News to me, at least -- and to most people here, I expect.  It's only in right-wing media fantasy-land that a big-business corporate centrist counts as "left-wing".

And no, even the Obama fans who seem to be Beatlemania re-enactors aren't as crazy as the Palin fans -- the Obama fans aren't (literally!) screaming for blood and murder.  Despite the recent fashion on the right for ontological relativism, content matters.

Man-on-the-street interviews only prove the shallowness of your average biped. Regardless of their political affiliation, people's political real ideas are rarely informed. You could run the same "look-how-stupid-they-are" report with Obama supporters. Fluff! Filler! Boring!

A Caveat

It's obvious that most of these people are fools that watch too much Fox & Beck and are basically just unthinking angry sheep.
But while watching this I couldn't help but wonder if I'd be any more articulate in explaining my political beliefs and reasons for following/liking one politician or ideology. I believe/hope I would be but it does motivate me to think about and explore a little more deeply what I espouse rather than just parroting back what I hear Rachel Maddow tell me for example. I do think she's qualitatively differently from Beck and his ilk but still we shouldn't take anything at face value. In other words question everything and get a variety of viewpoints.

Remarkable. Not one can quote one policy point.

There was a Republican talking point last year that suggested that Obama was "all things to all voters" and had no firm stance on an issue - that he simply mirrored whatever view his supporters most stridently wanted.

It is amazing to actually see that - not one of these sheep can tell him ONE single thing SP actaully stands for.

I especially like the use of the phrase "You know..." as either punctuation or as a total answer.  My standard response when I hear that is to say, "No.  I do NOT know. Please tell me."  and watch the idiot squirm.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

So what?

Never got the hatred of Sarah Palin, she is not presidential material, but is still a fairly likable and charismatic persona.  I like the fact that she came to political prominence from such humble beginnings, and yes she is an inspiration to women who try to joggle a career and a family.  

I don't understand why she elicits such an angry response from some people.  I disagree with her when it comes to politics, but I don't have a problem with the people that identify with her, or buy her book.
