The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

GOP health care reform plan: insurance companies can still deny coverage

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Nov 02, 2009 at 20:52:21 PM EST

Remember when Alan Grayson was chastised for opining about what health care reform would look like in a GOP plan?

1. Don't get sick.
2. If you do get sick...
3. Die quickly.

Well he wasn't wrong. Look at what's cooking in the GOP pot for America.

Republicans are preparing to unveil their own health bill in the next few days. Minority Leader John Boehner (R., Ohio) said Monday that the plan wouldn't seek to prevent health-insurance companies from denying sick people insurance -- a key plank of the Democrats' legislation.

Instead, the bill would allow insurance firms to sell policies across state lines, permit small businesses to pool their risks to bring down costs, change medical-malpractice laws and give state governments more flexibility to pursue rule changes.

I'm sorry, if the Republicans want to bash the Dem plan on legitimate policy grounds, first you have to bring a plan to the table based on reality. The primary problem with our broken system is 1) lack of access to insurance, 2) under coverage by insurance, 3) denial of coverage for specious reasons (being pregnant, or a victim of domestic abuse). Unless the GOP has a safety net for these circumstances, it needs to STFU. I can't wait to see the full revelation of this garbage.

They're hypocrites...
It's as simple as that. They whine when someone calls them out on their BS, then they keep doing the same BS.

Want to save marriage equality in Maine? Ask me how! ;-)

Boehner Healthcare plan
A tanning bed in every home, if you can't be healthy, you can look healthy.

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

What a perfect thread to tell this story,
When the Economy took a dump, of course I did lose my job back in October 2008.  It took me until July to get another job.  My Husband on the other hand was offered either to be laid-off or take a $4.00 an hour pay cut.  Then his hours got cut back from 40 a week to 32 hours a week.  Then the cost for his own, single health care benefits went from $75.00 every two weeks to $105.00 every two weeks.  Co-pay went from $10.00 per office visit to $20.00, prescriptions co-pays tripled depending on what was prescribed.

Well, now they wanted to raise the cost again.  He had to tell them no thanks as we can't afford it.  And that is just for him, not including me and my daughters.  In order to cover me, him and my daughters, he would have to work 2 1/4 days a week just to pay for health coverage.

Lets just hope we don't get sick.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

So sorry to hear about your situation. It is unreal anyone would deny health coverage to their own people.

What is really interesting is that the religious right isn't pushing hard for this issue. I've heard a lot of them talk about how God said to feed and help the needy and how they should be supporting universal healthcare. But they are either being hushed big time by the right wingers or afraid they will lose the clout they have with the right wingers if they speak up about their "moral beliefs."

Same as it ever was... pick-n-choose as long as it benefits the right people. Like the Republicans say, "If I ain't broke, don't fix it."

It is not just us
There are millions of people facing the same hard decisions.  People are losing their homes, life savings due to high medical bills.

An amazing thing happened in 2008, people voted for change.  President Obama even said that Health Care in America should be a right.  Look at the mandate he received from the election.  Look here

Barack Obama67,066,91552.7% John McCain58,421,37745.9%   Electoral Vote Count  Obama 365 McCain 173

That is better then Bush in both 2000 and 2004 and Bush claimed he had a mandate in 2004.   What complete Bull Shit that the debate on Health Care has come down to what it is today.

We are just making a decision that we can go the next few years and stay healthy.  We have said enough to lining the pockets of insurance companies.  As well we have also decided that next time we cast a vote, we are not going to vote for either a Democratic or Republican Candidate unless they truly deserve our vote.

What I would love to see is a write in candidate, 'None of the above' win and fire all these professional politicians.  Who knows, in 2012 I might run for the house of representatives with the promise I can't be bought.  I will put in writing where I stand on the issues and accept to be fired if I waiver on them.  But I doubt I could afford to even get on the ballot.

But back to the present.  Food, Clothes and a Roof are needed before I can even think of having health coverage.  Finances tell me I have to live by the Republican Plan,  Don't get Sick, and if you do, Die quickly

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

They are so out of touch...
It's freakin' scary.

I am going to scream if I hear one more right winger say we need to sell insurance across state lines.
That won't lower the costs but it will lower what insurance companies have to cover.

Insurance across state lines
If health insurance could be sold across state lines, then the insurance companies would simply locate their corporate headquarters in the state(s) with the most favorable regulations for insurance companies (and least favorable for consumers).  Aren't the big banks (mostly) all headquartered in one state?

Policies that now are illegal in many states because they are dangerously lacking in basic coverage (i.e. no guarantees of coverage for mammograms, mental health, etc.) would be offered more cheaply, and consumers wouldn't be the wiser.  They would just shop by price, and the quality policies wouldn't be able to compete on that uneven field.

The Republicans seem to want to do nothing but toady for the insurance companies -- and that includes so-called tort "reform," which really does nothing but strip consumers of their rights.

Give 'em hell, Pam
You're exactly right!

how do they sleep
I'm so glad I live in Canada these days. Watching these debates rage on south of us, really makes me grateful for what I have here.

Ditto that for me in the UK
I look at the bitching that goes on here about the NHS and I always immediately think of the USA and feel both great relief and great frustration at how spoiled Britons are compared to Americans.

I can't figure out Joe Lieberman
saying he's going to side with the Republican filibuster if a public option remains in the final bill.  WTF?  Insight anyone?

Saying "eff you" to 46 million un/under insured is just damned immoral.  Feels like there are internecine dramas and deals ad infinitum going on behind all the fighting and negotiating, and Pat Q. Public will never know the full scope.  All I can do is hope Lieberman is getting some kind of ultimatum from the Dems that will compel him to act in the best interests of the citizenry, instead of contributing to unnecessary illness and death.

Lieberman sold his soul
a long time ago. What's surprising is that no one is calling him out on his clear BS.

He has actually said that we can't do health care right now because we have wars to fight...and he's advocated expanding those wars.

Lieberman is a hardcore neo-con and war is really the only thing that concerns him at this point.

The REAL problem here is...
THE VOTERS!!!!

What bothers me the most are tragically misinformed fools that are being screwed by the health insurance industry but are fighting tooth and nail to defend them.

The people shouting loudest about socialism are not the GOP's richest members but many of its poorest. They are cutting their own throat for reasons that have nothing to do with health care.

Its crazy the sort of lies they will believe while being determined to ignore facts.

Hope you all gave to Alan Grayson...Congressmanwithguts.com

yesterday, I did. ... and we need more like him. Loudly denouncing both the Republican and 'Demoncrats' who are bought an paid for by BIG HEALTH.

Great Article!
Thanks Pam!  Another great look into an issue that really matters!  I've been doing a lot of reading on health care and the public option and this is a site that I love.  Here is one more that I think is exceptional!  http://cli.gs/z3AtaY/
