...eah, that's an easy one!

Rep. Charlie Gonzalez from my hometown of San Antonio (TX-20) e-mailed a bit ago to talk about why he's for it, and it was basically one of those amazing letters that says "you may not believe it now, but this is for the better of America", and in response to a rather angry guy coming in during that Teabagger "house-call" event.

In other words, he is for less regulation on the poor beleaguered insurance companies.

The current vote tally as I see it is 240 for passage (I actually follow such stuff - I'm a really fun date) with 218 needed.

Maine's Mike Michaud- of the OTHER Maine

has announced he WILL vote for HR-3962

After hundreds of meetings, hours of careful consideration, and lots of soul searching, I have decided to lend my support to the historic opportunity that confronts us today. Although I continue to have serious concerns with pieces of the health care reform package, I have decided that being at the table will more effectively advance the interests of the people of Maine than by standing on the sidelines. I will support the bill before the House today because this process must move forward.

No word about how he will vote re: Stupak amendment...

And when you do, tell him to vote AGAINST the Anti-Choice Stupak Amendment, which is bad for Maine women and families.

because bigotry remains entrenched, and when it comes to OUR rights, it gets to vote.

A century ago, black rights were voted out of existence by state legslatures.

A century and a half ago, there were serious attempts to eliminate Catholic rights

Women's rights remain a half-finished thing at best.

But right now, the Monster Mag-a-lon gloats over devouring our rights. Meanwhile, dovetailing this, the President and Congress are fearful of the 2010 elections, too fearful to help us.

While I am disappointed with my fellow Mainers for voting Yes on 1 and am appalled at our faux-independent Republican senators, I am very happy that Chelli Pingree represents the part of my adopted state where I live. Thanks for posting this vid.
