Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Palin's AG Pick Called Gays "Degenerates"

by: Bent Alaska

Mon Mar 30, 2009 at 06:09:48 AM EDT

Gov. Sarah Palin named Anchorage lawyer Wayne Anthony Ross as her new attorney general on Thursday. We did not expect her to pick a gay-friendly AG, however his blatant prejudice expressed in a public letter to the state Bar shows that he is a poor choice for our top attorney:
"During a fight several years ago over gay rights, [Allison] Mendel helped organize Anchorage lawyers in support of an anti-discrimination ordinance. Ross wrote a nasty letter to the Bar Association newsletter, using words like "immoral", "perversion" and "degenerates." The language went way beyond reasonable disagreement, Mendel and others said."
-- from Wayne Anthony Ross never a quiet force, Anchorage Daily News

The state House and Senate will hold separate confirmation hearings on his appointment.

Other interesting facts about Wayne Anthony Ross, known as WAR, the initials on his vanity plate:
• He was a founder of Alaska Right to Life and represented, without fee, anti-abortion protesters charged with trespassing. "I feel I have a good relationship with the good Lord (but) if I could overturn Roe vs. Wade, I figure I got my ticket," he told a reporter.
• He was the defense lawyer for former Rep. Vic Kohring, who is serving a 3 1/2 year sentence on corruption charges.
• He opposes Native subsistence rights and was the lead lawyer in the case that got Alaska's subsistence law declared unconstitutional. When running for governor in 2002, he said he would hire a band of "junkyard dog" assistant AG's to challenge the federal law that requires subsistence preference, or seek changes through Congress.
• He wrote for the Anchorage Times and the conservative Voice of the Times, and titles like "KKK ' Art' Project Gets' A' For Courage" are listed on the publications page of his Ross & Miner law office.
• He represented Palin in her ethics case against state GOP chair Randy Ruedrich when both were on the Oil and Gas Commission, and co-chaired Palin's 2006 gubernatorial campaign. He was hoping for an appointment to head the Department of Health and Social Services so he could "stop the department from interfering with families when they should not be interfering and get them interfering with families when they should be interfering" but he was passed over.
• He defended a man who twice poured buckets of water from a passing pickup onto anti-war demonstrators in the rain and snow. His client was convicted of harassment and violating constitutional rights.
• He was the co-chair of Alaskans for Phil Gramm. (Gramm is one of the people responsible for the current economic crisis, and as co-chair of John McCain's presidential campaign he called us "a nation of whiners.")
• He is a former vice president of the National Rifle Association and was in line to become president but was voted out of office. He is still a director of the NRA.
• He ran for governor in 1998 and 2002. (Think he'll use the AG post as a stepping stone to the governor's mansion?)

Wow
The state House and Senate will hold separate confirmation hearings on his appointment.

At least there's hope for some saner heads to prevail here?

They'll add this to the list,
the long list of issues they're fighting her over (she rejected a bunch of stimulus money and is crossing things off the budget.) Having separate hearings gives them more control, and gives us more time to comment (and hopefully get his name withdrawn.)

He sounds like a real piece of work, but...
saying he was the defense attorney for so-and-so or that he represented someone who did something nasty isn't really relevant. Someone accused of a crime has a right to legal counsel, and an attorney has a positive obligation to advocate for their client. Unless the point is that he lost both cases and therefore isn't a very good attorney, based on a sample of two cases.

That doesn't excuse the KKK Art articles, support for Phil Gramm, "degenerate" language, etc., of course. Confirmation hearings should be interesting....start your popcorn!

The point was that he chooses controversial high-profile cases
because he likes the attention they bring him. The newspaper called him 'flamboyant' and said he likes to be the center of attention . . . and he's going to be, for a few weeks at least.

The smartass in me
can't help but notice that the usage of his full name, like so many criminals...

WAR? His name is War?
You got my juices flowing this morning so I posted and linked. Snipets:

"...As a "degenerate" on so many different levels, I'm often dismayed at the gulf that seems to divide the left and the right. But it seems that different playbooks, different assumptions drive each...I am not a political animal, probably because I'm too emotional. Someone starts arguing me down and I just want to hug them or defect to a warmer climate. My vehicle for change has always been personal action...To me, not going shopping is a radical act of social justice..."

WAR?
Before you think this guy is just a buffoon, remember that he WAS an Alaskan "Marriage Commissioner" for many years.

To save you from wasting your time, this exalted and highly coveted position enables one to--are you ready?--marry people.

And becoming a marriage commissioner is about as hard as joining the National Geographic Society.

He actually put this on his resume.

I also noticed that, during Viet Nam, he (like W) was in the National Guard. No sense risking a pretty face when you can pontificate about others' sacrificing their lives.

So, WAR is nobody's fool--he's Sarah's Fool.

He was also knighted by the Vatican,
and he put that on his law practice resume. But he's not a fool, he's a zealot and a grandstander, and he'll defend Sarah passionately - but he may also upstage her!

Thanks, Pam!
Thanks for promoting this post to the Blend's front page this morning. It's all over the 'net (HuffPo, Digg, etc.) spreading the word about his homophobia and bad judgement. (we already knew about her bad judgement . . .) Thanks!

Palin's AG W.A.R....jt
My only question is for the people of Alaska.  Is this the sort of leadership that you want? We the rest of us want to know what you think of your state and its government. If you don't want this reactionary clown to be Alaska's Attorney General, what are you going to do to block his appointment?

Wayne Anthony Ross has a resumé that suits him for work in Chile under General Pinochet but hardly makes him acceptable in most of America. What do Alaskans think of this man and how are you tolerating the governor who appointed him?
