The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Another Republican protects the sanctity of marriage

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri May 09, 2008 at 07:00:00 AM EDT

Whoops. This NY pol was not only fornicating outside the marital bond, he was procreating with a sex partner other than his wife. He receives bonus points for being charged with driving while intoxicated! (NYT):
Representative Vito J. Fossella, a Staten Island Republican who was arrested on May 1 in Alexandria, Va., and charged with drunken driving, issued a statement on Thursday acknowledging that he had had an extramarital affair with Laura Fay, a former Air Force lieutenant colonel, and that the two of them have a 3-year-old daughter together.

The prospect that Mr. Fossella could face a mandatory jail sentence if convicted had already threatened to bring to an end his decade-long career in the House, where Mr. Fossella is the only Republican representing New York City.

...Mr. Fossella, 43, was driving with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when he was pulled over. He faces a mandatory five days in jail if convicted.

...In the Democratic stronghold of St. George, the neighborhood nearest the ferry to Manhattan, patrons at the Cargo Cafe weighed in on the scandal.

"Vito Fossella's behavior is a disgrace to himself, his family and to Staten Island," said an anesthesiologist, Dr. John Ferguson, 44. "Given the fact that he votes along the Bush-Cheney line 90 percent of the time, which means he sees himself as a moral values candidate, I find his behavior completely, but not surprisingly, hypocritical. He should resign immediately."

You have to read Howie Klein's take on this one.

Hat tip, Linda.

Here we go again
Once more, the corrupting power of gay marriage rears its ugly head!  This Congressman's marriage wasn't undone by his own sleeping with someone other than his wife and fathering a child, oh no!  He would never have gone off the rails like this if not for the concerted effort by homos and lesbos to get married. They undermine marriage in more ways than anyone can imagine--and here, an upstanding, Bush-loving decent Republican is suffering for our sinful behavior.

He deserves pity, respect, support, re-election, and mad props for scoring with such a babe.

Lev Raphael, author of My Germany, now on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

....score Lev.
Yeah, ...and I haven't seen a pic of his wife (first wife, whatever) yet, but haven't looked too hard.. why look past that.

apparently his sister is a lesbian
his sister is a lesbian with a partner who marches in pride according to Joe My God.  This makes the story even sadder and makes him more pathetic.

Can we HELP protect the sanctity of marriage?
The next time more BS legislation to protect the "sanctity of marriage" pops up, what if: instead of our community automatically protesting, we lobby FOR the bill.

Of course of lobbying efforts include that the bill be modified to include:

1. Adultery and fornication are felonies
2. Elimination of no fault divorce, no screw that,
elimination of ALL divorce, after all, marriage is
  sacred.
3. Make it illegal to have or adopt children other than a
two-parent married couple. If you're a single parent and
give birth, your child is taken by the state.
4. Remove the marriage penalties with the IRS and penalize
  all single people

Perhaps, just like judo, doing the opposite of what your opponents expects, can be far more effective that our expected automatic protest.

The lunacy of same-sex unions having any impact becomes more apparent when we push for the logical extensions of the idea of protecting marriage.

...FUMO did that in Michigan.
You saw where he had added an amendment disallowing most divorce. That was one reason the bill was tabled according to some, who finally saw how hypocritical the whole idea is.

If you're talking FUMO in Philly
Are you sure that's his bill?  I'm no fan of his but he supports Gay marriage and isn't a right wing fundie.

As for #3 above, if single parent households are unacceptable, add that those who are widowed should face losing their children if they are not remarried within a year.

also  you should also add that if the purpose of marriage is to raise children, people should be required to start having children within a year of the wedding.

[ Parent ]
Shouldn't that be
(in the case of widows with children) remarried within a year to the brother of the deceased husband? After all that's what the Bible says and, according to the fundies, that's the only truth.

[ Parent ]
....sorry got state confused.

After all, you're all the same east of the Mississippi right? lol. Michigan's was the other sad story.

No sorry Pennsylvanians, I did know it was FUMO and that was not his bill... it was an amendment he added (there were actually 14 by the time th bill was tabled) as an almost sarcastic response to the bill itself.  I do think it is a good tactic, but Karen is right as ours (California) is a constitutional referendum it cannot be amended.

You did see where the AFA today still says the bill is active.

I believe that tactic was also used in Arizona recently
Too bad it can;t be tacked on to the voter initiative here in California.

Washington State initiative 957
there was a ballot initiative (I 957) in WA last year brought about by the WA Defense of Marriage Alliance.  it was withdrawn due to insufficient signatures.  however, the point of it was to make a point, not get a law passed.  too bad their website doesn't appear to be active any longer - it was quite good.

DECLINE 2 SIGN REFERENDUM 71!

Lost in the Shuffle
Who gets drunk to go visit their illegitimate 3 year old? Gross.

who defends reckless drunk driving by saying they're going to take their sick child to the hospital?
if he had been telling the truth (we know he wasn't) he would have been compounding his reckless actions by endangering a minor.  Typical moral supremacist.

My guess is that he will, at some point in time, blame and/or sue the bar:

The Daily News reports the congressman and his buddy got kicked out of a Washington, D.C., bar hours before Fossella's arrest. Waiters at the Logan Tavern tell the paper that both men were incapable of driving and that at one point, Fossella's pal-known only as "Brian"-passed out in front of the men's room.

[ Parent ]
In case you were wondering...
Fossella did, in fact, vote for the Federal Marriage amendment in 204 and 206, for the Marriage Protection Act, and to ban gay adoption in DC.

As someone (and I can't remember who, now) said: Eye. Mote. Beam.

The comment
He receives bonus points for being charged with driving while intoxicated!

got me thinking, we should make a game out of our fine morally superior republican political figures. A sort of, "who can top the latest incident, game"

Whichever repub, can do the most outrageous thing could win a prize.

We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. -Karl Popper, The Open Society and Its Enemies

Why do I do this to myself?
Why do I go to CNN.com at all? Well I did find an article that I thought fit quite nicely with this story.

http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn....

These latest results go along with a Pew poll from 2006. It found 47% of conservative Republicans described themselves as "very happy", compared to only 28% of liberal Democrats who felt that way.

Well of course! Because we are fighting to be treated like equal citizens they are getting a bit on the side.

watashi no yomeiri wa doko desu ka

at least the guy is consistent
I mean, he is willing to hurt any family.  His or mine.

word has it
he is resigning within the next 72 hours

http://www.queersunited.blogspot.com

Run a poll.
I'll bet he just stays. ... until the comments die down.  NYT article says it will save the Republican party a ton of money if he stays until July 1, cuz then they won't have to run a special election.  Maybe they will split it with him.

word has it
he wants to run for re-election now
