The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Why Palin quit (including a Freeper battle cry)

by: Pam Spaulding

Sat Jul 04, 2009 at 09:00:00 AM EDT

Everyone out there has a theory -- the latest is that Sarah Palin stepped aside as governor of Alaska because she's about to get caught up in a scandal centered related to a building contractor, Spenard Building Supplies that has close ties to the Thrilla from Wasilla and her husband, Todd. Max Blumenthal at The Daily Beast explains.

Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002. The home was built just two months before Palin began campaigning for governor, a job which would have provided her enhanced power to grant building contracts in the wide-open state.

SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin's snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice's Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004.

Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few "buddies," according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information.

Sounds like an Uncle Ted Stevens kind of deal, huh?

UPDATE: With the rumors of a possible corruption charge/investigation being lodged against Palin, the FBI released a statement:

"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. "It's just not true." He added that there was "no wiggle room" in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

This story has eclipsed the 2012 presidential run speculation a bit, but it's hard not to revel over Palin's decision and the consternation it has brought to GOP operatives, who are weighing whether this is a positive or negative for the party and Palin.

[L]iberation comes at a potentially steep price. These include brutal reviews from many Republicans, who believe that quitting mid-term in the fashion she did amounts to political suicide.

“There is just no good way to say quitting has made her more qualified to run for higher office,” said veteran GOP pollster Glen Bolger.

...“I think Sarah Palin is on the verge of becoming the Miami Vice of American politics: Something a lot of people once thought was cool and then 20 years later look back, shake their heads and just kind of laugh,” quipped Republican media consultant Todd Harris.

Even those who were less critical of her choice were taken aback by Palin’s rambling, hard-to-follow news conference by the side of a lake outside her home. The performance had shades of Richard Nixon’s “You won’t have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore” news promise in 1962, as well as Mark Sanford’s bizarre exercise in self-revelation just last month.

Meanwhile, the Freepi watched Palin's news conference and apparently the swamps have turned into Bizarro land. She's about to take on the left and they are right behind her. See below the fold.

Pam Spaulding :: Why Palin quit (including a Freeper battle cry)

One Freeper put up a vanity post, "Sarah Palin just made a covert Declaration Of War":

Ever notice? When she’s angry, she starts talking a little faster, her eyes lids narrow a tad, and she talks through lips that are a bit closer together – and that faint frown of hers becomes almost permanent, yet a smile remains. She displayed all of those signs today. She didn’t say it in so many words, but if I don’t miss my bet, Sarah Palin just declared all-out war on the left – and believe me, she can wage that war like no other – as has been well demonstrated.

No, she’s not about to run off into seclusion – no, she isn’t tired of politics – and most definitely she isn’t going to join some third-party. This lady is a well-known fighter. She will gather resources, do research, write a book, and enlist an army to fight with her. When that army attacks, squish-GOP kooks and Democrats alike will run in fear, try to hide and cry for help from presstitutes and leftist media whores.

There are many on the right that think that Sarah Palin should go quietly off into the Alaskan outback to fish for salmon. Sorry about that – she will quite likely remain an Alaskan, and yes she’ll do a lot of fishing – a lot of it the political kind, and she’ll skin her political prey, barbeque and roast them – then serve them up for ridicule.

We’ve not seen the last of her – nor have those on the commie-left – all of us have only seen the beginning.

So sit back and wait – many of us will likely get a draft notice in the not distant future.

We have a population intent on fighting back hard – against criminal government, and its betrayal of America. The call to battle began weeks ago, and today as millions join in a revolution already well underway – an accomplish fighter just declared her intention to lead – full time.

Just my 2 cents...

Good lord, that's delusional. You can surf over and read the reaction to the battle cry...

Well if it's a "Covert Declaration of War" --
that means she and Todd areindeed withdrwing from the United States to form their own country in which she will be Queen.

I say Go For It!

The Freep seem to have projected onto this utterly mediocre woman
...everything they ever wanted to be or want to be. I don't know; she seems like the most run-of-the-mill, unimpressive opportunist that I've ever seen in politics. She's cute, in a sort of 'your Mom's not completely hideous, man' way. A nobody, from nowhere, with nothing to say and no way in which to say it. A mall queen. One of a million, not one IN a million.

Yet, the Kristol PNAC brigade have been stuffing her with their expectations as well. She's their preferred puppet. God alone knows why; the appetite for cozy idiots in America seems to have run dry for the time being.

maybe they got used to bush
and want a malleable puppet in the white house. yeah, i know she's a b*tchy diva, but those are sometimes the easiest to control.

Willow: It's horrible! That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil and... skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay.
Buffy: Willow, just remember, a vampire's personality has nothing to do with the person it was.
Angel: Well, actually... That's a good point.

[ Parent ]
Having a cozy puppet worked for them in the 80s,
and they can't seem to let go of the belief that it'll work again.  I've always loved Gore Vidal's comment that the GOP's movers and shakers hired an actor to play president while they did the real work behind the scenes.  But the operative word is actor.  Granted, Reagan was a bad actor, but he at least had the benefit of his years at Warner Brothers to guide him.  Which is to say, he know how to play a supporting part with a bit of style and technique.  The other clowns the GOP has fastened on--Bush, Jindal, Sanford, Huckabee, and dear, dear, Sarah Palin--couldn't hold their own against the chimp in our national remake of Bedtime for Bonzo.

Lets not forget Bob Dornan
He was in a couple of movies.  I even saw one on MST3K.

Episode 612, "The Starfighters"

She's guilty of something
Listen to this nonsensical rambling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

She keeps talking about not wanting to waste millions on politics, on "Superficial, Wasteful, Political Bloodsport."

She never goes into detail about what the "Superficial, Wasteful, Political Bloodsport" is about.

She is under investigation for something and she knows she's guilty and she's trying to run and hide. That's my feeling.

I think this story has only just begun.

P.S. - Pam, stories like this and your way of presenting them and then follow it up with the funny freeper comments.  This is why I come here.

Besser ein ende mit Schrecken als ein Schrecken ohne ende

Crazy ? You betcha

I learned so much. She's for freedom, and energy independence, and the troops, and freedom, and rejecting politics as usual, and freedom, and fishing, and Alaska, and freedom. Oh yeah, and she's a victim of a vast media conspiracy to bury her many accomplishments and distort her record.

Same-Sex Marriage is good for the economy.

[ Parent ]
And
She is also a maverick.

[ Parent ]
What gets me is the anti-'lame duck' sh*t
What exactly does she expect governments to do whose legislative sessions end before the terms of their executives?  Have no executives?

Yes - I'm sure there are some in the anti-government crowd who'd love that...

until they need something that only a governor can give.  You know - like a pardon.  Or, more seriously, an appointment.  Some people wanted Jesse Ventura to treat his last few months as Minnesota governor as a joke (and others assumed he would) or something meaningless and simply resign to let his Lt Gov become the first female governor of the state for a few weeks or months.  He said no, because he was the one elected and no one knows what might happen - such as one of the state's senators dying in a still-inadequately-explained airplane crash.

Beyond all of that though, what does the rambling incoherence about 'lame duck'-ness say about this woman's knowledge of how government works in general?  Presidents, governors and mayors are not simply husks who drool on the bottom lines of bills presented to them.  They are the heads of the administrative branches of government.

>^..^<

[ Parent ]
Another war...
I actually hope that person is right -- that she is about to declare an all-out war on the left, because that could potentially do more to help the progressive left than anything else I could imagine.

When she opens her mouth, I rejoice at my chosen spot on the political spectrum.

That being said, if she does do this, I may need a stomach replacement.

Pathetic!
I couldn't think of a more fitting leader for the batshit insane Freepi. They can only gaze in awe at Palin's vapidness and stupidity!

And if Palin tanks,
they've always got Miss California.

and Speidi
Seriously, what kind of kool aid are they drinking?

What worries me is that, with the increase in this celebutards hijacking the media, we are likely to face an increase in them doing the same in politics.  This is why, I think, Palin has been able to get such crazy "ditto-head" support when she is clearly and willfully ignorant of critical issues and been able to create other media circuses a la the Letterman issue.  It's all fun and games until she gets some real power

Ms. Wasilla
Sarah noticed all the "spokeswoman for the conservative Christian movement" attention Carrie Prejean received and thought, "Hey -- I'm a beauty queen! I can do that, too!"

[ Parent ]
I wanted
to go through this thread and preempt the (apparently) inevitable by posting a comment after each comment here, describing all the minute, varied, and ultimately petty ways someone could be offended by a word. Yeah, I just finished slogging my painful (privileged, elitist, ableist, ageist, white, misogynistic, sexist, liberalist, mental disorder prejudiced - anything I missed? I'm sure someone else will be kind enough to point it out) way through the last Sarah Palin thread.

Instead of throwing gasoline on the fire, I've decided it's probably a good idea for me to take a break until this little experiment in societal disorder is done. I'm hopeful that things can then go back to the way they were before, where we talked to each other, instead of a few Holding Forth at the rest of us.

Probably some mental disorder of my own, for which I should be suitably medicated and join a support group, but I just don't respond well to being lectured at. It rankles. And if I wasn't so privileged, I'd probably know that the root of the word rankles is some horrible slur against this or that group from three hundred years ago, but I'm an elitist, privileged white male, so I don't have to bother.

Cause any fool knows, a dog needs a home; a shelter from pigs on the wing

It would have been nice...
...if you'd actually meant this:
Instead of throwing gasoline on the fire

Good luck dealing with your white male privilege, though.

Why does it bother you so much to be asked to drop misogynist language on a feminist blog?
I don't get it.

Well, I mean, yeah I do -- men are men, and even queer men have been known to wallow in male privilege, but why do it here of all places?

It's really that important to you to make sure women know our place?

It's pronounced "Keeva."

[ Parent ]
So you think the proper way to take "revenge"
on all the nasty, privileged, white males is to bore them to death?  And to bore all the women here to bloody tears as well?  Yeah, that'll work wonders for you.

Being a shrill nag and making enemies of people who've established clearly that they agree with you is just plain stu----well, let's just say it isn't going to win you any friends.

Every single thread!
This is why PHB has jumped the shark. We have these horrible trolls who go through every thread looking for words and phrases that they can point to as being sexist, racist, transphobic, etc.

They are relentless in their bullying and ruin the experience for everyone.

I am going to call these people "blog Nazis" -- just because I know how much being "compared" to Nazis pisses them off.

If all you do is troll through these threads, looking for ways to use your propaganda tactics on reasonable people who are taking the time to share honest opinions, you are worthy of the blog Nazi graphic.

I won't use the hot button word "Nazi", but most people will get the graphic that features the Seinfeld soup Nazi.

Nixon
Yes, I was reminded of RMN's "You won't have Nixon to kick around any more" press conference of 1962.  Of course, six years later he was elected to the White House.  Eek!

I read the other Palin thread
and boy did it seem unwieldy to even take on.

She quit this is good, she should have waited til the end of her term though.. instead of making this silly, rambling speech.  It was a poor excuse for a tongue-lashing.  I didn't even know what to make of it.

Judging her on her political actions alone, she wasn't cut out for the job.  In no way was she ready to be veepee.  She's not even a stones throw away from being Prez in 2012.

That being said, how will she make this so called "war" after such a weak speech?  How will people rally behind her as a leader if all she will do is quit when the stakes get to high?  Politicians get slammed all the time, if she can't deal with that... time for a new career!

Yeah... now she is a QUITTER!
Just what we need for Commander in Chief. Imagine her asking her children if she should nuke North Korea or not?

Does she have frinds on the state personnel board too?
I was looking at an article coving the 15 Ethics complaints filed against Palin and noticed that the state personnel board dismissed many of the complaints over and over again. Check it out http://www.adn.com/palin/story...

I could be off on this but it seems Palin always has someone up her sleeve to get her out of the spotlight when she's done something questionable.

"This is classic Sarah Palin, the mixture of the personal and political," says Michael Carey, an Anchorage talk show host. "It's all done ad hoc. There's no strategic plan. It's, 'This is what I'm going to do, baby. Here we go,' " Carey said in a phone interview. A Washington friend with whom Palin spoke Friday morning said the soon-to-be ex-Governor of Alaska doesn't have a concrete plan going forward but she plans on working on her book - bought by HarperCollin's in May - and helping Republican candidates. The friend also said that Palin, who will step down July 25, had become increasingly unhappy with the media scrutiny, her battles with the state legislature, the 15 ethics complaints filed against her by outside progressive groups and politics as a whole.

If she is unhappy with media scrutiny then she is going to have a hell of a time if she plans to run for president in 2012.
"Some are going to question the timing of this and let me just say that this decision has been in the works for a while. In fact this decision comes after much consideration," Palin said, holding up her left index finger as she amended her thought, "Much prayer and consideration. And finally, I polled the most important people in my life, my kids. And the count was unanimous. While in response to asking, 'Hey, do you want me to be a positive influence and fight for all our children's futures from outside the governor's office?' it was four yeses and one 'Hell, yeah.' The 'Hell, yeah' sold it."

If I hear one more story about asking her kids what she should do I'll retch. This pissed me off when she was on the VP ticket and asked her preteen daughter about her opinion on raising taxes for the rich. I think her daughter said something to the effect of "gee mommy that doesn't seem fair, why should they/we have to pay more because they/we make more".
Good riddance Sarah. Alaska will be a better place without your influence in the governor's position.

I think she does
and I think she appointed them too

[ Parent ]
Yawn
This reminds me of watching the McLaughlin Group, and seeing that conservative lady (I forget her name) insist that Sarah Palin was a force to be reckoned with, not to be taken lightly, and that Democrats 'underestimate her at their peril!'

Right. Lots of high-blown rhetoric, a vaguely worded threat that ultimately proved to be futile, and that's about it.

The GOP's central problem these days is that its 'purge' of liberal Republicans has been so successful that now the only people that can win GOP primaries are extremist conservatives. And sure, those folks can win in some parts of this country, but not on the national stage. This leads to a fairly consistent pattern for those running for statewide offices such as Governor or Senator and for nationwide office. They win the primary overwhelmingly, and then lose the general election pitifully. And then they wring their hands in frustration over why Joe Sixpack is just not as conservative as they are.

My dad was a steelworker
My mom was a kitchen girl

I'm a socialist.
-from an old song I used to hum to myself

New Career for Palin
Sarah Palin resigned to take Billy Mays' job. She can chop onions for baby seal stew without crying.

This certainly looks like a crash and burn career move.
Sarah Palin, quitter.

During that bizarro announcement, I was reminded of "you won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore," but as has been noted already, you know what happened to his White House aspirations after that.  We most definitely do have second (and third, fourth, etc) acts in American politics. Still, don't you have to be a legitimate actor to be in the play? Of course, that's assuming that the Republican Party will be a legitimate national party in the immediate future.

I think she has a future on the national stage as one of the nattering nabobs on TV or talk radio.

Palin's ugly house
During the presidential campaign I predicted that the Palin's house would be the item that would eventually bring Sarah down. I'm a residential contractor and the means of construction of the house smelled like a dead salmon floating downstream. However the statement in the article above, about blocking building permits to prevent disclosure of who provided the building materials does not follow. In a building permit you generally disclose the contractor and subcontractors, but not the supplier of materials.

Jim Garaghty said it best
The lesson that the ruthless corners of the political world will take from the rise, fall, and departure of Sarah Palin that if you attack a politician's children nastily enough and relentlessly enough, you can get anybody to quit.

When a national commentator can make jokes about raping your 14 year old daughter, and not lose his job, it's time to hunker down.

Seriously, does anyone here believe that if this happened to anyone on the Left, it would have been contenanced? From the racist smears from the fictitious "Lucille" that made front page news, to Andrew Sullivan's peculiar views about her grandkids parentage, this has crossed new bounds.

I think her children are in real danger.

There is no situation so complex it can't get even worse

please tell me you're being facetious
Letterman's joke was tacky but it was NOT a rape joke (and I'm sure Palin doesn't really think it was either, she just knows making outlandish accusations keep her in the press).

[ Parent ]
For starters,
Letterman is no national commentator, he's an over the hill late night TV comic. I believe his protestation that he (or his writers, more likely) believed that it was the oldest daughter that was at the baseball game; hence, having willing sex with that baseball player would hardly constitute rape. But you know all that.

If you want to protest that Letterman is a pig and that what passes for humor or national discourse has sunk to depressing levels of coarseness and stupidity, then you'll have a lot of people on board with you.

I'm not clear about the other examples you gave, but if you honestly think that those elected officials from the center-left aren't subject to the same or worse, then you better go up on the roof and adjust your antenna to pull in the northern hemisphere and its news. Vince Foster murdered by the Clintons? Anything out of the mouth of Rush Limbaugh and his ilk?

There was a reason that the children of the Clintons and the Bushes were basically off-limits to the MSM. They weren't trotted out as props. I was getting bad feelings about the way the Obama kids were all over the airwaves in the beginning, but that seems to have dies down some.

[ Parent ]
Can't you see that some have gone off the rails?
From Paliban Daily:
That's right. Palin is about to embark on a career of causing babies to be born retarded. Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, crack addiction, or a good old-fashioned kick to the pregnant tummy, it doesn't matter to Palin. She wants the world to have more Trigs.

Other than fueling a greater need for social services, think how this could benefit Palin politically. She already tests well with the Retarded demographic, and also the Retarded Sympathizer demographic.

Imagine the world Palin is trying to create, in which instead of a superior race, Palin breeds a stupider race. 20 years from now, she'll only be in her late 60s. She'll be able to run for President on the Retard ticket . . . no doubt with full support of Retardeds, Retarded Sympathizers, and the Politically-Correct.

Next time around, when Palin is told "Your platform is completely retarded", she will be able to say, "You betcha! That's just what my constituents want!"

Can't you see that this is beyond the pale? The kind of thing we might expect from Focus on the Family, MassResistance, and those of that ilk? And no, it's not just on some obscure blog somewhere, but HuffPo?

There is no situation so complex it can't get even worse

Those are just plain hate speech - not humor.

I can't believe HuffPo allows that crap to be posted.  If you want to say Palin wants to dumb down the country (and, IMNSHO, she does) you talk about how she and her supporters cultivate an antipathy towards knowledge, blatant disregard for those pesky facts and a tenuous (at best) relationship with reality.  What is posted here is just so wrong and mean-spirited even the word heinous doesn't seem to adequately describe it. HuffPo diminishes itself by allowing it to be published on their site.

[ Parent ]
Off the rails?
Certainly. But I disapprove of a lot that passes for humor or commentary these days. Do you recognize the authors of either of those examples you posted?  I don't. I also tend not to pause for dead baby and 9/11 jokes.

But I thought your contention is that only the Right (or women on the Right?) have been subjected to crap like this. That's simply not so.

All I know is that you have to think globally and act locally.

Civility begins at home.
