Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

While Carrie Prejean self-destructs, right-wing plays pitiful defense

by: Alvin McEwen

Fri Nov 13, 2009 at 07:40:12 AM EST

crossposted on Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters

Despite how the lgbt community feels about Carrie Prejean, we can all agree that her controversy is blowing up into something better than a plotline on "Desperate Housewives."

In addition to the above interview with her ex-boyfriend (via TMZ) in which he accuses her handlers of attempting to convince him to lie regarding that "sex tape" and her disastrous, just unbelievably bad interview with Larry King comes the news that she pulled out of various appearances, including, according to Jillian Bandes of the conservative Town Hall, an appearance at an invitation-only event at the National Republican Club of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and numerous other radio segments.

Alvin McEwen :: While Carrie Prejean self-destructs, right-wing plays pitiful defense
In her column, Bandes doesn't even try to defend Prejean and the title of the piece, Carrie Prejean's Disappearing Book Tour, doesn't even help matters.

It's too soon to say whether or not folks on the right have totally abandoned Prejean, but I'm starting to feel a little sorry for her.

This thing is not going away and with her ex-boyfriend getting involved, the crapstorm will be getting thicker for her.

Please bear in mind that I said I feel a little for her. She really has no one to blame for this but herself.

Can you say weak on content?

Oh, that is just too damned funny
I'm sure it will be "corrected" so to describe:

It is the standard NoM web frame, with a banner that reads, "NOM Launches "No Offense" Religious Liberty Ad Campaign!" The content frame is blank.

In other words, the only way they could not be offensive is to say nothing. In other words, any campaign they do actually run is, by their own admission, offensive.

Well, I suppose even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

[ Parent ]
I'll be sad if she goes away
I love watching all her crazy manifest.

Here are some doozies from her recent interview with Christianity Today.

It's so funny, in my book I talk about when I ended up at the hospital with the children instead of the other [event after pageant officials] gave me the wrong address, so I was able to visit for over two hours with kids in the cancer ward, just visit them

In fact, Perez Hilton wasn't even correct when asking the question. He said, "Vermont recently legalized same-sex marriage. Do you think other states should follow suit? Why or why not?" Actually, the people in Vermont didn't even vote. It was the legislature that voted. It's funny, looking back now; obviously I'm a lot more educated [now].

No, I think they embraced what I stood for. People forget that I'm 22 years old. Not many people would have done what I did. Everything was on the line; I'd worked so hard for this goal, and I wasn't willing to lie, to be politically correct to win the pageant. Regardless of who you are, people are drawn toward that. People are drawn toward a 22-year-old speaking out for what she believes in and being brutally attacked because of it. I don't think any of these groups are exploiting me. I think they're embracing the younger generation doing something.

I love to hate her almost as much as I love to hate "Glee"!

I'm sure we'll find out later that
Miss Prejean was at the abortion clinic the day they covered Representational Democracy in her civics class.
Actually, the people in Vermont didn't even vote. It was the legislature that voted. It's funny, looking back now; obviously I'm a lot more educated [now].

[ Parent ]
That's my dream
That the next skeleton to be unearthed is that she had an abortion!

[ Parent ]
I wouldn't be surprised..
...if she's given Star Parker a run for her money as to the number of times she's visited a clinic.

[ Parent ]
WTF? How can you hate GLEE!?
It was such a love fest of progressive goodness on Tuesday. A storyline that focused on the challenges the disabled deal with every single day of their lives? Multi-racial and ethnic cast? A blue-collar single father who struggles--AND SUCCEEDS--to love and support his effeminate gay son.

An effeminate gay teenager who, in defiance of standard depictions is not crippled and miserable with self-hate and angst, but rather, as happy as any teenager can be and proud of himself and comfortable in his own skin. (And yet they also do not downplay the constant harassment he endures.)

I get that musicals aren't everyone's bag. And it's campy style isn't for everyone. But GLEE manages to slyly send messages that are enormously helpful and progressive, and in my opinion, in a way that is very entertaining.

[ Parent ]
I love musicals
Glee is not good.  That's all.  I'm glad you enjoy it, though.

[ Parent ]
Glee...
... is technically not a musical.  It's a comedy/drama with some music thrown in there.  Musicals are primarily a heap of music thrown on a tiny bit of plot - Glee's the other way around.

Just sayin'.

"Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." - Dorothy Parker

[ Parent ]
Well, really...
Glee isn't a musical because in a musical the music is used to advance the plot.

[ Parent ]
Glee started out
with the perfect setup for some clever deconstruction of a whole pile of obnoxious stereotypes -- but it decided to go for bullshit hipster "ironic" "humor" instead of real satire.  So the "everyone but the straight white love-triangle gets to sing backup, and anyone who tells you otherwise is plotting against you" faux-message never gets contradicted by the show.  Instead, everyone who's either not white, not straight, or happens to be in a wheelchair gets to show their value as characters by deferring to (and giving the spotlight to) people who don't even sing as well as they do.

[ Parent ]
Clearly...
... you missed this week's episode.

"Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." - Dorothy Parker

[ Parent ]
I saw it,
and was disappointed enough to give up on my plans to at least finish the first season.  By the end of the ep it's back to business as usual -- the extras have been given their moment, the supporting actors have been given their scene and now it's back to the Very Important Feelings of the leads.  We might be treated to Magical Straight-white-male Teacher's wonderful ability to speak for everyone else again soon, though.

[ Parent ]
One of the problems with it...
Is that it seems to think it can just throw everything at the wall with no regard for sense or plot and people will eat it up.  And I suppose they do.

I realize I'm in the minority, but I don't get the allure of the show.  At all.  It makes no sense and all the characters are imbeciles with too too twee affectations.

[ Parent ]
Her "reasoning" says that Vermont never legalized any kind of marriage
Straight marriage was legalized by a vote of the state legislature and not by a vote of the people, after all.

Crimeny. She makes stupid people embarassed to be lumped in with her.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

[ Parent ]
Hilarious. I didn't take it to the next step
Thank you for doing so. LOL. Yes, by her "standard" the vast majority of laws in this land are invalid.

[ Parent ]
Let's not forget
she's a complete moron.

[ Parent ]
Deconstructing Pageant Barbie
It's so funny, in my book

Oh, but Carrie, you have no idea how funny that really is and I doubt you ever will.

Actually, the people in Vermont didn't even vote. It was the legislature that voted.

He didn't ask you if Vermont voted on it, you ninny.  He was asking you if other states should follow suit and go with marriage equality - not whether they should vote on it!

It's funny, looking back now; obviously I'm a lot more educated [now].

You might be a lot more educated now, but you're still the kind of stupid that makes me bolt upright in bed with night terrors of.

People forget that I'm 22 years old.

So you're trying to say is - 'oh, I was young, stupid and impetuous!  so what if I insulted an entire community of people and talked down to them like they were dogs and then latched myself onto the most repugnant group of political whores history has ever witnessed so I can further my own selfish, self-serving ends!  no biggie! lol!'.  Nope, sorry, it's not okay.  If you're young and you're stupid and you KNOW it, then seriously - do us all a favor: shut up, listen/read and LEARN.  Forget the sex tape - you can't be a rolemodel to young women in today's society if you're going to fall back on this BS right-winger 'oh, I'm just a silly girl, what do I know?' garbage.  Women have to fight harder than ever, these days, just to get the basic respect and equal treatment they deserve - we don't need some helium-headed Barbie doll clomping all over the womens' movement's freshly raked garden in their stupid Miss America Pageant stripper clodhoppers.

In short: betch, please.

Not many people would have done what I did.

You sound proud of that.  Don't.

Everything was on the line; I'd worked so hard for this goal, and I wasn't willing to lie, to be politically correct to win the pageant.

So instead you're trying to show the young girls of America that it's okay to be ignorant and divisive and bigoted.  Uhh, what's this pageant for, again?

If you actually go and check out the Miss America Pageant website, you see many variations of the word 'empower' being thrown around - empowerment, empowering, etc. - what I can't help but wonder is, how is it that Ms. Prejean can feel okay, knowing that she's 'empowering' herself by belittling and looking down her nose at an entire, fairly sizeable segment of the country she's hoping to become a representative of?

People are drawn toward a 22-year-old speaking out for what she believes in and being brutally attacked because of it.

No, they're drawn to the circus of you brandishing your ignorance like your very own invisible Tiara of Fail.  You're being 'brutally' attacked because, as you yourself pointed out, Ms. Prejean, you are young and you are ignorant.  One of those will take care of itself on its own, but the other one won't, and whinging about being attacked for being a dumbass isn't helping to move you along as far as rectifying that second one goes.

I don't think any of these groups are exploiting me. I think they're embracing the younger generation doing something.

You were saying you're a lot more educated now.  Trust me: you've still got scads more to learn.

"Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." - Dorothy Parker

[ Parent ]
Tiara of Fail
I <3 you

[ Parent ]
Why, thank you! :D
XD

"Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." - Dorothy Parker

[ Parent ]
Agreed
"Tiara of Fail" is hilarious.

[ Parent ]
I especially love
that part about her only being 22. So I guess only people her age and younger are allowed to criticize her. Since my 21 birthday is the week after next, I'll gladly take on the responsibility of calling her stupid, ignorant, and hateful. I do believe I've already proven myself not to be those things.

I am the lizard queen!

[ Parent ]
...really?
People forget that I'm 22 years old.

No. Just... no.

Seriously, what about us 22 year olds who don't have our heads wedged firmly up our arses?

[ Parent ]
Like a typical politician
who runs for office knowing he has a skeleton in his closet.  Sooner or later the crap will hit the fan. All I can say is Prejean is one strange cookie.

The Fail follows Prejean like the Holy Spirit
it is always present.

She's a perfect foil for Ann Coulter

History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government.-- Thomas Jefferson

What I love
I love the fact that the animation in the TMZ clip of the interview is run backwards! The supply reel is on the left, and the takeup reel is on the right!

Listen to "TransTalk" every Monday from 4-5pm ET on http://www.falconradio.org beginning January 11th!

I feel a little sorry for her, too.
But only a very little.  On one level, yes, she is the architect of her own sepulcher.  On another level, though, her storyline says a lot more about American society than it does about her.  Our mania for manufactured "celebrities" has fueled more than one skyrocket flaming out overnight.  The formula doesn't seem to vary: You take a seriously limited human being, pump him/her full of dreams about instant, lifelong celebrity--instant fame and fortune--you run them through the media mill, and then you leave them by the roadside to languish in bitter obscurity till they die.  Richard Hatch, the Balloon Boy family, any number of American Idol hopefuls...the list keeps getting longer, and won't stop growing anytime soon.

Prejean's anti-gay vitriol leaves me with very little sympathy for her, personally.  But the scenario she's caught up in leaves me very sad for all of us--for what we have let the corporate-run media turn us into.

-Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

Points well taken...
But when I hear people come to her defense (not what you said, more along the lines of the meme that she is being persecuted for her "traditional" beliefs) I just keep thinking that it is SHE that keeps putting herself out there, ultimately.  She's the one accepting engagements to speak (well, at least she WAS), she's the one who churned out a book in three months or whatever, she's the one who keeps making shit up when her past comes back to bite her.

Carrie could just as easily STFU, but then the cameras would stop.

[ Parent ]
How sad is it that some random, regular guy she hooked up with for a single weekend...
...is approximately a hundred times more intelligent, moral and rational than Carrie herself?

I've said from the beginning that it was nuts for her to pretend to be religious.  Just like this guy says, she could have made as much or more money just honestly being her skanky self.  She's obviously done all this because she can't help herself.  The woman is undeniably SERIOUSLY mentally ill.

We couldn't have set a better booby trap (you should pardon the expression) for the anti-gay crazies if we'd made it ourselves.

What's surprising about all of this...
is how not shocking this has turned out. I mean, she is just one in a long line of overly pious conservatives who's persona cannot hold up under close inspection.

The question is why is ANYONE ever persuaded by this BS in the first place? these people are always proven to be frauds and hypocrites. The only answer I can come up with is that their followers/supporters are also hypocrites and like knowing that they are not alone.

I put Carrie Prejean and Donnie McLurkin and Ted Haggard
all in the same boat as far as this goes. I agree with you 100%.

[ Parent ]
People will believe/exuse anything...
if it validates their homophobia.

[ Parent ]
Would that boat be the Titanic, or the Lusitania, Kevin?

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

[ Parent ]
Either one is fine, Snooky
Well, the Titanic would probably be better, since all of these people were revealed to have vulnerablility issues as opposed to being a casuality of war.

[ Parent ]
Because
their campaign continues to be successful using these talking points
http://www.nationformarriage.o...

[ Parent ]
What makes me sad
Is that as much as we like laughing at Miss Prejean, somehow her and her klan prevailed in Maine. How can that be?

why?
because progressives make rules for themselves to be "respectable" and "civil", and it gets us nowhere.  the time to start fighting dirty has long since passed, and yet we still stand around wringing our hands and bleating our defenses in the face of liars and hypocrites.  when someone DOES actually throw back a tomato, a la alan grayson, we cannibalize him when we should be emulating him.

a woman who hooks up with random dudes on myspace 20 minutes before getting flat on her back with her heels pointed to jesus, stuffs her fakies into an evening gown and struts across a stage to trumpet about her piety and how sick teh gayz are, is still managing to make her case and get herself air time.  pious slut: 1, gays: 0.

The gays stole my lunch money

[ Parent ]
mmmm...
I don't really agree that playing nasty is the tactic that would've won us Maine.

I'm starting to come to the realization that these losses will be inevitable and we have to just accept that. The women's sufferage movement took 100 years to come to fruition. The Liberty Party candidate included the promise of delivering women the right to vote in 1848. 72 years before it became reality.

It took America 100 years to wrap it's mind around the concept that women weren't too feeble minded to vote. I think we're asking America to embrace a similarly foreign concept. And it will happen, but some of us older folk may not live to see Federal Marriage Equality in our lifetime.

We are, at my count, about 15 years into the fight.

[ Parent ]
I would hope that the advancement of civilization...
would shave a few years off of that.

[ Parent ]
Clearly I agree
and women had the disadvantage of not actually being able to vote for themselves, unlike us.

And hopefully most of those who blazed equality trail are not pulling the ladder up behind them.

Still. Perspective.

[ Parent ]
What we are asking America to embrace
is the set of principles enshrined in the Constitution.  You know--equal treatment under law, etc.  That fact that that seems "foreign" to most Americans (and I agree with you that it does) is one of the clearest signs of this country's abject failure to live up the the ideals it claims to revere.  All spin, no justice.

Cynic, n.  A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.
-Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

[ Parent ]
Because, just like Miz Carrie
People like to have someone to look down upon. It makes them feel better about their own failed and worthless lives.

This is why religion is evil and direct democracy is a Very. Bad. Idea. Both contribute to mob rule directed by the lowest common denominator.

God save ornery old queens! - kevinchi

Schadenfreude: It's What's For Dinner
And here everyone's favorite same-sex couple celebrates Carrie's meltdown.

NOM - Carrie Prejean's
face no longer pops up in your face on NOMs home page.

Prejean
"Prejean": the act of claiming to be a virgin, when in fact, the person has been fucked so many times that an SUV could be parked inside of their vagina.

Several "bottom" gay men are also guilty of pulling a Prejean.

Forget GOD. Only Sarah Palin can Save her now!
;)

lol brb
Downloading her "sex tape."  98% done.

There's more!
Not really a surprise, but Joe Jervis is now reporting that there are a lot more nude pics and seven more sex videos of Miss Jugs for Jesus. http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2...
