    My name is ???, I am a gay male, 23 from the state of Gerogia and I would personally like to extend you my deepest and sincerest gratitude for supporting  marriage for same-sex couples. It is people like you sir, that are needed to help society progress for the better of everyone. You have not just touched the gay community within San Diego and California, but to gay people all over our nation. I cried with you Mr. Mayor as I saw you making your announcement and will share my tears for any political leader whether they are from my state or not that stand up for equality and justice for everyone. Please be strong, and knwo that you have more support then you may think.

As a SD resident I am both sadenned yet unmoved. God makes my laws and no man can overturn those laws by proclamation,vote nor tort.

There is no doubt a father loves a daughter. There is also no doubt he wants his daughter to have a joyful life. Yet what is wrong with disagreeing with the sin and loving the sinner as Jesus did. Here he is loving the sin and the sinner and supporting the sin as law because a loved one is a sinner.

just leave me feeling so sad and disillusioned. I know they aren't a majority, but damn......to be able to be that deluded in the 21st Century in a country that claims to be a world leader. It's just so very pathetic that people still labor under these silly superstitions, and wreck the lives of others while they are doing it.

One point: they obsess about this one particular "sin", all the while giving a free pass to every other "sin" in their beloved holy book. Sins like dishonoring one's parents (punishable by death), sex before marriage (if one happens to be female, also punishable by death), or so much as lighting a lamp on the Sabbath seem to be ignored in their world. Why does only this one sin bother them so severely? Why the inconsistent enforcement, if these sins are all so real and so frightening? Let's not forget the sins of eating shellfish or wearing clothing of mixed fibers. These are also abominations in the eyes of their "lord", according to their holy book. I could go on, but you get the point. They obsess about this because they labor under the illusion that it is OK for them to meddle in the lives of others--particularly if they think we might actually be having sex....GASP.

Second point: I am still waiting for even one of these nuts to provide some real evidence as to the actual existence of this "sin" with which they are so incensed and obsessed. I submit that they and their predecessors made the whole thing up, and are just using the entire concept to oppress people. I would like to see even one of them provide evidence to the contrary.
