Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Maine Attorney General "Appalled By Yes On 1 Ads"

by: Louise

Fri Oct 09, 2009 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

Not very good news for the SFMM campaign and a little bird tells me there will be many more bad news stories for Yes On 1/ SFMM today.

More on THAT one later!

"I'm appalled at those ads as well. I have no reason to believe that a vote on Question One allowing the law to stand would dictate any change in the curriculum in Maine schools."

Wonder what "Busy, Busy, Busy Boy" Bob Emrich will have say to about this... certainly the fact that the attorney general made a surprise appearance to speak in favor of LD 1020 at the public hearing in April is one that Emrich is quick to remind folks.

Even the fact that Gendron requested an opinion on the controversial law proved controversial.

The Rev. Bob Emrich, a member of Stand for Marriage Maine's executive committee, noted that Mills testified in support of the bill to legalize same-sex marriage at a public hearing in April.

And, he said in a written statement, Gendron is a member of the administration of Gov. John Baldacci, who has supported same-sex marriage.

"Commissioner Gendron asking Attorney General Mills for an unbiased opinion on Question 1 smacks of a political stunt," Emrich said. "Hopefully, Attorney General Mills will not allow her department to be misused in such a manner."

If the ads are bad, what about Yes on One's walking script?
Would it be useful to debunk the lies in both the Yes on 1 ads and the Yes on 1 walking script?  Their one-page script is an even uglier, more dishonest piece of work than the ads:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/2082...

Or would a point-by-point rebuttal of the opposition's script amount to little more than a distraction from more important work?

Hadn't seen this yet
Nor have I had a single visitor/ phone call etc from their campaign. Frankly, it's been rather nice!

Thanks for sharing this; there is definite value in knowing how they operate...

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

Amateur Hour
The primary principle is "no problem - no sale." Whatever idea you are selling, there are only two reasons that people don't buy; either they are unaware of their problem or they are not sufficiently disturbed to take action to correct it.

This requires more questions than answers.

When you ask people questions you are also giving them credit for their intelligence which morally requires them to reciprocate.

This "script" was written by someone who is untrained and unskilled. It makes me furious to think that these are the tactics that were successful in California. Fortunately, we seem to be doing a much better job in Maine.

Power and praise to those on the ground ...
... who are getting the job done, getting the GOTV done right, this time around in Maine for our side.

The fury re Prop 8 is understandable, but there will always be a tipping point that can be reached whereby the quality of the script is of little concern when the campaign is capable of mobilizing 100,000 Yes on 8 canvassers.  They tipped the scales and then some in that previous contest.

In Maine, it doesn't look like our opposition is anywhere close to repeating Prop 8's amazing organizational feats.

And so, yes, I'm probably wasting time even worrying about SFMM's amateur (albeit still offensive) script.

I'm gonna stop gabbing now and try to think of something productive to do.  For what it's worth, it's been a pleasure following and learning from your writing during the past months, David.  Cheers!

Perhaps too late to be productive, but still provocative ...
Betting the farm on school kids: "Yes" campaign managers Jeff Flint and Frank Schubert.

Everything to do with schools.

36 seconds of Jeff Flint, "Yes on 1" campaign manager, explaining how he and Frank Schubert won "Yes on 8" in California:

"Before we click to the next ad, in terms of one of the other principles we talked about - message discipline - and also - surrounding people with it - we launched that ad in conjunction with a statewide bus tour with the Wirthlins that we flew out to California to appear at the launch of that. And we did a lot of press just around that because that was, again, as Frank mentioned the point, where we had made the decision we were going to bet the farm on this argument over whether gay marriage would be taught in public schools. And so we made sure that every message medium in which we were communicating was on that point - not only paid media, but also the earned media."

Doesn't Frank Schubert
look like the "Daddy" type of predator that youngin's like Jeff Flint need to be protected from?
