Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

House passes amendment striking funds for DC domestic partner registry

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Jun 28, 2007 at 20:45:00 PM EDT

Just dropping this bit of hateful business in before I get started on the forum liveblogging. The House passed bigot Virgil Goode's (R-VA) amendment to the DC appropriations bill (224 - 200), ensuring that Bush will sign it since he threatened a veto if the domestic partner registry funding remained in the bill.

Heath Shuler, a NC Democrat elected in a district that includes very gay Asheville, and a beneficiary of a lot of Blue dollars to win his seat, sided with the bigots. He also voted against hate crimes legislation. That will be remembered.

I'm not surprised my Rep. voted no,
but I was really sorry to see that Artur Davis did the same.  He should be ashamed of himself, but it seems he's terrified of looking pro-gay.

The Virgil Goode Position
"bigot Virgil Goode's (R-VA) amendment to the DC appropriations bill"

Someone needs to put 'The Virgil Goode Position' up as a term on Conservapedia.  (The definition, according to Jon Stewart, is 'masturbating while one's head is up one's own ass.')

This is another example of HRC's powerlessness
Isn't HRC the federal LGBT political org? If they have  a budget of $40 million how could they not stop an anti-gay rider passing in a Democratically-controlled Congress??

And will the HRC really be able to get a trans-inclusive hate crimes bill and trans-inclusive ENDA through this same House of Representatives and Senate to the President's desk for a veto?

This about Democratic Cowardice
The passage of this amendment is about many things including the prevailing disregard for LGBT people, the lack of voting rights and self-determination for the District of Columbia and the cowardice of the Democratic Party on LGBT civil rights. 40 Democrats voted against us and with the majority of Republicans to pass this amendment.

For all practical purposes, it doesn't do much. D.C. doesn't spend federal dollars to run its domestic partnership program anyway. Its simply a gratuitous attack of gay families and the Democrats in the House did not have our backs.

More than likely the amendment will be stripped out of the bill in conference committee. Our at least I am hoping so. Its all the more reason that we all need to be calling, writing and meeting with our members of Congress. We can't rely on HRC, NGLTF and other organizations to do it for us. We have to join them in the fight and push like hell for equal treatment under the law.

Norton
I can't believe that DC Delegate Norton has the nerve to march in the Pride parade, and then a week later vote for this!  Outrageous!

I just lost so much respect for her.
What did she have to lose by voting for us?
