Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

New R-71 poll encouraging, but GOTV still vital

by: Lurleen

Mon Oct 26, 2009 at 22:17:10 PM EDT

Update: Chef Thunder over at SLOG made this disquieting observation
But remember this is the first all mail-in ballot it is hard to know who likely voters really are.
Please everyone continue to talk to everyone about the importance of voting Approve on R-17 and getting that ballot in the mail.  Because we just really don't know where we stand, so the more locked-in votes the merrier.
Washington Families Standing Together has released a new poll.  Although the result is encouraging, the message is crystal clear: everybody must vote!

Polling likely voters, the results were

Approve: 53%
Reject: 36%
Undecided: 11%
In September, the margin was 51-44 percent with only 5% Undecided.  This shift suggests to the pollster that "the Approve side has solidified its base in recent weeks while the Reject side is losing supporters."
Lurleen :: New R-71 poll encouraging, but GOTV still vital
"This is both good-and cautionary-news," said Approve 71 campaign chair Anne Levinson. "These results show that when voters understand what the domestic partnership law is-and the many families who will be harmed if it is repealed-they will vote to approve it.

"Yet, we also know that in an off-year election, older, more conservative voters turn out in greater numbers. While there is broad statewide support for treating all families equally, those who vote will determine the outcome of this election," Levinson continued. "This poll makes a very clear point: those who want to ensure that legal protections aren't taken away from gay and lesbian families absolutely have to vote."

So really the message hasn't changed.  Approve 71 campaign manager Josh Friedes reiterates what we've all come to understand only too well
[I]f supportive voters cast their ballots, we will win. ...Basic legal protections for thousands of committed couples hinge on this simple act. Our message is 'Vote now!'

Reminder: Put a stamp on the return envelope before you mail it!  If you're in Pierce Co., make that two stamps.

Anyone going to Trick or Vote?
I still can't figure out what I'll go as!

I am!
But same as you, I have no idea what to go as.  Since I normally dress in my raggety old clothes, maybe I'll go as a braided rug. :)

Maggie Gallagher?
Nah, too scary.

Maybe I'll build on my success from canvassing this weekend by dressing as an "obviously thrift-store shopping capitol* hillbilly"?

*Well, First Hillbilly.

An old drag queen trick
Bird seed....it's cheap and has the weight so fake apendage has weight and moves naturaly.
A beautiful drag queen had fake breasts made of nylons filled with bird seed and knotted on the end which under a dress makes fake nipple bulges and hooked to a harness loose enough to move, gave the best artifical boobs I ever saw.

This looks promising
and I think it's probably more likely than not that this will be approved...but you're right, nobody should take anything for granted.

Best of luck!

Too bad Obama and His AG cannot get behing ME and WA

restrained on the outside, dancing on the inside
Even if all undecided switched to reject they still lose.
In all liklihood undecided won't vote much in an off year.
It's momentum and intensity that GOTV, and I'm hoping it's at our back.

but I spit for luck anyways...it wouldn't hurt.

Let's put it this way...
It's all about the county-level turnout.

In the most populous counties of Western Washington, turnout is at about 235k ballots so far and roughly 11% return.

In Eastern Washington, it's 110k ballots and about a 16% rate of return.

So we need to jack up the GOTV here, for sure.

What's the vote-count method in Washington?
If it's an electronic system, that means a reliable swing of 5 to 12 points in the more conservative direction compared to pre- or post-election (exit) polls.

Likely my final post on this matter…
At the end of the ad, it says, “REJECT Marriage = One Man, One Woman”.  So, they want me to reject marriage as equaling one man and one woman? Isn’t that the opposite of their position? I know that it’s just poor graphic design from a bad referendum — I’d expect no less.   Seriously, have you realized that our opponents have turned this into a referendum on marriage? In their eyes, the future of civilization is at stake. This is seriously how these people are wired. They will vote. Nothing will stop them from voting to reject this. Some people just can’t be changed.  If this is rejected, expect nothing for gay and lesbians in Washington for a generation or more. Because if SB5688 is rejected, they will point this out any time anything pro-equality comes up. We can turn this around. If the referendum is approved, we can say the opposite. We can say that a majority of the people of the state of Washington support equality. We can rub it in their faces.

I will not settle for anything less than the same rights as everyone else.

And the comment system ate my formatting…
continuing:

The solution is to have anyone who supports equality vote to approve the referendum. I bet that if every registered voter from King County alone did vote for this, it would pass. Again, we can not be complacent! It has been said before that we need to get out the vote. This can't be said enough. Every single opponent of our rights will vote.

In every survey about this subject, we may come out on top. But while many of us that support this will vote, every one who is against this will vote to reject it. We may very well wake up Wednesday to news that it was rejected. We can't let this happen.

Make your friends vote right now. In Washington, we are so fortunate that we don't have to drive to a polling place to vote. It couldn't be more convenient. If they need a stamp, give them one!

I will not settle for anything less than the same rights as everyone else.
