Is there anyone she hasn't had on her show trying to give a balanced point of view??  There is only one point of view with bigotry and racism.  It is wrong.  No one needs  to continually hear the side of hate and bigotry in the interest of fair reporting on CNN.

I think that this is a key point to understanding a lot of evangelical homophobia. A lot of fundamentalists really do believe this. I remember a teenage Sunday school class in which the teacher drew this diagram on the board:

Lust--> masturbation --> soft porn --> hard porn--> DEATH!

Once Satan gets a grip on you, it is a slippery slope down into sins that you thought you were incapable of. Many probably even still think that gay people are just straight people who indulged their sexual fantasies too much and slipped into the dark world of alternate sexuality and perversion.

That used to be a common perception. In fact, I remember reading a case several decades ago in which a prosecutor convinced a jury to convict a man for the rape and murder of a female minor by proving that he was a homosexual.

What the hell was I doing in Oaxaca in 1992, on the eve of the Zapatista revolution?

The Express Sin Plan

Personally, I signed up for the Express Sin Plan and went straight from Lust --> hard porn.

Whenever I read these posts, I just feel sad.  No, not for him -- he's a goner.  And not for the gays he smears; he's not got the power to offend any gay person who doesn't give him the power to offend. 

No, I feel sad for some poor woman married to this jagoff, suffering the extent of this guy's limited sexual knowledge.  Seriously, if "butch" v. "femme" lesbianism is something he can't grasp, I doubt he can handle the intracacies of the vagina.  No matter how many times you tell him to lick "the man rowing the canoe", he ain't gonna.  (Besides, that would be sodomy, wouldn't it?)

Seriously, though. These people have an unhealthy attraction to us. Their attending pride is like blackspoltion films from the 60s.  If they saw us as equal and normal, our exoticism, and thus their fantasies,  would dissappear.

I spent last Saturday at the Gay Pride parade in Columbus, Ohio. I try to go every year, at least for the past seven or so. Try as I might to avoid the confrontation there is just something inside of me that will not allow me to stay home.

What is that something do you think?  He apparently attends Pride more faithfully than most of the gay guys I know.

How funny I did not know

it was this guy I confronted last Sat. at the parade.  He and his five other "masculine" men for jesus, were on their bull "crap" horn spouting crap.  I had had enough as we walked by.  I told my partner and the other two people we were with to hold on.  I walked right up to him and was six inches from his face and yelled that "Jesus hates ignorance" 

I am looking for it now but this is also the guy who's son was busted by Lancaster, Ohio police for downloading kiddie porn.  I am looking for the story and will post a link.

NEWARK, Ohio -- The 24-year-old son of conservative religious activist David Daubenmire will spend the next five years on probation after a Licking County judge convicted him on a child-pornography charge.

At a hearing this morning, Zachary Daubenmire pleaded no contest to a felony charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor. Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Marcelain convicted him on the charge and immediately sentenced him.

Daubenmire, whose father has fought pornography as the founder of Pass the Salt Ministries and Minutemen United, also was fined $1,000 and must spend two years in prison if he violates terms of his probation.

He could have received a maximum of eight years in prison. The judge also designated him as a sexually-oriented offender.

Marcelain said in court that he thinks the younger Daubenmire showed genuine remorse and is in now in counseling for an addiction that he told the judge began when he was 15.

Authorities found 37 still images and 26 movies depicting young girls enaging in sex with men on the family's home computer. A computer repair technician discovered the pornography last August.

David Daubenmire is a former head football coach at London High School. He gained national attention in 1999 after the American Civil Liberties Union sued the school district to stop the coach from leading his team in prayer.

Zachary Daubenmire was a star quarterback at London. He went on to play football at Kenyon College and Denison University and became a teacher and coach. He has since resigned from those positions.

It was Newark not Lancaster.

1. Daubenmire knows a whole lot about "meat-packing".

He should be confused.  Not all lesbians are "manly".  Perhaps Daubenmire haven't heard of a "lipstick lesbian".  And not all gays are "femmes".  There are leathermen who are more masculine than LaBitch and Daubenmire combined.  Also, there are some who workout at the gym, being more muscular than the fat-ass fundies.

They don't hate church.  They hate the bigots who run it.  This is from the same person who said that there are 16 gay-affirming churches being represented in the parade.

These are real Christians.

-The reason why the real Christians won't storm the "gates of Hell" is because they're really humble.  Daubenmire and his fellow scum aren't humble.

Columbus parade

I live in Columbus, and attended this year's parade, as I've done for many years, so I feel the need to say a couple of things.

It's obvious from "Coach's" diatribe that he was upset with the large number of churches present.  I didn't realize that there were 16, but I noticed a marked increase from past years.  It was very impressive.  There were also many corporate-sponsored floats -- more than I've seen in the past.  Overall, it almost made me feel as if the rest of America loves us gay folk.  I realize that's not true, but it was a nice couple of minutes of euphoria.  And although I'm not religious, it was really nice to see so many churches affirming their belief that all of us are fellow humans.

The other thing is his reference to a scenario where 'Women with naked breasts, men with bare butts, and simulated sex-acts filled the parade as the police focused on our signs in fear that the Word of God ?might offend someone.? '  Sadly (!), I didn't see any nudity at this year's parade.  So my opinion is that he's simply lying about what went on to stir up his base and make a few bucks for himself.  He probably wasn't even there ...
