Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Michigan: Kalamazoo approves inclusive anti-discrimination ordinance

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Jun 30, 2009 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

Good news in Michigan -- Kalamazoo has outlawed discrimination against LGBTs in employment, housing and access to public accommodations. Video is from WOOD-TV:

"I am excited," said Terry Kyseke, of the Kalamazoo Alliance for Equality. "Here is an opportunity to make a statement that we are creating a Kalamazoo for every citizen that's equal and fair."

This was the second proposal of its kind. The commission approved a gay rights law Dec. 1, then repealed it Jan. 12 after the American Family Association submitted petitions to force a public vote.

American Family Association of Michigan President Gary Glenn told the Kalamazoo Gazette petitions to put the gay rights law to a referendum will be on the streets Tuesday.

People from both sides of the issue say they would welcome a vote on the issue on the November ballot.

The ordinance defines sexual orientation and gender identity as:
"Male or female homosexuality, heterosexuality or bisexuality, whether by orientation or practice." That means those attracted to people of the same sex, opposite sex or both sexes cannot be discriminated against because of that.

Gender identity is defined as "a person's actual or perceived gender" based on a "self-image, appearance, expression or behavior" regardless of the person's sex at birth.

And hopefully the referendum will
go down in defeat just like in Gainsville FL. Honestly, spending all this time to fight against allowing people equal access to a roof over their head and employment....

Meanwhile, Michigan remains mired in deep recession and instead of focusing on helping those in need these "good christians" attack those that do them no harm.

Pathetic bigots.

Actually
One of the individuals not connected to either group, stood up and said basically that,

instead of

focusing on helping those in need these "good christians" attack those that do them no harm.

And he went through a list of possible causes the opponents could donate their time too. But guess what? Not one of them paused in their hate speech, instead went on to attack the LGBT community.

Let's hope this one sticks.
Glad it was gender identity inclusive, and let us all hope that his one sticks.  It is good to see that there are some people in government willing to do the right thing.

The trollish sounding blogger formerly known as BURNSEY

tip of a hat to Kalamazoo
Nice going folks, and inclusive too!

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

I find it really nice
when cities pass laws to include LGBT rights.  There is something endearing about it.  Changing federal and state laws requires a lot of money and power.. but at this level, it means that concerned citizens banded together to make sure all people can have equal footing.

No champagne, no secret service, no congressmen.. just people trying to make where they live better.  I find that inspiring.

I know we all want bigger change, but it feels like a domino ready to tip the next one.
