Whipkey?!  An unfortunate name!

In a way I feel sorry for the guy.  Provided he isn't found to be a predator, it is a shame that our society is so afraid of the human body that a person can get arrested for jogging nipples to the wind.  On the other hand, the guy works for the company that revels in shame over the body.  So in a way, his arrest has a perfect symmetry to it.

Nudity as a sex offense

It is also a shame that simple nudity can make one a registered sex offender. Sex offender registries should be reserved for those who have actually hurt someone and not for just offending someone's eyeballs or sense of "decency". Otherwise it devalues what the registry is meant to be for, which is to warn people about dangerous predators.

pecans!

since this is an open thread, i'd like everyone to know that i'm eating a bowl of cereal sprinkled with the buttery halves of pecans.  they're the store-bought kind.  a friend in alabama has been sending us a box every xmas of the real thing - picked from trees on her farm.  o. m. g. they are incredible.  but until the next box arrives, these off-the-shelf ones should keep me from getting the pecanzie shakes.

I sat here baffled,
waiting to comment upon the sexually obsessed Rev
Fred Phelps - scanned the comments hastily in a failed speed-read
(Evelyn Wood not be proud) to catch something about "nipples in the wind."

I am a little disappointed. For a brief bemused second I thought perhaps the Phelpses were arrested for "indecency" at the collapsed bridge they were threatening & advertising to protest! LOL

Sorry about the non sequitor - I just found it too hilarious NOT to comment.

Hmmm, Fred's not gay, is he?

I guess I should have inquired before registering - and since this is an open thread, might as well do it here...

I jumped into registering after a friend referred me here to read. And in my haste to OPINE as Billy O might say, I was "lead astray" somewhere out past the swimming buoys.

I suppose I should not have equated Fred - of Thompson fame, with the rabid preacher from Kansas. But the picture is of Cheney...?

Do I have to be gay to comment here? Hope not.
You folks seem to be having just too much witty fun...

Not really sure if its a requirement, whether you're checking green cards at the door.

I see that rollicking Rev Billy posts here, or about here.
That leads me to wonder several different ways from Sunday about his orientation - and whether his anxiety has to do with some childhood trauma about said orientation.

So many of the adamant right wing crowd battle with personal demons & denials. He doth protest too much.

I am SO confused. Is the Rev gay, is the jury out or can non-gays join the blog too?
Please advise.
