The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Last Day: "Urge Connecticut AG to Challenge DOMA Campaign" Please Help

by: JohnVisser

Fri Aug 14, 2009 at 00:59:37 AM EDT

(Time is short! - promoted by Lurleen)

Just call the Connecticut Attorney General, Richard Blumenthal, at 860-808-5318.

And send an e-mail while you're at it: attorney.general@po.state.ct.us

Just a quick note will do to urge the AG to join Massachusetts in suing the feds over the unconstitutional DOMA.

Thank you.

(Some background from Lurleen):  The Hartford Courant recently summed up the situation:

A national grassroots campaign is urging Connecticut's attorney general, Richard Blumenthal, to join Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley and sue the U.S. government over the discriminatory and blighted Defense of Marriage Act.

Better known as DOMA, the nearly 13-year-old federal law that denies married same-sex couples federal marriage benefits, according to Defend the Law. That Massachusetts-based organization, founded by a Boston College law student, is asking Connecticut residents to contact the attorney general between Aug. 10 and 14 to urge him to file suit, and protect marriage equality in the state.

Tried cleaning this up a little too.

Here is the text of my email:

Dear Attorney General Blumenthal,

As a gay American who daily feels the sting of discrimination, I urge you to join with the courageous action of your peer in Massachusetts and challange the Defense of Marriage Act in Federal Court.

This Act (DOMA) clearly violates my rights under the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution in that it allows states to deny their gay and lesbian citizens the Equal Protection of the Law. All considerations of the so-called 'religious' objections to marriage equality for all citizens, straight or gay, must be put aside. This issue is about the County Clerk, not the local parish.

Please join this lawsuit and uphold your oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

Thank you.

I called and sent an email
The staffer who answered the phone was really nice. My email:

Good afternoon, sir. My name is [redacted]. I am a [redacted] High School graduate, a veteran, and very proud to call Connecticut my home. It is my home of record in my military service record. My family still resides in [redacted]. My father was a writer and editor at the Courant for over 20 years. Despite living many miles away, I still read the Courant online. The day I read the news that the Connecticut State Supreme Court had ruled in favor of marriage equality, my happiness and surprise overflowed and I cried tears of joy. I sat at my desk, 5,000 miles away in Hawaii, and let it sink in that my home state was now a place I could be welcomed as a full citizen, with the same family protections and constitutional rights as everyone else. You see, in addition to being a proud Connecticut native, I am also a lesbian. If I came home to be legally married, my marriage would not be recognized by the federal government, nor in the state in which I currently live. My wife and I would be legally strangers, second-class citizens in our own country, for which we have both fought in the Uniformed Services.

It doesn't have to be this way. DOMA is unconstitutional. It denies equal federal benefits and protections to a specific class of people whose marriages and families are recognized and honored by the state. It violates the Full Faith and Credit Clause of our Constitution by allowing states to decline to honor legal contracts made in another state. DOMA is unconstitutional, it is wrong, it is born of hate, it is harmful. It divides and pits states against each other. It is truly unamerican. I am writing to urge you to join the state of Massachusetts in the lawsuit to strike down DOMA.

I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that I would bear true faith and allegiance to the same. You took a similar oath. Please, for my sake, and the sake of all America's LGBT law-abiding, tax-paying citizens, please join the state of Massachusetts in this suit to overturn the most unamerican of federal laws. This Massachusetts-born, Connecticut-raised, U.S. Navy veteran, gay citizen urges you to do the right thing.

Thank you for your time, sir.

I think high-level public servants like the AG, governors and Members of Congress can't be reminded of this fundamental duty often enough, especially when it's also been undertaken by the letter writer.  For me this is the most powerful part of your excellent letter.

Just my 2 cents.

Excellent letter!

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

Yes, great letter
I made mine short because you covered all bases.

Dear Attorney General Blumenthal,
Just a quick note to urge you to join Massachusetts in suing the feds over the unconstitutional DOMA.  I have not filed Federal Income Taxes since 2004 due to our status as second class citizens, but you have my promise that I will pay every penny I owe if allowed to file jointly with my spouse when DOMA is no longer law.
Kindest regards
Charles Merrill

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone who called, wrote or e-mailed to CT AG Blumenthal this week!! We shall see in the coming weeks if he decides to be a hero or a typical politician.

Close the GayTM. Only give to candidates who have actually done something other than make promises - most are just pandering for our cash.
