Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Saddam to be hanged within 48 hours

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Dec 28, 2006 at 19:00:00 PM EST

Breaking news from NBC:
Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, sentenced to death for his role in 148 killings in 1982, will have his sentence carried out by Sunday, NBC News reported Thursday. According to a U.S. military officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, Saddam will be hanged before the start of the Eid religious holiday, which begins this Sunday.

...An official close to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has said that Saddam would remain in a U.S. military prison until he is handed over to Iraqi authorities on the day of his execution. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to address the media.

It's been reported that the event will be videotaped, but not necessarily broadcast to the public. (CBS):
"We will video everything," National Security adviser Mouffak al Rubaie said. "All documentation will be videoed. Taking him from cell to the execution is going to be videoed, and the actual execution will be documented and videoed."

...Rubaie said the date of the deposed dictator's execution will not be made public, to avoid possible unrest from Saddam's supporters.

Two questions:
1) how long before regional violence escalates after the former Iraqi dictator swings from the rope?
2) how long before that video of Saddam's execution hits the internet?

The first thing that popped into my mind was "YouTube."

This will be a fine Happy New Year's gift to the troops when the shit hits the fan.

Trackback
Just posted on this at http://www.themodera... and quoted your 2 questions with a trackback.

Man, this makes me sad.
It's more murder in my name (I'm an American.) and with my tax dollars.

And it's brought to you by the party that touts its alleged "culture of life."

...but by the former TX governor with
one of the most gruesome execution records in tx history

The Answer
Two minutes.  For both questions.

If you don't think things are fun enough in Iraquagmire yet, wait until this excrement makes forceful airborne contact with the rotary oscillating air-moving device.

As far as moments go, you could call it the Iraquagmire version of Tet.

"If people let government decide which foods they eat and medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny." -- Thomas Jefferson

The issues
in Iraq are a bit larger than Saddam, methinks.  The Shiite death squads causing much of the agony over there won't shed any  tears when Saddam dies, I don't think? Nor Iran, which is Shia as well, and hated Saddam?

I don't want to get into the issue of capital punishment as a debate here (in any event, the strongest anti-death-penalty fiber of my being can't summon any outrage over this man's execution), but the Sunnis are raising hell already, and although Saddam's death will be symbolic, the country is Bush-screwed sufficiently that I don't think this will tip it significantly.

Safer
I feel so much safer now.

The approximately 650,000 dead Iraqis do, too.

perhaps the real Saddam will feel safer too
since I understand he has/had multiple look-alike doubles.  how are we to know that the person executed will even be the real Saddam?

DNA testing.
We've had enough of his relatives in custody over the past few years to positively ID him.

It should air on Network TV
Why not?

America would love it.  It should be shown on all networks at 8pm.

I can see the good xtian Amurican knuckle draggers rounding up the kiddies to watch his body twitch (it takes up to 15 minutes to die by hanging).

Mr and Mrs Amurica will have a big bucket of KFC between their fat thighs and scream out a few juicy, chiquen laden yelps of "HALELLUJAH!!"

It would be a ratings blockbuster.

Hosted by Regis Philbin.

Brought to you by Nabisco.

Downloadable for your i-Pod.

Can be viewed on your cell phone.

America the beautiful.

The internet has failed us.
I wanted a live count down and merchendising tie-in campaign. A hot new Reality-TV show would have been nice too. :-(

Right on Chaotic Nipple
Time Magazine said in its 2006 Person of the Year issue:  "..the World Wide Web became a tool for bringing together the small contributions of millions of people and making them matter."

Actually, what we get are blogs to compile complaints and clever snarky remarks and opportunities to disseminate warped, deluded, and incorrect information to more people at one sitting than ever before.

This is supposed to ehance our democracy, but I'm afraid it serves to supplant it.

sick
How sick of a nation have we become?  "Hey everybody, we are having a new years eve party complete with live hanging to kick of '07"

Timing sucks!
At least wait until after the hajj! That ends in a few days. Not that Saddam himself was religious or deserved any consideration, but why wave a red flag in front of the Muslim world unnecessarily?

safer?
Are we going to be safer as a nation with him swinging from a rope?

Do I make you proud, daddy?
Dubya must feel like God now. Not that I'm A Saddam supporter, but capitol punishment is killing regardless. Easy way out, imo.

Victory!
Since it seems that humiliating and killing Saddam (for trying to kill Poppy Bush) was the real reason for invading Iraq, perhaps W will now declare victory and withdraw our troops!

Executing Saddam is a bad idea.  If I-- no fan of Saddam-- think it lacks legitimacy, then what are those who really believe in him going to think?

Plus, South Park the Movie will never be as funny as it was.
