The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

"North East NOM", er, "Stand For Marriage Maine" in Hiding?

by: Louise

Wed Jul 15, 2009 at 16:30:00 PM EDT

Click here for the recent "emotional marriage debate" in Maine between Portland Diocese's Marc Mutty and Maine Freedom To Marry's Jesse Connolly.

Oh, this is hilarious- so much for any sort of honesty or transparency, let alone full disclosure!

Portland Press Herald's Bill Nemitz has an incredible column today. Check out some excerpts (emphasis mine):

Now, as the campaign to repeal Maine's same-sex marriage law shifts into high gear, fear is once again in the air. Only this time it's not the homosexual community that's quaking.

It's their opponents.

"I know what you're saying - there is some irony there," agreed Marc Mutty, now on leave from his job as public affairs director for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland to run Stand for Marriage Maine.

Still, Mutty said, "We feel like the minority that's being discriminated against. We are being treated like pariahs everywhere we go."

A recent e-mail to the staff at the Portland diocese, forwarded to me this week by someone using the pseudonym "M. Luther," offers this advice to the diocesan staff:

"For security reasons, please do not give the physical location of the SFMM (Stand for Marriage Maine) office to anyone. It's imperative that no one else know the location."

Have a steaming cup of paranoia, folks?

Doesn't a 501c3 like SFMM have to disclose information to the public, like their physical location and such?

The e-mail also instructed staff members, should they receive any "marriage" calls, to "direct the angry mobs to the toll-free number or invite them to visit the SFMM website."

Sitting Monday afternoon inside Stand for Marriage Maine's headquarters, an unmarked office in Yarmouth, Mutty said he authorized the e-mail. The "angry mobs" reference, he said, was tongue-in-cheek and not meant for public consumption.

Asked why repeal proponents are so worried about their safety, Mutty cited "what happened in California."

More recently, Mutty said, consultants from California who were hired to help with the Maine repeal effort have warned repeatedly that this is dangerous business and security should be of paramount concern.

To be clear, Mutty said, it's not the "organized opposition" here in Maine that has Stand for Marriage Maine on alert. Rather, he said, it's the "fringe groups" from away.

"Maine is now ground zero in the (same-sex marriage) debate," Mutty said. "And the activists on both sides know that."

No kidding. Tell me about the folks from away.

Tell me even more about them, Mutty.

More below.

Louise :: "North East NOM", er, "Stand For Marriage Maine" in Hiding?
So how about the Maine Freedom To Marry camp? What say they?

Stand for Marriage Maine's secretive ways contrast sharply with the see-through strategy of the Maine Freedom to Marry coalition.

Jesse Connolly, campaign manager for Maine Freedom to Marry, said his group plans a grand opening of its headquarters on outer Forest Avenue in Portland in the next week or two - and the public is invited.

"Our whole effort is volunteer-driven," Connolly said. "And our volunteers need to know where we are - so we'll be publicizing that throughout the state."

Beyond the logistical advantages to having an actual address, Connolly said his organization is "totally transparent" and looks forward to operating a "very welcoming and open office."

"Maine is a much different place from California," Connolly said, adding, "I'm not sure where (the opposition's) fears are coming from."

I'm guessing Brian Brown and Maggie Gallagher are getting a tad antsy about Maine... and that's exact;y where the paranoia "fear" is coming from.

You know how I'm going to end this one and I thank  everyone in advance:

'Mutty cited "what happened in California." '
and was allowed to get away with it, apparently.  because as far as i know, NOTHING happened in california.  except of course the violence against the civil rights of a minority, but that doesn't involve fake xtian martyrdom, so never mind.

WHY aren't the Mutty's of the world required to cite specifics.  This journalist was clearly not buying Mutt's line, and still didn't bother to check the misinformation.  Grrr!

Here's what he said
From the article:

During last fall's successful campaign to constitutionally ban same-sex marriage in California, Mutty said, "Churches were desecrated, donors were identified and harassed by the other side, and businesses (that supported the repeal) were blackballed."

So I guess he's been informed by Brian and Maggie about the Coyote Restaurant story.

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

yeah.
but he's still allowed to get away with blanket statements like that.  "churches were desecrated" - such open ended statements allow people to visualize their worst nightmares.  i think the worst thing i heard of was some outside graffiti.  the fact that he doesn't list the horrors should make any journalist suspect that there are no horrors.

Anyone, not just journalists
Should make any journalist suspect? How 'bout should make anyone suspect who didn't just arrive here from interior New Guinea? It would have been all over the media - controversy involving gays sells, big time - if anything remotely like these lies had actually happened.

Stand for Marriage
The haters have been using this propaganda since last November - that the thousands of gays who protested against the passage of Prop 8 in California behaved uncivilly, even violently. It's an obvious ploy to discredit us as a bunch of scary, crazed, and, of course, intolerant, "radicals". Anyway, I'm glad our chief opponent in Maine seems to be the Catholic church. Apparently the dim bulbs are still unaware of just how badly discredited they are after two decades of pedophile scandals.

Of course its a spin
Worse still they are cowering in a corner having ripped their own shirts and blacked their own eye in a blatant attempt to discredit our community. However, as laughable as it may seem this sort of thing works very well in uniting the religious base. Those who attend church on a a regular basis and trust in the rumors they here before and after service more than they trust in the news media and the wide world.

The fact is this fraudulent sympathy move is less laughable as it is sad. Because there are still so many who easily believe that our community is to blame for all of the negative reaction to the religious community. Then again we are speaking of an opposing group which is permitted to where the mantle or be perceived as a religious group when the truth is they are nothing near a religious organization and not given to religious standards of truth or accountability that even the smallest religious group should possess.

NOM is trying to win on hearsay, rhetoric and propaganda and it is working for them. We should recognize this and consider it in our musing. It may be that we need not make contact with every community to refute their claims rather than simply go after the source of such propaganda by pointing out their anti-religious and anti-democratic attitudes.

Always thinking about it...

"Dangerous business"
I wonder if Portland Press Herald's Bill Nimitz isn't being used - if they weren't intending all along that the media got wind of this e-mail warning darkly of the grave dangers the innocent little "defenders of marriage" faced at the hands of the terrorist gays. Hence the use of a pseudonym by the e-mail leaker to make it appear the "top secret" security message was only meant for the staff and he or she would be in big trouble if found out. Sounds like the kind of underhanded tactic the oh-so-moral wingers long ago perfected.

Need some help; we're down 200 right now. It's in the lower right-hand side of the page.

Victimization sells
and the 'yes' votes are winning.

The Antis and Anitas in WA are using the same victim spin....look what mileage they got out of the WhoSigned pr mess.

Wish it were this easy
in November.

All we need is a clear majority... about 110 days until the election, I think. One of the guys at EQME has an actual countdown going!

The NO's are in the lead
At 6:45 PM, the no votes were 96 higher than the yes votes.  Some 4700 votes have been cast.  For some reason, the site takes a long time to re-load and up-date.  Have patience.  Also, they have an anti-spam password to copy into a block in order for the vote to proceed.  It is slow, but wait for it.

Yes (repeal)   2424
No  let stand) 2520

LGBT reprisals are a real concern
NOM offices may be broken into and given tasteful window treatments.

And evangelical ministers may be mugged and the Brylcreem washed out of their hair; their Wayne Newton moustaches will also be shaved off....

Cars may parade up and won the streets outside of the businesses of NOM supporters playing Melissa Etheridge songs with the wondows rolled down....

Oh, the horror, the horror...
