The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Papa Ratzi welcomes Anglican bigots onto his island of hate

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Oct 21, 2009 at 20:27:14 PM EDT

The reality-based world is leaving the Catholic Church behind when it comes to accepting and affirming that LGBT human beings 1) are not "disordered" or immoral or, 2) do not need to remain celibate or "reclaim" their heterosexuality, or 3) cannot serve the flock as ordained priests/ministers.

So what does Prada Papa Ratzi do? He sees a boat approaching full of Anglican bigots who can't stand the sight of Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop, and regurgitate at the thought of a woman serving the flock at the altar -- and he welcomes them ashore his deserted island so that they can compare notes about the homos and live happily ever after. (NYT):

In an extraordinary bid to lure traditionalist Anglicans en masse, the Vatican said Tuesday that it would make it easier for Anglicans uncomfortable with their church's acceptance of female priests and openly gay bishops to join the Roman Catholic Church while retaining many of their traditions.

Anglicans would be able "to enter full communion with the Catholic Church while preserving elements of the distinctive Anglican spiritual and liturgical patrimony," Cardinal William J. Levada, the prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, said at a news conference here.

It was unclear why the Vatican made the announcement now. But it seemed a rare opportunity, audaciously executed, to capitalize on deep divisions within the Anglican Church to attract new members at a time when the Catholic Church has been trying to reinvigorate itself in Europe.
The issue has long been close to the heart of Pope Benedict XVI, who for years has worked to build ties to those Anglicans who, like conservative Catholics, spurn the idea of female and gay priests.

...In the United States, traditionalist leaders said they would be less inclined than their British counterparts to join the Catholic Church, because they have already broken away from the Episcopal Church and formed their own conservative Anglican structures (though some do allow women to be priests).

Hey, U.S. Episcopal homophobes, please feel free to go join the Pope on his deserted island of hate. No one will bother trying to find you to bring you all any supplies.

A picture is worth a thousand words
and the two above are priceless. Thanks for the great belly laugh, Pam!!

Close the GayTM. Only give to candidates who have actually done something other than make promises - most are just pandering for our cash.

The hypocrisy - it burns!
So, by my count (as a former Catholic) Mr. Ratzinger is violating three key tenets of the Roman Catholic Church with this action:

1. The need for celibate priests. Although celibacy was not required of early church priests, IIRC, about the 11th century it became required. The official reason? Because priests were so busy with their flocks and their devotion to God that they should not deal with the distraction of a wife. Unless they're gay-hating Anglicans, of course. (oh, and the church wanted to retain its property and not have it fall into the hands of the children of priests).

2. The supremacy of the Bishop of Rome, called the "Pope" by Catholics, over the church. Clearly the Anglicans are a bit dubious of this distinction.

3. The requirement that all religious writings used for worship have the imprimatur of the Roman Catholic Church. The Anglican Book of Common Prayer most certainly does not qualify. So blasphemy is also okay, if you're a gay-hating Anglican.

Good job maintaining the traditions of the Church there, Joe.

Nope not true at all
The RCC has already allowed Orthodox and Anglican married priests to convert and remain married for a long time, just sounds like it will be easier now.  Those Anglicans will still have to accept the supremacy of the pope in order to come into communion.  The RCC has already gobbled up a number of other Churches and brought them in communion with the Catholic Church while allowing them their own traditions and liturgies.  I share your disdain, but your comment is rather inaccurate.

Check the fine print!
Anglicans will be allowed to keep "certain elements" of their faith?  That should be fun.

"In order to maintain an untenable position, you have to be actively ignorant."  The Colbert Report

A few years ago I thought Catholics and Conservative Lutherans were making a deal too
But I never heard of them sealing the deal. maybe the just agreed to be friends with benefits.
i would imagine this is more dangerous to keeping Catholic priests and nuns in line. Women questioning a preaching role, and priests and nuns maybe being married and not subject to a vow of poverty....hard stuff for ratzi to keep selling.

Let the rats swarm aboard the sinking ship!
While the saner passengers on the titanic ocean liner, "One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church," are either leaving in droves or at least camping in the cafeteria lifeboats, the captain of the ship (appropriately named "Rat") has thrown a line over to the Anglican Episcopal steamer, where the rats have been feeling somewhat uncomfortable, with all the gay and female cats on board.

The rats on the steamer see the sinking liner as their best hope, so they swarm aboard, in the confidence that they can keep some of their rituals alive, though they would have been somewhat better off holding out for their own stateroom (an Anglican rite) than getting a special status in steerage.

What Joe Ratzinger is doing here by helping to draw the poisonous rats from the Anglican/Episcopal Church steamer, which will allow that boat the opportunity to right its course and avoid the icebergs of bigotry and shoals of immoral hate that are already sinking the Catholic titanic.

I think he'd draw off more of the rats from the Anglican/Episcopal communion by tossing in that "rite" stateroom - they won't realize it's only a Third Class ticket.

Ouch, my grammar is bad
I wrote:

I meant:

What I did was forget what I wrote in the first clause by the time I got to the end of the "sentence," which ended up not even being a sentence.  Sorry!

From an Anglican POV:
Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Ya, they're not nice.
All this knocking of my Church I find rather insulting.  And making fun of our traditions is something you wouldn't do to any black church, even though they seem to be very involved in the anti-gay movement.

A little history lessons for you youngsters.  Popes Pius, John, Paul and John Paul I were all very progressive.  Then something strange happened 28 days into John Paul I's pope hood- he mysteriously died.  Then we get John Paul II who's ideologies were 180 degrees different from his predecessors.  Decades later, his puppet master takes over and starts replacing Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and even Nuns with clergy that think like him.  Sound familiar?  No, we're past Hitler; think Stalin.

We Roman Catholics are painfully aware of this and are tying to improve things.  But because we are the ONLY Church in the world with a single leader, we get attacked viciously.  You all thought the Mormons wanted your blood;  you'd better be keepin' an eye on the Pentecostals!

ah, the famous conspiracy theories
about John Paul I. I heard a bunch of those in the Catholic Jr. High school that I went to from a pretty liberal set of priests and nuns.

I would prefer it if people did specify that this is the Church hierarchy and not necessarily the laity. There are a lot of Catholics that I love, in part, because of their faith. And I do have to say that the Catholics certainly made sure I was educated.

I do feel the same way about the black church, by the way.

the Catholics stuck with this Pope
I truly feel sorry for, and my wife is one of them. And she's a Maronite Catholic, which is by far more conservative than American Roman Catholic churches are. The rituals she enjoys as part of her faith she feels that she cannot participate in because of the homophobia blasted out of the Vatican, as well as its hypocrisy and coverup of its raping-priest scandals.

No, for me it's not the faith, it's the waste of time and energy this Pope has spent vilifying LGBTs, (not to mention promoting irresponsible AIDS education in the Third World) that frustrates Kate to no end.

And making fun of our traditions is something you wouldn't do to any black church, even though they seem to be very involved in the anti-gay movement.

Are you kidding? I'm always making fun of the hypocrisy of the not-very-closeted choir directors, deacons and certainly down-low pastors sitting right up there sanctifying. It's hilariously sad. Most of the flock operates on a DADT model, they know who's gay, they just don't want to acknowledge it, and the closeted gays, sadly play along with this charade.

Religious Rites are not Civil Rights
Hope the new Roman/Anglicans can take pedophilia.

History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government.-- Thomas Jefferson

My favorite quote from the Times of London:
"Ratzinger was only briefly a member of the Hitler Youth and not an enthusiastic one," concluded John Allen, his biographer.

sidebar: Uganda
I'm not sure where else to post this. Apparently Uganda is on the verge of an anti-LGBT pogrom -- and US evangelicals seem to have put them up to it. This from Integrity, the LGBT group in the US Episcopal church.
