Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

I am not fluent in Spanish, so I don't follow the remarks as to the accused in the video clip.  It is reassuring that a likely perpetrator has been identified for such a heinous crime.  I hope the Puerto Rican society learns something good from a persistent prosecution of this case.  Hate crimes must not be tolerated anywhere within our jurisdictions.

Good catch...
... I am reminded that these things don't happen in a vacuum.  This sort of stuff is totally enabled by the Catholic Church. The philosophical nuances of "We don't hate homosexuals, we hate the sin of homosexuality" are lost on the thugs with machetes in their hands.

Nice Rosery
I wonder if he was praying to his Catholic god when he chopped off this mans head and the rest of his limbs?

vanhattan

Puerto Rican Authorities

Um, presumption of innocence...
and a fair trial. All that?

Sure
But if you read the earlier post, he CONFESSED. And used a gay panic defense.

Well, I see he's now apparently asked forgiveness from the family
But even so, just because a cop says someone has confessed, doesn't mean they have. Wait to see it in open court with a guilty plea.

And confessing to the act doesn't mean you're guilty of the charge.

And if you're guilty of the charge and even if you plead guilty, a fair trial involves the story being told in a calm and careful way, and sentencing being cautious and considered.

Suggestions of a fitting punishment being gang rape every day for the rest of someone's life smacks of mob justice and cruel and unusual punishment. You guys invented the prohibition on it I think.

By all means, charge and prosecute, let both sides put their evidence, and sentence heavily if there's a finding of guilt. But if what you're trying to do is protect and even create a civilised society by punishing uncivilised behaviour, maybe mob justice and torture aren't such a great idea.

Sadly...
anyone wanna bet they find the prep's sperm inside the victim? I think after they did it, the perp warned the the young man to keep his mouth shut, but the young man teased him and was killed for fear word would get out they'd been to bed together. The only gay panic here is the panic the murderer had when he realized he might be outed as gay himself. It's horrible to contemplate, but I think that's what happened.

Too typical
This confessed killer is typical of many young machos who pick up gays, get their rocks off, and beat the shit out of the gay afterwards.    The fact that this punk has four children means nothing so far as his sexual preference.   Every buggarone in San Juan has at least a couple children, and a wife who carries out the duties that their mothers used to do.    She cooks, cleans, and provides them the "proof" that even though they have sex with men every day, they are "straight".   None of them have jobs, all of them have criminal records, and most are into street drugs.   Oh, and most of them are gorgeous.

I read two pieces written by a young Puerto Rican man, "Ghetto Hippie"/Victorio Reyes, who lives in Albany, New York.    The one he wrote on Monday gives a short simple explanation of what he feels is the problem.   He attributes the problem to patriarchy & heterosexism which take on a different flavor among colonized people.    He hates patriarchy, heterosexism, and violence against gays.   He gave me a different insight into the Puerto Rican psyche on this problem of homophobia.

After living in San Juan for 12+ years, until 2005, I attribute a major part of the hatred against gays to both the Roman Catholic Church & the Evangelicals leaders.    They are out in force against any equal rights for the LGBT community on the island.    They preach things about homosexuals that would curl your hair if it were naturally straight.  Remember, there is not a clear separation of church and state in Puerto Rico.    Most of the religious leaders do their preaching from the steps of the Capitol in San Juan.    Normally, they are flanked by as many local politicos as can fit on the steps beside them....from the Governor on down. Pedro Julio Serrano goes much more lightly on the religious community there because he is an experienced activist.   Pedro Julio is the best thing to happen to the gay community in Puerto Rico ever.   He is fantastic.   Love him.

Yes, PR is a part of the USA, but it is a different world.    Like here in the states, there are many wonderful people who work hard for LGBT rights, but it is a different world.    That is why I liked Victorio Reyes take on it.
