do a medley of BEAT IT, BILLIE, and THRILLER - weird how the bass line for BILLE and THRILLER both use the same 4 notes (F#, E, C#, B).....helped make a nice transition between tunes.    Ahhhhh....memories of my Rickenbacker bass and parachute pants......and a 29-inch waist.

(cue "Memories")

So sad.

But I'm still a big fan of the Jackson 5 - THOSE were tunes!

Decades more of abuse? - OR - Stonewall.  Nationwide.  NOW!

He was a pedophile.
In an earlier thread, I read condemnation about Rush Limbaugh for being a child molester, an accusation which is totally false.  In Michael Jackson, we have a true pedophile and everybody's singing his praises.

Convoluted or what?

On the other hand
You going to pity the abused little black boy with the huge voice, or the pitiful pseudo-white pedophile he became?

Victim or victimiser; where does the one end and the other begin?

[ Parent ]
He was found Not Guilty...
And I believe he was not guilty.

Tax the Christian Taliban!

[ Parent ]
In the first charge he just paid off the victim to go away

[ Parent ]
Yes, massive out-of-court settlements don't do much to quiet rumors.
On the other hand, I think he was about the most harmless pedo there ever was: he wasn't some sort of brutal sadistic rapist, just a sad, wistful adorer of an innocence he felt he had been personally deprived of.

His naive view of children was part of his whole world of delusion. He ascribed to them a fundamental purity and goodness that they simply don't possess. That's just another one of the bipolar delusions that bedevil the human mind. Children and adults aren't tweo different species: they are points on a continuum. Jackson's progress along that continuum was perverted and reversed by environmental abuse and he longed to occupy a fixed point in an inaginary childhood. Hence the Peter Pan fixations.

And I DO believe that the revolting parents of some of his so-called victims deliberately pimped their kids out to his perceived weaknesses in the hope of material gain.

[ Parent ]
Really?
How do you explain the settlement with the first kid?

[ Parent ]
Ooh, creepy.
My partner and I were discussing the death of Farrah Fawcet (sp?) and Ed McMahon with friends this afternoon, and I said "I wonder who is next, because it seems celebrity deaths always come in threes." Then I get home and find out about this...

Guess your momma didn't teach you "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all", and "Don't speak ill of the dead"

and NO it isn't blind sentimentality, it's a loss, and a shocking loss...but no one has forgotten any of his life, good or bad.

It's going to happen; the next week or so are going to be vitriolic and partisan. Personally, I'm staying away from it, as I have mixed feelings, and people here and elsewhere are going to say and do what they will.

But I will say this: I literally have buried a sibling with a long history of prescription drug abuse who died under unsavory and headline grabbing sensationalized circumstances. Who had lived a bizarre life for years, built in layers of confusing details and levels of truth/ perception. Who grew up a very confused adult without the ability to make rational adult decisions, in some or large part based on the severe emotional abuse received as a child by an over-controlling, paranoid and vicious drunk.

So I empathize deeply with those who loved Michael, who imo was one of the most brilliant artists and self-promoters ever, and feel his long pain is over. He was a sad and lonely person who wanted to go back and start his life anew, rewind and be a child again.

So did she.

But yet
People are condemning Rush Limbaugh for being a pedophile, which is absolutely unfounded.  Is that 'necessary' in your opinion?

[ Parent ]
I never called Limbaugh a pedofile
That is all I'm responsible for, Limbaugh is a hateful racist f*cktard, who is an addict, and used his maid as his drug mule...that is indisputable.
He is also ALIVE and has 3 hours a day on a radio to defend his fat self.

What seems especially FOUL about the comments above within hours of Jackson's death...who EXACTLY do you think you are hurting?...it ain't the object of your anger and disgust...he's left the building. So do you want to hurt his children, his siblings, his parents, his friends, his fans?
Huh, who do you want to vent to?

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

@Orion45
I've dated and had two relationships with bear men, who were/are extremely sexy. I also have a friend some stupid chubby chaser encouraged him to get BIGGER, and BIGGER, and he ended up having to use a motorized wheel chair and an oxygen tank in his early 40's, and looked like a guy in his 60's and probably 500 lbs.

Moderation and health, not size makes a man attractive.

As a Catholic, I've endured an awful lot of hatred about pedophile priests
So yeah, I tend to bristle when someone's pedophilia is whitewashed while in the church's case an entire group of people is implicated by the actions of a few.

Now you're calling Limbaugh a racist.  This is a claim that is again, unsubstantiated.  So exactly whom are YOU trying to hurt with what is not only a horrible insult, but also a lie?

Let's face it.  Jackson is getting adoring wall-to-wall coverage when what he is is a troubled drug-addled reclusive, weirdo child-molesting freak who wen't from being a black young man to looking like a scary old white woman.

see Magic Negro
and EVERY motherf*ckin mention of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson in the last 2 decades.

and btw...when your Catholic Church has had to cough up MILLIONS to bleach the G*D DAMN bloody ass stains off the Altar boy gowns....yeah Vatican, you got a PROBLEM!

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

Rush didn't invent 'Magic Negro'. An LA Times reporter did.
He says Sharpton and Jackson are self-serving extortionists.  I don't see how that makes him racist.

So you think the Catholic Church is bad because some priests molested, but you don't think pedophile Michael Jackson is wonderful?

Who's got the problem?

Telling a caller to take a bone out of her
nose is racist, though.

you got a problem...cupcake
You are a troll, that does nothing but defend Sanford, Limbaugh, Catholics, and spits on Michael Jackson.
NONE of those subjects interest me, you don't interest me, so spew what ever pops into your teeny brain stem, but I'm FINISHED with your posts.

The creature was a pedophile
Nuff said.

Indeed he was
Here's hoping the whole story will come out. Though I'm not too optimistic about that, having studied it quite closely for a considerable number of years.

I would wager some musical, or movie, or Cirque review is being written TODAY based on Michael's music.

I'm posting this here because I will NOT respond to the "pissing on a corpse" mentality going on on any other Blender's post, but my own.

It started before Jackson was announced to have died, here and elsewhere, and will continue forever.

May those who contribute in such a fashion never have the same lack of human decency occur when they pass...
