Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Breaking: Larry Craig may not resign

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Sep 04, 2007 at 21:00:00 PM EDT

Hooboy, does he really want to be investigated? Mitch McConnell, who threatened to investigate Craig, may have to pull the trigger anyway. What will he say now?
Sen. Larry Craig is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Tuesday evening.

"It's not such a foregone conclusion anymore, that the only thing he could do was resign," said Sidney Smith, Craig's spokesman in Idaho's capital.

"We're still preparing as if Sen. Craig will resign Sept. 30, but the outcome of the legal case in Minnesota and the ethics investigation will have an impact on whether we're able to stay in the fight -- and stay in the Senate."

9PM: Mike Rogers is on Hannity and Colmes discussing this right now.

As I said earlier, the GOP is now forced to make a choice -- defend its witchhunt as conditional upon whether someone is convicted of (or pleads guilty to) a tawdry misdemeanor, or affirm that same-sex behavior is fine as long as you don't get caught.

hooray!
This is exactly what we need, the GOP's dirty laundry out in public day after day.

"In order to maintain an untenable position, you have to be actively ignorant."  The Colbert Report

hee hee!
i was just thinking that i'd heard more than enough about that moron, but you make a great point.  let the stench of dirty repub laundry waft through the land!

Yes, let the fun begin,
The Values crowd is going to come unglued. We are going to hear them screamng, hopefully loud enough to keep Vitter a household name as well.

Can you picture, Craig fights the charge and win?

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

[ Parent ]
Drip...drip...drip...drip...
I can't see any way for the Repubs. (except possibly Craig, and then only his seat until the next election) to win here.

Such a shame............  :)

I do love the puns in your post

seat  and then the drip drip drip

So suppose Craig isn't in deep denial, and knows he's gay,

and knows which US senators are gay.  He could do a nice job of blackmailing the senate leadership; all he would need to do is threaten to name names on the floor of the senate
(legislatures cannot be prosecuted for slander on the floor of the senate).

But my guess is that Craig really is in denial, or else, he's so isolated as a gay man (or bi/married MSM or whatever he is) that he only way he knows how to obtain same-sex sexual gratification is in public restrooms.  No on-line dating or late nights in the bars for him.  So he probably doesn't know who's a 'member of the club.'  If this is true, he may have decided he can at least finish his term, that his enemies don't have proof he's gay (beyond the Minnesota case), and he can tough things out legally.  No fun for the Republicans.  Not necessarily good for gay people either -- I don't think it's so swell if the message of this saga is that 'gay' means furtive, shameful behavior.

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

message of this saga
the message of this saga is, of course, that a homophobic society pressures people into doing sad and pathetic things like living a lie.  we all need to be sure that this message is heard loud and clear.

It's my tinfoil hat paranoia acting up again...

I've been wondering about blackmail myself...something inside me thinks that as long as closeted gay Republicans "vote the right way" they are relatively safe in pursuing their sexuality.

Should there be a problem, well, there could be problems.  If one is caught, all bets are off, and the jackal pack will turn on  you...

In fact, a smart Karl Rove type fellow in the RNC might want a small closetful of homosexual Senators and Representatives...they are guaranteed fodder for blackmail.

Hate stops a beating heart.

What about Vitter and Stevens?
The incongruent treatment gives Craig a taste of what it feels like to be a member of the LGBT community in America.
This could be his coming to Damascus moment.  Will he acknowledge the injustices directed at us and change his hostile voting pattern? Unfortunately I doubt it.

I would rather be hated for whom I love; than loved for whom I hate.

thinking

As I have said, I bet he truly believes he isn't gay. These people are so adept at doublethink, it enters every area of their lives. To have an ongoing, loving, monogamous relationship with a member of the same sex-- that's gay, and it is wrong. A crime against nature. To have totally meaningless and dangerous sex in public toilets with complete strangers-- well, that's not gay. It's a bit like alcoholism I guess. Once in a while you just can't help yourself. It's an unfortunate idiosyncracy, but nothing to get alarmed about since at the end of the day you go home to your wife.

CARING RELATIONSHIP = bad

PATHETIC, DEGRADING, NASTY TOILET SEX = not a problem

Like many GOOPers, he's authoritarian*

How can all this stuff be going on in Craig's head?  The GOOP attracts authoritarian followers, and this is how they function:

"A high [right-wing authoritarian] can have all sorts of illogical, self-contradictory and widely refuted ideas rattling around in various boxes in his brain, and never notice it. . . .

Research reveals that authoritarian followers drive through life under the influence of impaired thinking a lot more than most people do, exhibiting sloppy reasoning, highly compartmentalized beliefs, double standards, hypocrisy, self-blindness, a profound ethnocentrism, and -- to top it all off -- a ferocious dogmatism that makes it unlikely anyone could ever change their minds with evidence or logic."

This is from Bob Altymeyer's study of Authorittarian psychology via Glenn Greenwald's column: http://www.salon.com...

Yep.
Well done, drsivana99.

As quoted above--

--you can't lead the kind of bizarre double life Craig has without

"highly compartmentalized beliefs, double standards, hypocrisy, self-blindness"

It goes deeper than addiction and denial and even shame.

Could this be a ruse put together by the GOP?
I mean the timing of the news was in the evening.  Could it be he is suggesting he is going to stand and fight, so the rest of the GOP can stand up and tell him to go, and go now.  To show that the GOP still has Values to the Values crowd?  was just a thought, we will see tomorrow.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

his vote
i think they want to retain him for his vote now that time johnson is back in the senate after 9 month of illness.  johnson is a democrat.  loss of craig and addition of johnson = an almost guaranteed 2 vote lead for the dems on any issue.

H & C, Hannity can't get over Clinton' BJ
Clinton was impeached for lying, end of story.  But keep bringing up that issue Sean, beat that dead horse as long as you like.  Bill Clinton didn't run on a platform of Family Values like you right wingers do.

But the best part, and Mike hits it home, the GOP is the group pushing Craig to resign.

I think Sean, Rush, and the rest, know there is more to come.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Heh Heh, Heh Ho, Larry Craig back to your Stall in Idaho!

Onward Christian Soldiers!

Craig is going head to head (or perhaps toe-to-toe!) with the Republicans on the ethics committee.  He's a-gonna fight:

some thoughts

Pam, maybe you have already discussed and I missed it, if so, sorry.

I suggested on my blog that we should be more irked that gays are being targeted in Minn. (povertybarn.com)

Yes, I am sure that his fellow intolerants will find a way to yank him since he can be replaced by another repub.
