Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Gay teen boy in women's clothing gunned down in Ft. Lauderdale

by: Pam Spaulding

Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 06:00:00 AM EST

Your heart breaks for the family of Simmie Williams. By day he cared for his nephew and cooked dinner in the evening for his mother. But when he went out on the streets of Fort Lauderdale that were known for prostitution as Beyoncé, Simmie crossed paths with lowlifes who shot and killed the 17-year-old, leaving Simmie in the street like a piece of trash. (Sun Sentinel):
The shooting death of a gay teenage boy who was dressed in women's clothing is being investigated as a possible hate crime, while detectives try to determine whether he was targeted because of his sexual orientation.

Simmie Williams Jr., 17, was attacked on the 1000 block of Sistrunk Boulevard by two young men who wore dark clothing and might live in the neighborhood, police said. Williams, who was wearing a dress and was known in the area by his first name or as "Chris" or "Beyonce," was shot about 12:45 a.m. Friday and soon afterward died at Broward General Medical Center, police said. It's unclear what Williams was doing in the area, about four miles from his house, but police are investigating whether he was working as a prostitute, officials said.

Williams' mother said her son was openly gay, but she didn't know what he did when he went out at night, and she didn't know he wore women's clothes.

...At the same time, being black, gay and dressing in women's clothing made Williams "a minority within a minority within a minority," said Grant Lynn Ford, dean of Sunshine Cathedral in Fort Lauderdale, a church that ministers to gays, lesbians and their families.

Sometimes people picked on Williams, but he knew how to brush it off, his mother said.

Williams had signed up Wednesday for Job Corps, a federal government program designed to teach students vocational skills. He planned to get his GED and then go to culinary school, his mother said.

Also: See zchildree's diary, "Unto the least of these...", where the connection between the horror of this crime and the comments from Ken Hutcherson in my prior post is made - "Did Simmie Williams Jr. deserve to be killed for being "effeminate", Pastor Hutcherson?"

on the web, this person and their family are being attacked by the typical idiots of ignorance and being blamed for the attack.

I've dealt with some of the comments, but in doing so, I approach it from a trans perspective, because that is what is being seized on by most of them.

Its not that he's gay, its that he's cross dressing.

he was working his way out of the barrio.

IT saddens me deeply, that people find it easier to accuse him of misdeeds instad of thinking the best of him.

gender norms
It's unbelievable that a tragedy of this kind unearths such discomfort with facts that challenge gender norms that someone can say (in those comments) "at least this neighborhood takes care of its own garbage." Using the cover of anonymity to dehumanize this young man to affirm their own issues and bigotry shows how sick our society is on this issue.

Another peaceful friendly trannie gone.
The slime over at FR are doubtless already crowing with obscene joy and denouncing his preferences in clothing as 'terrorism' against heterosexuality.

and what about the HRC and their friends ??
Ya know, cos it's not like they think we're human either

So many so quickly
I am stunned at the number of reports of anti-trans violence lately.

It's disgusting and disgraceful.

Something has to be done.
The question is what is most effective? Hate Crime legislation? Education campains? Protests? Riots?

Stand up and defend ourselves

Any oppressed group -- especially an oppressed minority -- can do only so much on their own.

THey must ally with like minded groups and people and educate and stand up for it *anytime* it is done.

All of those things are effective at achieving the goal, but to pick one that is most effective, it must be education, which takes the longest and most arduous route.

bluntly, it will take martyrs -- people of great popularity and renown -- suffering such things for it to become truly noticed at a level that's deserving.

Otherwise, it just becomes a matter of "another one" getting killed. Tsk tsk.

That said, the increase in reports is because of greater awareness -- the tragedies are being recorded better, and there is a greater number of us dying now than we've ever been able to record before.

That messes up the old stats, too.

 Makes it all the worse.

Violence is not the answer -- not now, at least, imo.

For now, we simply stand up and defy those who would make the victims responsible for the crimes against them.

How many dead is enough?
A Hate Crimes Act sacrificed to political expediency and ENDA gutted to the point where only straight appearing assimilationists Log Cabin Republicans would be covered in the name of appearances and political ambition have const at least two of our people, and no matter whether you identify as gay, Lesbian, bi or trans, they are our kin.

Just how many of us have to die in support of blind leadership who would rather have dinner and drinks than to actually take up the torch of radicalism that started our movement at Stonewall in the Uprising?

How many lives have paid for our blind support of Democratic politics with so very little tangiable return?

Why are Obama and Hillary absent from these funerals?
If it were a racial killing, you could count upon their attending.

And when are we agnry enough to demand a new kind of activism, that is in fact the old kind of activism.

WWSRD?
What would Sylvia Rivera Do?

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Politicians at Funerals
If I were among the friends and family of these people I wouldn't want Obama, Hillary, or any other politician whoring my friend's death for personal gain. If Obama or Hillary want to pay their respects then they should do it privately; maybe they could make an unpublicized visit to the funeral home.

again?!
Oh...my god. Sorry, this makes me too sad...and oh...SO PISSED!

This is the third murder in a week or so.
This latest carnage comes on the heels of the murders of Lawrence King and Sanesha Stewart. There were about twenty five murders last year and the figure is likely to be higher this year - it always rises during elections.

That's partly due to the steady drumbeat of intolerant gaybashing from priests, pastors and all manner of superstitious, bigoted frauds. The other big factor, as usual, is that we consistently get stabbed in the back by the Democrats and Republicans. None of them, including Obama or Billary raised a stink when Pelosi and Reid dropped the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill in the toilet. The bill, which had already passed both houses, was quashed by Democrats Pelosi and Reid so that Republicans couldn't claim that Democrats are pro-GLBT and so they could pander to bigot votes. Why didn't Obama, Hillary or most of the Democrats stand up for up us when fellow Democrat Barney Frank gutted ENDA? Why didn't either of them demand the repeal of the Clintons DOMA and DADT while they sat in Congress? Why did they allow fellow Senate Democrat Diane Feinstein to ram through gaybashing Bush nominees for the 5th US Circuit Court of appeals and as Attorney General?

Those who think that the anti-GLBT maneuvers and backstabbing of these politicians have no effect are totally wrong. They convinced at least three thugs that they have friends in high places who agree with both them and the religious sociopaths that our lives are worthless. It won't end until we build a massive militant movement to force Congress to pass tough hate crimes and hate speech laws.

With Democrats like these who needs Republicans?

The looter rich much prefer working with Democrats like Obama and the Clintons - they're greedier, they fool more people and they're able to get away with a lot more than Republicans.
