Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Oakland Park FL Passes Repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" City Resolution

by: Anthony Niedwiecki

Thu Jul 02, 2009 at 15:56:25 PM EDT

At the July 1st commission meeting, the Oakland Park City Commission, working with the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER), Fight OUT Loud, and many other organizations, brought forward a city resolution calling for the President and the United States Congress to adopt the Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2009 (House Resolution 1283), which eliminates the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' (DADT) policy, which bans brave and dedicated Gay and Lesbian Servicemembers from serving openly in the Military. oakpark.jpg

The resolution passed unanimously.

SLDN has been working on a nation-wide effort to get local governments to pass resolutions requesting adoption of this Federal legislation to show the overwhelming support for lifting the discriminatory ban. Brian Fricke and Matt Sampson, with SLDN and AVER, have been working with various local officials, including me and Vice Mayor Flippen of Wilton Manors, to pass these resolutions.

Oakland Park becomes only the second city in Florida and the eleventh in the Country to pass such a resolution.

Anthony Niedwiecki :: Oakland Park FL Passes Repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" City Resolution

I am so proud of my city and my fellow commissioners in Oakland Park for passing this resolution. Fighting for the equality of our citizens, supporting strong national security, and making sure everyone has the freedom to serve our country openly and honestly, without fear of discrimination or harassment, are important values for Oakland Park.

The resolution (available in full here) directs City Administration to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the President of the United States, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Reid, the Broward League of Cities, the Florida League of Cities, and the Broward County Legislative Delegation. It also will send certified copies to Representatives Ellen Tauscher, Kendrick Meek, Robert Wexler, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Ron Klein, Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Alcee Hastings, and Senators Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez, asking them to fully support the repeal of DADT.

Oakland Park has made many moves towards greater equality for all its residents in recent months, including having Non-Discrimination Policies added to all city contracts that include sexual orientation and gender identity/expression, a review of city ordinances to ensure they are inclusive of LGBT families, passing the city's first ever Pride Month Proclamation, and hosting the first LGBT Pride event in the city.

Thank You, Oakland Park!
In an all volunteer military the nation is best served by enlisting a cross-section of society who meet the physical and personal conduct standards required for service. A more inclusive military will be a more representative military.

We have a dream Obama are you with us?
I look at the situation of Lieutenant Dan Choi*, and I think America is acting more like Iran, Saudi Arabia or Russia with the don't ask don't tell rules on military service.  Should not the ban also cover heterosexuals as well if they cant to keep the rules.

*A Syrcause military board has said that Lieutenant Dan Choi, who came out on national television, should be discharged for breaking the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' law.

This will make him the first member of the New York National Guard to be discharged under the policy, which prevents military recruiters from asking about sexual orientation but also bars service members from revealing they are gay.

So where is Obama when Lieutenant Dan Choi's first amendment rights of freedom of speech and expression are trampled all over by Don't Ask, Don't Tell.  He is stuck between two promise he made to get elected one to the LGBT and the other to Christian groups.

Maybe the words of Martin Luther King, Jr can stir Obama into action.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

If all men and women are created equal why do we have these unequal rules in the military.

Love who you are on the inside and the outside will follow.

Oakland Park
This is great news! Oakland Park did the right thing. I have never served in the army. When I was 18 we still had a draft. I was categorized as 4F, unfit for service in peace and war because I am gay. I speak 10 languages and would be glad to contribute my knowledge to the protection of our country but seeing what happened to Lt Choi, I know that the USA is still not mature enough to let me help.
I am very glad to have found this blog. Keep up the good work!

You need to rewrite your headline
The way it's written, my first thought was that the city had initially passed an anti-DADT resolution and then rescinded it under pressure from homophobes. My suggestion is "...passes resolution for repeal..."
