Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

AZ: 'Warrior' GOP congressional candidate brandishes heavy duty weaponry in campaign ads

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Aug 25, 2009 at 06:00:00 AM EDT

Ah, yes, that's what our military training means to The Base, who see service to the country not as badge of honor, but an intimidation factor to market to the red meat birthers, freepers and know-nothings. Meet Jesse Kelly from Tucson, who intends to unseat Dem Gabrielle Giffords (8th district). WingNutDaily pumps up this gun-blazing candidate.

Now, a U.S. Marine who helped lead the initial charge into Iraq to oust Saddam Hussein is taking that approach literally by brandishing his M-16 assault rifle in some eye-catching campaign fundraising ads.

...While he says he always loved politics, he never had a desire to be a politician.

But that all changed with the election of Barack Obama – whom Kelly calls a "radical president" – and the signing of the stimulus bill "monstrosity."

"They're spending us off the cliff!" he exclaimed. "They're destroying this nation, and while I'm still breathing, I will not let it happen. It's time to be 'in your face.'"

..."These are citizens concerned about a government takeover of one-sixth of the economy," Kelly said, explaining Americans are not ready to give life-and-death decisions to Obama.

Kelly recently hijacked a town hall meeting after Rep. Giffords combined that event with another at a different location. Here's a sample of Kelly's original "fresh" thinking:

Kelly told the story of an Oregon woman whose expensive cancer treatment was denied by the state health plan, which he said opted instead to provide drugs for physician-assisted death at a much lower cost.

There’s your death panel, ladies and gentlemen,” he told the crowd, echoing language used by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and other opponents of proposed healthcare bills in Congress who say they would lead to government bureaucrats making end-of-life decisions.

I don’t want the government to tell me, tell someone I love, they’re not worth it,” Kelly added. “When we say government takeover, that’s what it is because that’s what it will turn out to be.”

I don't know, he might be a gift horse with a mouth...
*"I don't want the government to tell me, tell someone I love, they're not worth it," Kelly added. "When we say government takeover, that's what it is because that's what it will turn out to be."*

quick response: So you wouldn't be adverse to the idea if it was some American whom you had no love for?

This guy has poser written all over him. Especially with all those military pics of him in spot on clean uniforms and motor pool style backgrounds that might cause other veterans to doubt his altruistic participation in any conflict. Gotta love the non-standard issue Ray Bans! LoL

Always thinking about it...

My son in the Army has a name for the guys who pose with spotless uniforms
They are called "FOBbits" (pronounced  fobbits)

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

More macho chest pounding for votes.
Wanna bet the next set of ads will let us know he pees against walls.

O_o

Dena

Cisgender. Because "Genetic" (or non) is so 2006.

As a 12 year Air Force vet
I applaud his service to the country.  However, I find it abhorrent that he is blatantly using military imagery in the service of a specific political party.

Wrong, wrong wrong

The GOP toolbox has only one tool in it....
... a hammer.

And all the world is a nail. n/t

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

"I don't want the government to tell me, tell someone I love, they're not worth it"
Because that is the solemn civic duty of the for-profit insurance companies, when they tell Grandpa that black-lung is not covered by the policy he's had for 50 years, and when they tell Aunt Sue that she will never, ever be able to get coverage because she was once treated for breast cancer and now poses "too much risk" to company profits.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

hmmm
or it's just like what the Republicans do when they put bans on marriage equality on the ballot.
"I'm sorry, your relationship isn't worth being recognized."

[ Parent ]
Why won't they start making sense?
Apparently they are all for pulling the plug on anyone under 65.  Our current life expectancy and infant mortality rates bear this theory out.  The best conspiracy theory is that they believe that a public option plan will pay for abortions.  Who needs that when we can just let babies die in twice the numbers than they do in France?  Death panel conversations are actually scary to me.  Is this what they fantasize that they would do if they are ever in charge again?  Crazy, crazy people.  Is there no insane bullshit GOP press release that they won't embrace wholeheartedly and get in an unhinged rage about?

My America includes LGBT families.

It would be interesting to ask these people about Medicare and Medicaid
We should be telling their base that both Medicare and Medicaid are government-run, single-payer systems, and that opposition to government-run, single-payer systems runs the risk of shutting these programs down for good.

The image of an elderly lady whacking a reform refuser with her cane while shrieking "Keep your greedy hands off of my entitlements!" warms me to the core.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

[ Parent ]
Why, oh why
are there so many wingnuts here?  Tempe's Pastor Anderson, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, guns in bars, guns brandished outside the President's address to the VFW, Birther Rep. Franks who wants to file a federal lawsuit on the birth dertificate issue, now this wack-job...

It's not the heat
...it's the stupidity. As someone who grew up in Phoenix in the 70s and 80s, I now look back on my dysfunctional journey leading me out of that hellhole as the best thing I have ever done for myself.

[ Parent ]
Arizona is now on my list of States
where I will spend no money.  Even on their exports.

History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government.-- Thomas Jefferson

Travel expert Arthur Frommer has said he won't travel to Arizona as long as people are able to brandish weapons in public.
Neither will I.  I like Arizona.  I would definitely go back.  Not now.  Not ever again until sanity is the law of the land.

[ Parent ]
Swellllll...
This is my district, but I somehow have not heard of this guy until now. Actually, maybe that's a good sign.

Me, either, boltgirl.
Where in AZ-8 are you?

[ Parent ]
Information in the hands of the stupid is dangerous
The Oregon example is a scare tactic a Republican (and almost Libertarian) friend of mine sent me that just a bit of research will show that is absolutely inappropriate.

1. Insurance companies already turn down conditions like this - something the reform bills want to REDUCE

2. Euthanasia is illegal in most of the country.  Natch.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think.

Popping back in again
I've switched to lurking mostly since I got married last month (One week away from ome and it's taken me two months to get caught up)

But I had to de-lurk for this...

Military imagery and statements aside, I have to ask what in the H-E-double hockey sticks were they thinking with that second ad? Was anyone else disturbed by the position of his legs as I was? What kin of message is that trying to broadcast?

watashi no yomeiri wa doko desu ka

That he has the balls to win?
Or something like that?

My America includes LGBT families.

[ Parent ]
The district is a moderate district
Not the right type of Republican to run against Congresswoman Giffords. Gay congressman Jim Kolbe did not like Randy Graf in 2006 because he was too far to the right even Kolbe.

A Republican who supports gay rights or choice in reproductive rights (or both) would be appropriate if they want to purge Giffords because they do not like her going too far to the left.

Jesse Kelly would not get my vote if I lived in Arizona.

Parts of it are moderate
I'm afraid my little corner of AZ-8 will take to this guy because this area is mainly military and retired military.

[ Parent ]
Since Jesse is a vet, and against any Guvmint takeover....
I'm sure he's turned down any Veteran's health care, educational assistance, home loans, pensions or any other benefits from this evil administration!

I hope someone asks him about how deep his anti-guvmint hatred affects his acceptance of all these benefits that retired soldiers get....

Now, now
Remember, it's only "socialism" if it means they have to share with new people.

[ Parent ]
Big Gun
Small dick.

When will hetero men EVER learn - we know their overcompensation games all too well.

And drives a Hummer
Or wants one...
