I cannot access Facebook from work, and I don't think I would want to for this. But I am curious as to the current results.

I'm sure that many who called for MLK's assassination

were not racist either. They simply disagreed with his political and/or religious views. His being black had nothing to do with their rage and animosity.

Once again

MLK was a leader of a movement for equality for the African-American community.  President Obama is the leader of ALL Americans.  Not quite the same thing.  I seem to remember Obama running for President as a leader of all Americans, not because he was another MLK.  (I sure hope that wasn't the reason you voted for him.)

I'll tell you what:  Let's only elect white men for President, then we won't have this problem of disagreeing with them only because of their race.

I'm not going to engage you further on this off topic argument.

I will simply point out that millions of Americans did not vote for Obama simply because they would not vote for any person of color.

That is a fact. You certainly have the right to argue against that. You can continue to pretend that race is not a factor in the rage and animosity that we see directed at our president.

However, reasonable people know that racism is a factor in what we have seen in recent months. Also, it is not a leap to assume that the person who made this poll is likely a racist.

Racism results in extremism. That's why MLK was killed. If someone kills Obama, there is a very strong chance that the person who does the deed would indeed be a racist.

Oh, quite the contrary

it depends on who your perceived constiuents are. Given Bill Clinton being heralded as "the first black president" and his overewhelming support in the black community, some of the opposition to Clinton did have a racist component. Hell, some of the opposition to FDR, Truman, and LBJ had a racist component. So even if we only elected white men for the Presidency (as you suggest) there could still be a racist component to the opposition against them (again, a component, not all of the opposition).

use the "Report" link at the *bottom* of the page to avoid adding the app

If you click "report as offensive", I believe you are reporting to the application developer (and adding the application).  If you click "Report" at the bottom of the page, your report goes to Facebook. Or so I understand.

Of course

You've never heard a woman called a "pussy" before because it would be redundant, as that term in the context we are discussing implies that all women are weak, and that a man being insulted with the term is as weak as a woman. It is meaningless to insult a woman as being like a woman, but male privilege makes insulting a man as being like a woman quite potent.

It is denigrating all of women as a class to insult a single man, the insult can not suggest anything else.
