Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

BET co-founder, billionaire Sheila Johnson supports homophobe running for governor of VA

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Jul 23, 2009 at 13:00:00 PM EDT

Uh, uh. No bleeping way this is going to slip under the radar. Black Entertainment Television co-founder Sheila Johnson, a multi-billionaire with money to spend to support any pol she wishes, has opened her wallet for anti-gay Republican Bob McDonnell, who is running for governor of Virginia. (Rod 2.0):
"Several years ago, Mr. McDonnell sought to block the reappointment of a Newport News Circuit Judge named Verbina Askew because she was allegedly gay. [McDonnell] went to great pains to assert that the judge's sexual orientation did not matter to him; rather, the fact that she may have violated Virginia anti-sodomy statute in force at the time, which prohibited oral and anal sex, was a factor to consider in her reappointment.

Said McDonnell at the time, 'It [possible sodomy] certainly raises some questions about the qualifications to serve as a judge. There is certain homosexual conduct that is in violation of the law. I'm not telling you I would disqualify a judge per se if he said he was gay. I'm talking about their actions.' "

More from McDonnell's campaign site:
Jefferson wrote that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights-life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  I believe this great truth applies to every American - born and unborn, and as Governor I will defend innocent human life.

...Bob McDonnell believes marriage is the union between one man and one woman. As a legislator, Bob McDonnell was chief sponsor and author of a constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage (Chief Patron, HJ 187, 2004). As Attorney General, Bob supported Virginia's marriage amendment and wrote an official opinion explaining that it would not affect the current legal rights of unmarried persons.

Below the fold, McDonnell's press release on Johnson's endorsement.

Here you  go...I guess gay and lesbian families are shut out in their vision of his executive leadership.
Sheila Crump Johnson Endorses Bob McDonnell for Governor

Middleburg Resident is Co-Founder of Black Entertainment Television, a Local Business Owner and Noted Philanthropist and Entrepreneur

RICHMOND- Sheila Crump Johnson, co- founder of Black Entertainment Television, local Middleburg business owner and noted philanthropist and entrepreneur, today endorsed Bob McDonnell in his campaign for governor. The announcement was made at a mid-afternoon press conference in downtown Richmond.

Speaking about the endorsement, Johnson said, "Make no mistake, these are tough economic times for all Virginians. Unemployment is on the rise and families are struggling to stay in their homes. We need bold and innovative leadership to move our state forward and that's why I've chosen to support Bob McDonnell for Governor.  He has shown me that he has the right vision and the executive leadership skills that will guide Virginia through these challenging times. He understands that we have to help businesses in our state - both big and small - thrive so that we put Virginians back to work. I'm proud to endorse Bob McDonnell to be our next governor."

Bob McDonnell noted, "Sheila Johnson is known worldwide for her business acumen, artistic talent, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to helping others. Here in the Commonwealth she is one of our leading citizens as a businesswoman, employer, developer, charitable donor and passionate advocate for her many causes. I have gotten to know Sheila, and I know she takes her political endorsements very seriously. We share a mutual commitment to revitalizing Virginia's economy, getting Virginians back to work and ensuring that the same opportunities that we have both been blessed by will still be there for future generations."

McDonnell continued, "We are running a positive campaign dedicated to bringing people together to create new jobs and more opportunities in Virginia. Today's announcement speaks to the growing support for our effort. I am tremendously honored to have received Sheila's endorsement. I look forward to working with her in the years ahead as we get Virginia's economy back on track and our citizens back to work."

About Sheila C. Johnson

Sheila C. Johnson is the CEO of Salamander Hospitality, a company she founded in 2005. As CEO, Ms. Johnson oversees a growing portfolio of luxury properties including Woodlands Inn in Summerville, South Carolina and Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club (a 900 acre, 72-hole resort) in Innisbrook, Florida.  In 2008, Salamander Hospitality began construction on Salamander Resort & Spa, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Middleburg, Virginia. When the resort opens in spring 2011, it is poised to become one of the most unique and sought after retreats in the world. Ms. Johnson presently owns Market Salamander and Salamander Touch also located in Middleburg.

As a partner in Lincoln Holdings, Ms. Johnson is the only African-American woman to have ownership in three professional sports teams: the WNBA's Washington Mystics, the NBA's Washington Wizards and the NHL's Washington Capitals. Ms. Johnson serves as President and Managing Partner of the Mystics.  Ms. Johnson is also a partner in ProJet Aviation, a comprehensive aviation service company specializing in aviation consulting, aircraft acquisitions, management, and charter services based in Winchester, Virginia.

Ms. Johnson has long been a powerful influence in the entertainment industry as a founding partner of Black Entertainment Television (BET) and most recently as a film producer. In partnership with other investors, her first film, Kicking It, premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT. She served as sole executive producer on her second film, A Powerful Noise, which premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival in New York. As a philanthropist, she has been a strong advocate of CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. An avid supporter of the arts and an accomplished violinist, Ms. Johnson serves as Chair of the Board of Governors of Parsons The New School for Design in New York, a board member of the Americans for the Arts, and a supporter of VH1 Save the Music Foundation.  She sits on the boards of the Tiger Woods Foundation, The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia, and the University of Illinois Foundation. Johnson is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Illinois, as well as honorary degrees from numerous other institutions. Ms. Johnson lives in Middleburg, Virginia.

Surely if she "takes her political endorsements very seriously," she knows McDonnell's stand on civil rights...for all people. And she's willing to overlook his support of the Commonwealth's onerous marriage discrimination amendment and lack of support for any pro-LGBT rights legislation.

Of course she could
simply be indifferent to LGBT issues. Has she commented on LGBT rights in the past?

The fact that she supported a Republican would probably raise more eyebrows than anything else. Has she done that before?

She and her husband
are PUMA's. They supported Hillary Clinton, remember?

[ Parent ]
Well, isn't she special
Obviously the LGBT community needs to do some education or outreach to her......

Yeah we need to reach out to her--
WITH A TON TEN MONTY PYTHON WEIGHT!

It's a Sixteen Ton Weight CMcM!
Went to watch the video and you were six tons off...but did laugh and enjoy...thanks!

Something tells me she may not be our advocate
From ESPN article....

With a private jet at her disposal, she'll pop into Dallas to chat with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, or to Sacramento to mix it up with the Maloofs, who own the Kings and Monarchs, or even to this year's Super Bowl in Miami, where she was inspired by Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith, the first African-American coaches in the Super Bowl.

"I loved it," Johnson says. "I was there. It was historical and they set the bar so high. They're both Christian coaches, to see the pictures in The New York Times of the coaches and their teams praying together really kind of sent chills through my body. I was very touched, not only because we had two African-American coaches for the first time and because Tony was the first black coach to win the Super Bowl, but the fact that they had such a strong moral compass. That's really lacking now."

Sounds like she is a fundie
and fundies are always opposed to us.

BET awards had religious theme
Maybe do to Sheila.  While it was a tribute to Michael Jackson, Beyonce Knowles sang "Ave Maria" wearing a transparent white wedding gown and veil.  Very surreal, and unexpected.
The link is a funny spoof.

She Can Stick Her Money Where the Sun Doesn't Shine
Once people get rich they get stupid.

Just because Sheila Johnson is African American doesn't mean she's automatically sympathetic to LGBT issues. Just look at Marion Barry and Alan Keyes?

People ask, "How have you guys managed to stay so long?" I tell them, "Don't sweat the small stuff." It's mostly small stuff.

It would be sodomy and that is a sin
if she put her money where you suggested.
Why, even a Lesbian is a sodomite and unqualified to be a judge...

Doesn't Government have more important issues
than who sleeps with whom and what they do in the privacy of their bedroom?

[McDonnell] went to great pains to assert that the judge's sexual orientation did not matter to him; rather, the fact that she may have violated Virginia anti-sodomy statute in force at the time, which prohibited oral and anal sex, was a factor to consider in her reappointment.

When did the alleged violations of Virginia's anti-sodomy statutes occur?  What proof does McDonnell have?  Is he such a perv and so obsessed with "gay sex" that he stalks anyone he suspects?

No there is NOTHING more important that who sleeps with whom
Except of course if you're a resident of the C Street House. Then you're protected by the Big Invisible Bi-Polar Daddy Who Lives in the Sky.

[ Parent ]
Don't you mean the C Street Whorehouse?
Or are they still whores if they have sex with you for free?  And are you a whore if only take money from your Senator's parents for having sex with him?  At any rate, the legislators living there have earned the whore title, even if their many adulterous partners have not.

[ Parent ]
Let's see if I have this correct:
A black business executive, whose entertainment business is dependent upon the Black communuty, is supporting a member of a party opposed to affirmative action and that was previously opposed to race based hate crime laws..do I have this correct?

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

That's right, Maura
What, did people think that all PUMAs were white or something? There are pockets of the black community that were (and are) that loyal to the Clintons.

This is strictly an anti-Obama move that has little or nothing to do with LGBTs.

[ Parent ]
Well,
When I heard this on the news I was very confused.  My first thought was, "Should I stop going to the Mystics games because my money will probably end up in McDonnell's pockets?"  I have seen Mrs. Johnson with lesbians in her box at the games.  I would guess almost half of the Mystics fans are lesbians.  She said her decision was based on McDonnell bringing jobs to Virginia.  LGBT issues probably never crossed her mind.

Not so sure about that....
see my post above. Mrs. Johnson is an astute business person and probably doesn't want to alienate the Mystic's primary fan base.  btw, I'm a WNBA fan myself.

[ Parent ]
Sadly for Virginia...
the Democratic candidate for governor, Creigh Deeds, also voted in favor of the anti-marriage-equality amendment in 2006. So in this state we have nobody on our side now at all. The difference is that Deeds is merely lousy while McDonnell is horrifying. I am so sick of this backward excuse for a state and their utter lack of equality.

Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride
