GA: white man beats down black woman in front of her child at Cracker Barrel

About 4 years ago, we were in the Denny's in Durango, CO when a white woman told her 5 year old to insult my 5 year old with a racial slur--in order to clear the bench in the waiting area for her own grandma!

When I objected, in pretty ripe language that was issued quietly in her ear rather than screamed to the entire lobby, she shouted back at me: 'How was I supposed to know she was YOURS!'

Because somehow it would have been okay had the child been alone or accompanied by an adult of color. And she was not the only person there who felt that way, judging by the glares I got for applying quiet but firm social pressure.

I bring this up to suggest that there is a nationwide class of (white) (bully) (racist) adults among whom it's considered a victory to frighten a young child--but this guy took it to another level.

He needs to be locked up in the GA pen until he learns how to get along with those who are different from him.

But wait, there's more!

Its really nasty and deeply disturbing. I expect it to get worse.

White resentment.  Bamboozle the lower classes into opposing and voting out the very politicians that are trying to pass programs that will help them.

Sadly it continues to work.

As far as this lunatic fringe is concerned, a feeling of racial superiority is all that they have. It seems as if most of them are no better off economically than the black and brown people that they hate and fear so much.

The people who have the time on their hands to get all worked up about people of other races are just as guilty of being welfare queens and using all these other government handouts that they accuse everyone else of taking advantage of.  The only difference is the white ones are being loudly ungrateful about the handouts they wait for every month.

The day will dawn, I suspect sooner rather than later, when anything even remotely civil, caring, understanding or empathetic will be considered deeply suspect and possibly even criminal in the Greatest Country in the World.

Beating a woman in front of her 7-year-old while shouting the n-word should get you excluded from all forms of healthcare.

I can't wait for the inevitable bs that will start as the story spreads and people start talking about her "tone" and nonsense.

It does make me angry that FOX news is airing non-stop inflmatory and hateful shows belittling everyone. I've taken to calling Fox news the 'all white' channel due to its uniracial content too.

He would have gone to the hospital with a lot of damage and I would have been more than happy to go to jail to stand up to these people who are an embarrassment, I tell you, an embarrassment to the rest of the world.

Call me militant if you want but I will tell you all right now, if you don't defend yourself and allow beatdowns like this things will only get worse.

They expect us limp wristed liberals to do just that.

They will NOT find that with me.

We don't carry baseball bats on the picket line for show folks, we use them.

And the daughter is beside herself because she was the one who wanted to go to Cracker Barrel.

Reading about West and those like him, I find it difficult not to think of brownshirts and Kristallnacht.

Or of JFK and MLK: and how much worse things could get in America--for everyone--if the level of violence is turned up only a couple more notches.

I try to tell myself "you always worry too much," but then I read the news...and it seems as if my worst fears are being confirmed.
