Tactic?

Do you think that this is being aimed toward public schools in the hope that someone complains and that they can get some free publicity on Fox?  Something along the lines of those godless atheists and the liberals who love them are persecuting the poor, helpless, loving christians who are only trying to help other people? 

My America includes LGBT families.

We could ask for copies of those Bibles

And then send them to the preachers and right wing politicians when they get busted sticking the member into folks that they shouldn't.  We better stock up on a bunch of those books though.

Don't expect truth or tolerance

Based on the lies being spread by the AFA concerning the Hate Crimes legislation one should expect a cesspool of disinformation contained within the pages of these "Absolute Truths".  I hope someone documents all the extraneous material and provide counter measures in order to show everyone the depths to which the religious reich reaches in their recruitment efforts.   

I would rather be hated for whom I love; than loved for whom I hate.

  So it is ok for them.  As sickening as those so-called comics are, I think it will have a reverse reaction then they hope for.

Hmmm...

I may be a bit behind in my bible reading (I only really use it as a reference work when appearing in one of those biblical epics that were so popular a few years ago) but I fail to recall any comments on secular rock music anywhere in it.  The authors must have been awfully prescient to be able to correctly divine musical tastes millenia in the future.  Perhaps they consulted Nostradamus.

Butchya Gotta Understand...

... in the "mind" of the religious-right them doing the very same thing that any other cult or political group might do, is different and not the same thing... they are teaching "the truth" and have "god" on their side... which explains it all.

That's why they can get away with locking teenage kids inside a building (which is against fire codes last I checked) for a full night of dancing, junk food and brain washing celebrating life and love (stop laughing, it's true!)  Then again, I've never understood how, when they do it it's ok and no harm is seen but let some New Age or local Pagan group get together (and may the gods forbid that it's a gay or lesbian group) and all sorts of hell breaks loose along with the picket signs, angry mobs gathering, scriptures being used as suppositories, etc. 

It's the classic All American Double Standard.

As I've said elsewhere... it's time to start seriously exposing the dirty laundry of these people, the organizations and ALL of their members... especially those loving Christian parents that belong to such groups and toss their kids out onto the streets in the name of love... just because they happen to be gay kids.

... and people wonder why I so loathe all forms of organized religion...

it's time, all right

and it's also time for responsible, charitable, loving servants of god to denounce these frauds for the hateful bullies that they are.  i get pissed off with even the non-offensive religions for not doing more to stop the spread of religious zealotry in this country, to call a halt to our theocratic leanings.  i'm getting really impatient.  their freedom to practice in this country is everyone else's freedom to practice (or not practice) in this country.  fair-minded people understand this simple concept.  the american taliban doesn't.  just how many more catholic justices do we need handing down the edicts of the (extremely corrupt) vatican to non-catholics before people start to care more?  how many more people and kids are they going to brainwash in the name of fear and acceptance?
