Straight supporters still don't get it...hey it doesn't implicate them.

I want/need the transcript of that last Brownbat quote about fighting to take away the rights of all those millions because still, many straight allies/supporters of equality her in California (and other places I'm sure) don't know how determined many people are out there to restrain and limit our equality.

Especially hatred focused at nothing that ever has or ever will harm or attack them. I just cannot understand it.

But a response to that should have been, OK Mr. Brownback, then we are going to work tirelessly to portray you and the rest of your ilk as the pathetic gay hating bigots that you really are.

There's something especially insidious about their commitment to stop marriage equality, and other initiatives to fight discrimination. I think it comes down to the simple fact that they believe that they, heterosexuals, are better than homosexuals. It's a supremacist attitude that they will never admit (much like many racists won't admit), but comes through bright as day with their actions.

This is exactly why

People need to quit complaining about how the partys don't represent them.  A vote for a third party candidate means you are complicit if our rights start disappearing further.  I don't agree with Obama 100%, but I do know that Obama will pick judges who won't throw out Roe V. Wade, Lawrence v. Texas.  The Republicans are as close as they have ever been in defining the court so that social conservatives will get their way in court decisions.  Roe V. Wade is probably going to be overturned in the next five years if McCain is president.  He made a deal with the religious right, and he will have to pay with judges.  Gay marriage will eventually come down the road, and conservative judges may hold back marraige for decades.  Any person who does not vote for one of the two major parties is in trouble.  Also, I am sure Obama will get rid of DADT.  So he is not perfect.  But Nader is an egoist joke.  Again, if you choose not to vote for one of the majors because of small differences, you are hurting yourself, your family, your country.  Vote Obama!!!

I'm voting in a state where Obama has a double-digit lead.  How, exactly, does voting for a candidate who shares my positions on issues make me more complicit in a theoretical McCain presidency than the Democrats who quietly allow voter suppression, intimidation, and fraud?

Government by theocracy a goal of Dominionism. Wikipeida has a an article, the section on Christian Reconstructionism is important, though it seems to have left out a key point -- The goal of Dominionism is to trigger the second coming of Christ and that can't happen until this Christian nation has been purified of all wrongdoing. And we gays are right up there beside abortionists as a big impurity. I've looked into Dominionism, but alas don't have any links.

How crazed are these people on the fringe right that they fixate on a right that has zero impact on their marriages?

Types like Brownback, Dobson, Perkins, etc. see themselves, literally, as on a mission from God to "stamp out evil" everywhere and there's no two ways about it, they see our marriages as "evil" and homosexuals as "pawns of Satan".  They view "Onward Christian Soldiers" literally.

Truthfully, this is no different than how Southern slave owners viewed Abolitionists prior to the Civil War.  They were seen as going against "God's divine order of society".

Brownback and friends should be viewed by us, and most mainstream Americans, for what they really are:

Mad fanatics.
