The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Dems cave on Iraq Timelines

by: RadicalRuss

Tue May 22, 2007 at 19:55:34 PM EDT

You may already have heard that the Democratic congressional leadership is prepared to send George W. Bush a blank check... er... a Iraq war funding bill minus the deadlines for troop withdrawal that Bush has promised to repeatedly veto.  The line coming from the Dems is that, "Well, OK, you can have it this time, but we swear, NEXT TIME we make a funding bill, it will have to have deadlines for troop withdrawal!"

The political calculus seems to be that if Dems keep sending timetable bills and George keeps vetoing them, eventually the troops will run out of money.  Now we all know that would be George's fault, leaving troops in harm's way with no funds, but the spin would be that the Dems wouldn't compromise and THEY left troops in harm's way without funds.

Idiots.

These Dems are still reacting politically as if it were September 12, 2001.  This president has a 28% approval rating!  The Iraq War "right direction" numbers are even lower!  The Dems are fearing a "weak on terror" campaign ad in 2008, when such an ad would ring hollow to the general public that has already seen through Bush's facade.

These Dems cannot see the true political calculus:  They did not win 2006; Republicans lost.  Dems were elected in 2006 because Repugs kept us mired in Iraq.  Dems were elected to get us out of Iraq.  They should've just de-funded the war, and failing that, they should've kept sending timetable bills.  The public would've seen George's resoluteness as stubbornness and a failure to see the realities in Iraq and the new politics in America.

So fearing the ghost of attack ads past, the Dems are giving Bush exactly what he always wanted.  So much for "opposition party".  In avoiding an ineffective potential attack ad in 2008, have they ignored the blowback from alienating their anti-war base?  They have if the reaction behind this keyboard is any indicator.

The worst miscalculation in the polical calculus us ignoring the number THREE.  Based on the statistics tallied since the November election, that is how many American troops will be killed every day that the Democrats do not stop this occupation.

I'm hearing that the Dems will fund this emergency appropriation to last through the fiscal year.  Then, in September 2008, with Repugs feeling the heat of upcoming elections, then the Dem leadership will put together appropriations bills with veto-proof timetables for withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

Hmm.  That's only 300 or so troops that will die thanks to Democratic cowardice.  Heckuva job, Reidy!  As Sen. Feingold (a true American patriot) said, "There has been a lot of tough talk from members of Congress about wanting to end this war, but it looks like the desire for political comfort won out over real action."

Speaking of Congress
I flipped by C-Span a couple hours ago and this guy was eulogizing Falwell during the general speech session.  A guy named Goodlatte should be representing Seattle, not Lynchburg, VA, but that being said, he seems to even be putting this as the main issue on his web site.  I wonder how much of his campaign was paid for by ol' Jerry.  He was reading newspaper articles because he was waiting for Roy Blunt to show up.  That guy has a "TALLY OF NEW FEDERAL SPENDING AUTHORIZED BY HOUSE DEMOCRATS THIS YEAR" link at the bottom right.  Isn't that campaigning with government resources?  These guys, especially Blunt, need to go.  Without a 2/3 majority *both* sides passed that.  Maybe the Congresscritters need remedial civics courses.

My America includes LGBT families.

I'm Glad About Iraq Being Discussed Here
Iraq is as important to LBGTs as to everyone else, and the more it's talked about, the better.  I have called, in past weeks, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha.  I urge everyone to call their offices and tell them what you think of their cowardice when dealing with a clown who couldn't find Iraq on a map if you bet him a line of crack.

I could understand- not approve, but at least understand- if they were just following the focus groups and polls.  But in this case, the smoke signals all spell O - U - T of Iraq, Fast.  But it can't be any secret that Bush/Cheney want to stretch the war out until the Democrats get in in 2008 so it'll be their problem.  It's not surprising that the hundreds of thousands of displaced or killed Iraqis are meaningless to Bush/Cheney.  But what some people don't want to face up to is that the AMERICANS killed there, often just fresh-faced kids who never knew what the war was really about, is of absolutely no consequence to the neocons either.

=>The truth usually isn't pretty. Don't blame me for telling it.<=

Line of crack?
I like the idea, but you meant "line of coke".  Crack doesn't line up well (it's like a bunch of pebbles).

Chalk that up to drug ignorance, which, of course, is not a bad thing.  Reminds me of when my little brother (then aged 14) asked me if I ever snorted any marijuana.  I told him I'd tried, but the buds kept getting stuck in my nostrils.

Even Worse
There is a major story today about an even further escalation of troops by the end of this year:

Bush could double force by Christmas

Stewart M. Powell, Hearst Newspapers

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

(05-22) 04:00 PDT Washington -- The Bush administration is quietly on track to nearly double the number of combat troops in Iraq this year, an analysis of Pentagon deployment orders showed Monday.

The little-noticed second surge, designed to reinforce U.S. troops in Iraq, is being executed by sending more combat brigades and extending tours of duty for troops already there.

The actions could boost the number of combat soldiers from 52,500 in early January to as many as 98,000 by the end of this year if the Pentagon overlaps arriving and departing combat brigades.

Separately, when additional support troops are included in this second troop increase, the total number of U.S. troops in Iraq could increase from 162,000 now to more than 200,000 -- a record-high number -- by the end of the year.

http://www.sfgate.co...

How do the democrats think they are going to stop this war without simply withholding funds?  NO MORE MONEY.  If it is the only way to get this obstinate asshole (bush) to stop killing for nothing then that is what they have to do.

Why is this happening?  What is the goal?  How do we know when we have accomplished some kind of victory?  Why were we lead to invade Iraq and what keeps us there years and years  later?

We got rid of their leader - deposed and killed him.

What the hell do we want?

I'm beginning to feel why bother with voting
I wonder, am I the only one who feels burnt out trying to get Dems elected to office. They talk big when running but once elected hardly anyone has a spine stong enough to stand by their promise. Bush only has a 28% of the people who thinks he is wonderful. I have been in elected office and trust me I stood by what I said I would do, no big deal. If you say you will do something like not funding the WAR, then just do it. Why the hell is that so hard for the Dems. Maybe I might feel better later, but right now I am soooo sick and tired of the games that are being played with our lives.

No, you're not the only one
And I don't know what to do about it, either, aside from having everyone vote third party, which won't happen either.

Democrats and War
What makes anyone think the Democrats want to end the war?

1. The war is immensely profitable to a certain number of people. Those people give money to Democrats, and Democrats like money.

2. Some of the Democrats are among those certain people who profit directly from the war. And, again, Democrats like money.

3. The Israel government would like permanent chaos in the Middle East. Most Democrats would have a hard time getting re-elected if they act in a way the Israeli government (and, therefore, AIPAC) finds distasteful. If you don't believe me, just ask Cynthia McKinney.

4. Bill Clinton bombed Iraq for 8 years. JFK expanded the Vietnam War, and LBJ expanded it much more, justified by a Gulf of Tonkin incident as faked as George Bush's WMD. Where would one ever get the notion that Democrats don't care for war?

Democrats like money
so true when the guns, bullets, missiles, tanks, etc are being built in there district.  or a military base is in there districtic.

Unless the three Senators who missed the vote are hopefuls to be prez.  Look what states have militry building going on.

Not one politician that has had a base closed in the district or state made reelection.

But we would hope that when we support a canidate, they will stand by their promises.

Hillary and Obama missed the vote, as did MCain,  In my mind not a good move as it shows me they are weaker than I thought.  And I NEVER planned on a vove for McCain,
That wipes Oboma and Hillary of my list

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Democrats didn't win the election...
...the Republicans lost it because we are fighting a failing war. If the Democrats put an end to the war now, before the presidential election, what is there to make the Republicans lose?

Proud?
Hey Democrats!  Can't think of a reason to cut off funding??

Now you have the majority of both houses of Congress.  The longer you continue to allow funding for the war, this will become your legacy:

1 in 8 Iraqis dies before fifth birthday
In Baghdad's poorest area, hospital lacks basic supplies, staff

James Palmer, Chronicle Foreign Service

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

"The report also said inadequate prenatal care has caused more birth defects and deaths, and that Iraq faced a grave humanitarian crisis even before the latest war. But most physicians here agree the 4-year-old conflict has had an unmistakable impact.

Iraq's child-mortality crisis is distressingly visible in Sadr City, a sprawling and embattled Shiite slum of 2 million residents in east Baghdad, home to many of the country's poorest people.

Pediatricians at Ibn Al-Baladi (Pediatric Hospital) said leaking sewage and the lack of potable water has contributed to a startling increase in water-borne diseases, such as typhoid, which can place children at risk for circulatory failure, infections and possibly death if not properly treated.

Shortages of medicines, equipment and doctors have only made things worse, hospital officials said. The 34 pediatricians at Ibn Al-Baladi cope daily with hundreds of cases, often without antibiotics, intravenous drips, cardiopulmonary monitoring equipment, CT scans or MRI machines."

Look at what we started!  Look at what we continue to perpetuate!!  Watch us make more terrorists as we teach poor people all over the world to hate America.

And we are concerned about looking bad for not supporting our troops?

It's not important
to ANY politician for an obvious reason: Iraqis don't vote in US Congressional elections.

Make calls. Tell your friends to make calls.
If your Representative voted in favor of Congressman McGovern's redeployment bill--171 did--he or she should be voting AGAINST this travesty, which would continue the war indefinitely with no accountability.

Let's make sure that at least those 171 members vote no.  We don't yet have an anti-war majority, but we've got a sizable caucus.  Rally them and get them to stand firm.

...

In any case, no matter who your Rep. is, call and share your disappointment (and/or fury) that a majority of Congress still opposes the idea that George Bush is accountable to the American people.

Write too!
I've already written both of my Senators AND Speaker Nancy Pelosi on this issue. I'd write my Congresswoman, but she just died and we haven't had a new election yet.

This whole situation is freaking ridiculous. All this has done is strengthen the president. Now he knows he can get whatever he wants by just not budging.

I had a lot of hope when the majority changed in Congress that finally SOMEONE would tell the president NO. Apparently that hope was unfounded.

Write your Congress people! THEY work for US, remember?

I Called Russ Feingold's Office This Morning
And recently called Nancy Pelosi, John Murtha and Harry Reid.  Well, whatever it accomplishes, or doesn't, it's better than doing nothing.

The Democrats need to be sent a message
This war is O-V-E-R.

Even Wm F. Buckley, Jr. knew it OVER A YEAR AGO! http://www.nationalr...

The surge will not work, it is not working.
The al Maliki government is not working.

The democrats blinked, when they should have been phrasing it that BUSH, by vetoing a passed funding bill is cutting off funding for the troops.

Up to 2000 more American soldiers will die, thousands more maimed for life (and countless Iraqi civilians).

For What?

I'm pissed!

IMPEACH!

Five digits
Prediction:  We will not be out of Iraq until the number of dead American soldiers surpasses 10,000.  Please, please, please let me be wrong.

Mad At Congress? Take the Iraq Vote Pledge
I was so upset at Pelos and Reid yesterday that I sent them emails.  And called to express my MAJOR disappointment, too!

And I emailed them again today.

I feel the Democrats and Republican in elected offices in DC are one party:  the party of CASH.

They don't care. Well I for one resolve to do this and hope other joing me.

SIGN THE IRAQ VOTE PLEDGE

http://www.democrats...

"I pledge to vote against every Senator and Representative who approves funding to continue the disastrous Iraq War.
We have already given far too much of our blood and treasure - and killed far too many Iraqis - for a war based on lies. We are now occupying a hostile nation divided by civil war for the benefit of military contractors and Big Oil.

The only way to support our troops is to bring them home NOW, and no funds should be used for any other purpose. If Congress fails to bring our troops home, I will do everything I can - and urge everyone I know - to defeat pro-war Senators and Representatives, both in my party's primary elections and in the November general election."

HILLARY and other Dinos & Democrats Lite:  Can you hear me now?
