From CNN: A Louisiana justice of the peace who drew criticism for refusing to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple has resigned, the secretary of state's office said Tuesday. That, of course, was Keith Bardwell. According to The Advocate (no, not that one; I mean the Baton Rouge daily newspaper): Bardwell didn’t immediately return a call for comment Tuesday about his resignation, which followed calls for his ouster from several public officials, including Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu.
