Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

GOP Senator eruption over Craig: Coleman, McCain call for him to resign

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Aug 29, 2007 at 17:45:00 PM EDT

They know this is spinning out of control. (Think Progress):
Sens. Norm Coleman (R-MN) and John McCain (R-AZ) have become the first members of the Senate to call for Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) to resign over his arrest for alleged "lewd conduct" in an airport bathroom.

...In an interview with CNN's John King this afternoon, McCain said he thinks Craig "should resign":

MCCAIN: ..."But my opinion is that when you plead guilty to a crime, then you shouldn't serve. And that's not a moral stand. That's not a holier than thou. It's just a factual situation. I don't try to judge people. but in this case, it's clear that it was disgraceful."
Craig has also stepped down from two committees as well as his post on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.

It's going to be lights out soon, Larry.

You have to wonder what Craig is thinking right now as all these fundies and Republicans turn on him. He certainly has to notice that Diaper David Vitter didn't experience calls from folks on the Hill to vacate. Could it be about that whole GAY thing, Larry?

Matt Foreman at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force noticed the unequal treatment of the two scandals as well.

No such call was sounded by Senate GOP leaders following the scandal involving Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), who last month admitted to "a very serious sin in my past" after his telephone number appeared among those associated with a female escort service operated by the so-called "D.C. Madam."  Vitter even reportedly received "thunderous applause" from Senate GOP colleagues during a policy lunch held a few days after his admission.
There's more at Roll Call.

Maybe about the gay thing, probably about power

The governor of Idaho is a Republican. If Craig steps down, the seat stays in GOP hands, as a Republican will be appointed to replace him.

The governor of Louisiana is, IIRC, a Democrat. So if Vitter steps down and the governor appoints someone to fill the remainder of the term, it'll probably be a pickup of a seat for the Democrats.

There really is a principle involved here, you see--the principle of hanging on to power by any means necessary. Craig is expendable, so he can be tossed under the bus. Vitter, not so much.

Yes, the "gay thing" has probably added to the outrage among the electorate. But the professional political class is making a political calculation.

That's certainly part of it
but I noticed McCain played the weasely "Craig was convicted" card, which is also another distinction between Vitter and Craig. Vitter had the good sense to fuck around in his own back yard (at least at first) where the cops were friendlier.

Incertus

one other factor, IMHO

would be one that I heard during Russ's temporary radio host job today...Craig did not let the powers that be in the GOP know about his arrest...they were blindsided by the news.  That's gotta piss them off.

It wouldn't surprise me that Vitter came running to the powers as soon as he knew something was coming out to ask for help with spin control.

100% correct

This is 100% correct regardless of the fact that it is also yet again another example of the right wing neo-fascist Christianist's hypocrisy.  Vitter paid a prostitute for the joys of sex in diapers. Hetero sex that is.

Craig solicited another man in a mens room for sex and pleaded guilty to it! (Gay sex).

Vitter....no problem...receive a pass and go straight to redemption.

Craig, .......oh big problem....receive no pass and go straight to retirement and your Brokeback Mountain Cabin in Idaho.....

Speaking of Mike Rogers...
Has anyone been able to get onto BlogActive or PageOneQ today?  Has the GOP gone after him electronically?

same problem
I haven't been able to get to Blogactive or PageOneQ either

[ Parent ]
Ditto
I've been unable to get onto those two sites since yesterday.

[ Parent ]
same for me...last two days

[ Parent ]
just went to BlogActive

its up again.

They are saying major server melt-down (due to Larry Craig trafic)

Was getting a little worried there

[ Parent ]
Looks like he's back
just after midnite EDT, looks like it's up and running.

[ Parent ]
It was a misdemeanor
Craig pled guilty to a misdemeanor. Does McCain think every Senator who commits a misdemeanor should resign?

Norm Coleman is weighing in on this...so...

the GOP is unleashing Bush's lapdog on him...just write him off as toast, very dark, burned toast.

I find irony is HILARIOUS...

...now that all these Republicans are telling Craig to TAKE IT UP THE ASS for the party!

 H@@@@@@@@@@@@

blessings
Well, he may not have lucked up in the restroom, but he ultimately got what he wanted, 'cause he's screwed now!!!

Bernadette said it best

Bernadette, from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, I think said it best: "There, now you're f**ked!"

Listen to the tranny, Larry.

Does McCain think Bush should resign?
McCain: "when you plead guilty to a crime, then you shouldn't serve."  So, does McCain think Bush shouldn't serve since he also has been convicted of a misdemeanor DUI?

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drunky McPukeshoes Tom DeLay was just on MSNBC claiming that its the Democrats who have the problem with corruption and lack of morality among members of congress.

He whined the right-wing whine about the houses of congress having the ability to expel members who do wrong.  As you might imagine, he intoned Gerry Studds and William Jefferson as examples of Dems who were not expelled but rather reelected - yet, when asked about Larry Craig, he said there should be no rush to judgment.

Much to my surprise, Contessa Brewer did a decent job of calling him on the carpet for his lies detachment from reality - but, of course, he just blwew by her repeatedly pointing out that Craig has pled guilty.
