I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when she strode onto the screen with that.

I actually considered viewing her teabagger rally on Thursday (I was at the Capitol for the Senate ENDA hearing; actually, I was in DC for something else but the timing was right), but when I got off the DC Metro and was greeted with these:

I decided I'd just head on back to my hotel after the hearing.

I have always wondered at the underlying logic of the Hyde amendment, which seems to be that taxpayers should not have to pay for what they find morally objectionable. I have moral objections to war, and yet my federal tax dollars are used for that purpose. Hmm...

Saw a bunch of them outside a small rural hospital in central Maine 12 years ago... need I add that there were alot of religious propaganda being handed out, too?

Funny- the hospital is between Mike Heath and Bob Emrich's towns- about 20 miles in either direction...

Good Old Wheaton, IL

I saw them in mid-afternoon at the intersection of two fairly busy streets where they have a pretty huge strip mall.  They posted a sign warning that they would have them up, but still.  Most of the signs were being carried by teenagers.  Why weren't they in school?!?!?  It's not about protecting kids, it's a power trip to bully people into obeying your wishes.  What if I had a 7 year old (or so) who had a dental appointment in that mall?  It was just disgusting on so many levels.  Those people are really sick and twisted, but we knew that already...

I swear to god

I'm going to start trolling them one of these days caring giant blowup signs of triple bypass surgery, draining of abcesses, and appendicitis.

Medicine is gross and ew, it's gross is never a good reason to stop any medical procedure or otherwise none would ever be performed, there's a reason why such procedures usually are only seen in horror movies. The inside of the human body and what comes out of it is inherently distressing.

It doesn't help that they're lying fucks. Anything before third trimester doesn't look like all that much, so these are obviously third trimester abortion pictures, probably D&X or D&E or hell given how honest they are simple to honest god miscarriages born and delivered dead. The "mutilation" is what a deformed baby looks like when it has died in the womb. It's hideous and is why the abortion was so necessary, to save the mother's life when what she tried to carry to term turned out so broken and destroyed.

But they don't care about all that. It's the same damn story as lgbt rights. They're 6 year old children and it's "eww gross".

Having worked in a lab

and thousands of times seen various surgical specimens come in, I'll agree 100% with the gross factor- nothing like bits and pieces of humanity in clear containers, swimming in formaldehyde to really get your attention!

But between that and some of the sights I've seen in emergency rooms- feh.

These protesters have never seen a 9 year old car crash victim's chest cracked open with heart massage going on, while  others are putting in IVs, drawing blood samples off a line, etc.

I did- the child later died of traumatic brain injury that occurred during the accident. I retired from the field permanently within a month.

With a pack of bozos like this running our government, is it any wonder the US is a laughingstock in the rest of the world?  Bachmann actually believes that the souvenir vendor who made her lei also wrote the constitution, huh?  Watching this crew try to deal with policy reminds me of the Three Stooges trying to figure out how to eat an artichoke.  Whatever hope there might have been for this country is fading fast.
