The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Mother Schlafly opens her trap at Bates College

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Jan 28, 2009 at 23:08:20 PM EST

Too bad it wasn't the Bates Motel. The aging anti-feminist icon is still croaking out her drivel with fervor, this time at a talk at Bates College, entitled "Conservativism vs. Feminism: The Great Debate."

The 81-year-old anti-gay mother of a gay man was the guest of the Bates College Republicans and she put on a show for them with this oh-so-retro view of women:

For nearly two hours, she belittled the feminist movement as "teaching women to be victims," decried intellectual men as "liberal slobs" and argued that feminism "is incompatible with marriage and motherhood."

...Schlafly asserted women should not be permitted to do jobs traditionally held by men, such as firefighter, soldier or construction worker, because of their "inherent physical inferiority."

"Women in combat are a hazard to other people around them," she said. "They aren't tall enough to see out of the trucks, they're not strong enough to carry their buddy off the battlefield if he's wounded, and they can't bark out orders loudly enough for everyone to hear."

At one point, Schlafly also contended that married women cannot be sexually assaulted by their husbands.

"By getting married, the woman has consented to sex, and I don't think you can call it rape," she said.

Wow. Just wow. Statements like that are so out there that it's hard to believe she's serious, but oh, she is.

Hat tip, Christin M.

Who put the acid in my diet coke?
At one point, Schlafly also contended that married women cannot be sexually assaulted by their husbands.

"By getting married, the woman has consented to sex, and I don't think you can call it rape," she said.

Yikes!

That's giving me a Timothy Leary-magnitude flashback....

to sixteenth century English Common Law.

>^..^<

She's a has-been.
A crashing bore, a town busybody who doesn't even have entertainment value going for her. An aging Ann Coulter without the hair flip and cocktail dress.

What's shocking is not what she's saying, but that people still pay her to say it.

A question
Her presence on the national scene has always evoked the question from me:

Why does her husband allow her to speak in public?  As an "authority" over men, no less?  He obviously isn't beating her enough.

Probably
because she only talks about female subservience, so it's okay.

Fetch my pearls, I need to clutch them!

Easy answer
Why does her husband allow her to speak in public?
Because any time she speaks in public is time when she's not at home speaking to him.

If you were her husband, would you want her at home?  Or anywhere else?

Why does that sound familiar?
Oh right.  Dick Armey on MSNBC Hardball.

He's dead.

Phyllis, Phyllis, Phyllis
I always enjoy thinking about how she made a career of traveling the world telling women that they shouldn't have careers.

The stupefying irony!

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

That's one old lady
that I'd like to pop in the jaw.

John Schlafly, the self-loathing faggot
Who agrees with his mother that gays are sub-human, immoral scum - and those are the good ones that somehow manage not to sexually molest 5 year old boys.

The amazing thing is that John hasn't committed suicide long ago - not because he's gay, but to get away from his mother.

As a non-gay person, I hope the reader will allow that the word "faggot" is appropriately used here. If not, I apologize.

"faggot" is nice
...but "Huckabee" will get your fanny kicked in these parts, mister....

:-)

Decades more of abuse? - OR - Stonewall.  Nationwide.  NOW!

That bitch still living?
Golly gee...I had somehow thought Bitch Schlafly had dropped dead somewhere a few years back. Well Bates College has always been sorta second rate and probly could not get a really good speaker so they called Phil. I once had the distinct pleasure of being able to call her an asshole in person at a function...this was a zillion years ago...and that she really should go back to the kitchen and bake cookies and let the men discuss issues and not worry her purty little teased hair head over such things. The people around us laughed heartily. What a "see you next tuesday".

holding the torch Anita Bryant tried before we extiguished it!!!
That woman is seriously old in mentality and is hopefully not going to be followed even if she is listened to....

Women cannot be raped by husbands...WHOA she must be her own husbands property then..... THAT was the social way things happened before enlightenment.. DIM bulb in that lampshade.....

Women can't yell loud enough?
I wish she had been at the recent historical recreation battle I was at, in which I heard, from across a battlefield clashing with sword on shield, a clear female voice call out, "You are EXPENDABLE!  Now CHARGE!"

Women in battle
I have long been fascinated by CAtherine of Aragon and her mother Isabella- both well acquainted not just with Court but with leading on battlefields.

And do NOT get me started on Good Queen Bess or others on her side of the Channel!

Schlafly cranks up agitation at Bates

By J.T. Leonard , Special to the Sun Journal
Thursday, March 29, 2007

LEWISTON - For four decades, right-wing icon Phyllis Schlafly has been an anti-feminist spokeswoman for the national conservative movement....

But Thank You, Pam-  an excellent opportunity for Charlie and I to point out true evil/insanity to 13 year old Mary, who is home with head cold!

In fact, they are looking up Schlafly right now- Mary was wondering why I squawked so loudly and said I would have taken her and her bff to Bates for a life/POV-altering event.

Teach the children well, indeed...

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

I would think she was getting senile, except...
I would think she was getting senile, except she has been saying stupid stuff like this her whole life.

How hard life must be for the wingers now.  Bleating the same stupid crap, hoping for a comeback.

Lesbian feminists have taken over Iceland
and we're coming soon to a government near you, Phyllis....

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Phyllis never met my feminist mother
Who, by the way, managed to be married for 35 years before she died. So much for the alleged incompatibility. However, this really started me guffawing:

"Women in combat are a hazard to other people around them," she said. "They aren't tall enough to see out of the trucks, they're not strong enough to carry their buddy off the battlefield if he's wounded, and they can't bark out orders loudly enough for everyone to hear."

Let's see, when my sister accidently started a fire under our refrigerator (it's a LONG story), I saw my 120 lb, 5'3" tall mother move that refrigerator with one hand, while yelling at me (I was at the other end of the house), over both the sound of a vacuum cleaner and the air conditioners, to get my father up (he worked nights and slept days) and get out of the house.

Of course, she did have back problems afterwards.

I remember taking a seminar on gender roles while in college and the reading assignment one day was a piece by Andrea Dworkin about how marriage was nothing but legalized prostitution. The companion piece was from Schlafly, talking about how women have the real power in a marriage because they can withold sex to get what they want. Want a fur coat? Refuse to sleep with him until he buys you one. No new car? No head for 90 days. Kind of frightening that Dworkin and Schlafly would agree on anything, but even worse that Schlafly thought it was a postive thing.

My great-grandmother
was 6' in her stocking feet. I remember one of her sisters was almost as tall and a niece was a career Army gal.

FWIW, I'd put my bellow up against ANY man or bullhorn any day of the week...

Re: women in combat...
>"Women in combat are a hazard to other people around them," she said. "They aren't tall enough to see out of the trucks, they're not strong enough to carry their buddy off the battlefield if he's wounded, and they can't bark out orders loudly enough for everyone to hear."

The insane part is the assumption that ALL women are going to be shorter, physically weaker, and quieter than ALL men. Even in the self-selecting atmosphere of a quasi-volunteer armed forces and the subset assigned to active combat duty, that's not going to always be the case. Hell, my career Army Master Sergeant (ret.) brother has, maybe, a 1/2 inch on me in height. Anyone wanna tell him he couldn't serve in combat "because he couldn't see over a truck?"

Bottom line: as w/ any physically demanding job, there are going to be criteria that women AND men are going to have to meet. Female fire fighters CAN AND DO lift men taller/heavier than themselves, all the frickin time.

Also, Schafly obviously hasn't gotten the memo re: every general whose experienced recent combat in Iraq and Afghanistan: when dealing with urban geurilla warfare, insurgency, and combatants who blend into the civilian populace, the greatest weapon a combat soldier has is their BRAIN - learning the language and local customs, projecting an equal measure of confidence and self-control, protecting civilians who in turn may ally with you over the insurgents, and awareness of your surroundings and what may have changed in the last 48, 24, or 1 hour. None of that is gender based.

Just 'cause you are inferior, Phyllis, doesn't mean the rest of us w/ 2 X chromosomes are.

a dull useless BATTLE AX

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?

Why is it always okay
for right-wing persons and groups--Sarah Palin, the Mormons, the Catholics, et al--to claim they're victims but terrible, just terrible, when anyone else does it?  For that matter, what weird logic leads Phyl to claim that women (or anyone else) who stand up for themselves are "being victims"?

I am not interested in picking up crumbs of compassion thrown from the table of someone who considers himself my master. I want the full menu of rights.  -Archbishop Desmond Tutu

I love the part about women not being able to bark orders
Obviously a city girl.  Any rural mom can call her kids home for dinner from up to a mile away.  And she had better not have to call twice.  Oh, and she can drive a combine too. (Probably with more skill than any tank driver)

Her own dogma teaches that women are mentally and emotionally inferior to men
And not just physically inferior. Therefore, according to the very same clap-trap she is spouting, she is only a woman and her views can -- nay, they should -- be ignored as irrelevant and ill-informed.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.
