The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Faith, morality and a message to General Pace

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Mar 14, 2007 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

Faith in America, an organization formed to end legal and spiritual discrimination against LGBT people in America by providing information about religion-based bigotry and its historic expressions, takes exception with General Pace's remarks about the immorality of gays, since he used his beliefs to justify public policy that discriminates against gays and lesbians who wish to serve their country.

Jimmy Creech, executive director of Faith In America:

"While General Pace just tried to clarify his remarks by aligning his comments with standing military policy, a major issue remains unexplained.  General Pace needs to clarify what in his upbringing defined homosexuality to be immoral to him. Was it his civil life, his schooling, his religion that taught him that?  This is the question parents, teachers, clergy and the media should ask.  If it was his religious upbringing, we already know that religion has a history in the teaching of discrimination and hate.

"It is ridiculous to think that General Pace could curb his personal views when dealing with military policy.  His comments exposed more than simply `don't ask, don't tell' policy for the military, but exposed a very real practice in our society: bigotry against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.  We wonder what General Pace would be saying if the question of the day were about African Americans or women serving in the military?

"When a person in such a position of power as General Pace uses a word like `immoral,' the person owes the country an explanation about how he comes to those positions. General Pace owes this country, especially those people who serve in the military, an explanation for attributing his outrageous statements to his upbringing."

It's true. Since the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff chose to share how his upbringing informs his judgment about how best to run the military -- and who has the moral standing to serve -- it's a legitimate question to ask how and why he feels those beliefs should play out in enforcing public policy as a military leader; he's not a minister.

Out gay Tar Heel entrepreneur and founder of Faith in America, Mitchell Gold, has a few words about religious bigotry and how it is used to harm LGBT citizens in the name of God.

Another two republicans......HMMMM
Ther fact that it is once again two republicans comming out in our defense is very telling.  Looks like the Log cabinettes are doing something in their efforts to change their party from within.  The "Democratic" party and progressives are being left behind on this issue.  Although the Republic Party has been against us in the past, it certainly is telling that they are the ones to most recently come out in our defense.  From the two Pam blogged about in the last few weeks who came out against the Ammendments to the two who came out in defense of us on this issue only goes to show, that the "Progressives" have a lot to learn from the "Regressives" when it comes to this issue.  At least as of late.

I posted this on the wrong thread, sorry.
I meant to post this on the thread about warner and the former republic military chief of staff.  Sorry.

Pace was in uniform
Just read Andrew Sullivan's post from a veteran who pointed out that Pace made these comments while in uniform. He said,

"We're putting ourselves in a very dangerous position if we're going to allow men and women in uniform to express their opinions. The distance between a comment and a coup is not as great as many would believe."

This is not a good sign under the current theocratic administration.

This vet claimed that it is against military rules to even wear your uniform to political events, even if they are not speaking or doing anything. Maybe someone can confirm?

Absolutely Correct
One may participate at polical events (i.e. protests, marches, and others) but one cannot wear his or her uniform because he/she becomes a representative of the military as a whole.  Unfortunatley mandated appearances at the President's behest, in uniform, are ok.

If his answers had gone through PA first, they would have been stricken because it is personal beliefs and not current policy.  Opining in agreement, or in opposition to policy is generally frowned upon for all members of the military.  The rule is, in general, to just state the current policy without opining either way.

The military has fired officers for writing editorials anonymously to newspapers in protest of the war because people in their offices recognized their style of writing and turned them in.

Pace's personal opinions should not be US Public / Military Policy

Kind of missing the point
Pace's opinions don't HAVE to support or influence public policy.  Public policy (i.e. DADT) supports Pace's opinion.  In other words, a policy like DADT opens the doors for people like Pace to feel "free" to express their opinion without recourse or apology because the policy supports their opinion.

Here's what I am missing
Pace said that homosexual BEHAVIOR is immoral, but he said heteosexual adultery is also, and he doesn't condone either.

So then, if gays cannot serve because they MIGHT commit what he considers an immoral act, then why is OK for married heterosexuals to serve?

After all, they might commit an immoral act as well.

Why is prior restaint necessary for gays, but not for sraights?

That works for me, Justice.

[ Parent ]
we can even take that a step further
...and ban unmarried heterosexuals as well because they might commit adultery with a fellow soldier's wife. Here's looking forward to the all-eunuch military.

Don't laugh -
Some of the most feared warriors of days past were eunuchs - Saladin's army was filled with eunuch officers, called Jannisaries.

Warriors? They ain't got the balls!

Pace vs FDA vs Sanchez
From today's news: "FDA rules preclude any man who's had even one sexual encounter with another man since 1977 from donating blood. According to the FDA, such men are 60 times more likely to have HIV than the general population, 200 times more likely than first-time donors and 2,000 times more likely than repeat donors."

Let me get this straight: Cpl Matt Sanchez is strictly prohibited from donating blood to the Federal supply but is A-OK to give to his fellow Marines? WTF?!!

ONWARD KKK-RISTIAN SOLDIER
General Pace "Me learned gays are evil and immoral growing up!"

Thank God we have Eric Alva to point to to cause that handgrenade Pace threw to backfire in his miserable face!

THANKS Human Rights Campaign for drawing attention to OUR hero, Alva!

Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Harass
That's the FULL name of the policy.  Gen. Pace is GUILTY of breaking part 3 of the rule.  He should be subject to immediate disciplinary action.  Everyone forgets about the 'Don't Harass' part, and that is very telling.
