The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

S-CHIP veto: why does Dear Leader hate America's children?

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Oct 03, 2007 at 11:30:00 AM EDT

Bush vetoes child health insurance plan. I can't wait for the GOP to try to run for re-election on this bit of business - their  president vetoed a bill to expand the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which covers families that cannot qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford the spiraling cost of private coverage. Bush even tried to hide from the press when he whipped out his veto pen.
President Bush, in a confrontation with Congress, on Wednesday vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have dramatically expanded children's health insurance. It was only the fourth veto of Bush's presidency, and one that some Republicans feared could carry steep risks for their party in next year's elections. The Senate approved the bill with enough votes to override the veto, but the margin in the House fell short of the required number.

The White House sought as little attention as possible, with the president wielding his veto behind closed doors without any fanfare or news coverage...In the case of the health insurance program, the veto is a bit of a high-stakes gambit for Bush, pitting him against both the Democrats who have controlled both houses of Congress since January, but also many members of his own party and the public.
He cited that the program simply costs too much money. That's rich coming from a man who's lifting cash out of our wallets like there's no tomorrow to continue his military misadventures abroad.

hate to break it to you

This administration, forgot to budget the war early in the game into the general accounting. And at the same time, allowed many millions of illegal aliens to take advantage of every kind of public service at the expense of citizens and other services. I don't know what's happening in NC.

But another five vital hospitals are closing in Los Angeles, and so much money for education, law enforcement and medical infrastucture has been mismanaged, the city council is now trying an illegal maneuver with telephone taxes. Most of the reason why our city and state government is getting away with more and more outrages...is because of the millions of people who come here to live, and couldn't care less about, who are ineligible or know how to invest in the local government more people are dependent on everyday.

I am the extemely rare Los Angeles native. I never meet another one on a day to day basis. A good many residents here just landed within the last year. And those who came from another country illegally, have less respect for assimilating and too much dependency on a system that can't afford them. Because the rest of the country let a lot of people get away with having children they couldn't afford with the welfare state, now the load is too heavy and we can't carry it for those who use their children to guilt the rest of the nation into accepting what they had control over....having a child one can afford to feed and clothe, educate and insure...without the government doing it.

Los Angeles and the soon the entire state...is a disaster because of this lack of consideration for taxpayers (politicians, corporations and the poor), as this state goes, so will the nation.

The worst thing that could happen was to attack and take the strength out of the middle class.

I love children. Enough to never have one that I knew I couldn't care for. Why wouldn't their own parents consider that? And why wouldn't they consider that the nation, or it's leaders, after a while-wouldn't or couldn't either?

That's right!
Those goddamn immigrants, having the nerve to bring their kids with them when the sneak over the border to work for wages that no one else would tolerate! They should be grateful to come over here and maintain our gardens and clean our houses and pick our vegetables in 100+ degree Central Valley heat--we don't owe them anything!

[ Parent ]
not immigrants

I didn't say immigrants, I said illegal aliens. And yes, how dare they bring their kids, or drop an anchor one against the legal structures we have in place? They make fools of those who apply legally and do what's necessary to be a legal citizen and not CHEAT.  They should be grateful that this country isn't running them out on a rail immediately when they can't show legal residence here.

Not all are doing the labor you described, and if they are uneducated people-they can expect no more. But there is the inconvenient truth that YOU don't KNOW what they are doing, when you don't know who they are or where they are.

And the execution style murders of those students in New Jersey was the tip of the iceberg when it comes to illegal aliens who are not identitified and whose backgrounds and activity here is unaccounted for. You don't like my comment, too bad.

Don't hate the messenger, that's how life is. And evidently, our government thinks more of accomodating illegal aliens, post 9/11. And when so many soldiers are losing their lives and physical safety for a country making fools of them and a joke of the 9/11 losses with an insecure country with such bold illegal aliens..than it does of the hardworking AMERICAN gays and lesbians who pay taxes, adopt unwanted children and who are fighting to NOT be dependent on government and who are voters and contributors in ways not appreciated.

Are you a member of any labor union? They are getting busted and members undercut from such an influx of people, and the outsourcing of jobs. We're fucked every way from Sunday. And the accomodation of illegal aliens, and importing more of the problems we already have like gangs and drug and sex trafficking is inexcusable.

I'm not living in Dreamland with you, of the noble immigrant-and I won't apologize for it. Nor do I appreciate you changing the words I spoke. This is illegal activity that isn't justified. Not at all.

[ Parent ]
corporate welfare, even worse

Our state literally got reamed by corporate greed to the tune of 4 billion in the hole. And the outrageous idea of bailing out homeowners in over their head is beyond stupid.

Generosity has only bred contempt, and more dependency hasn't it? And so little to show for the expense.

When something doesn't work...why continue doing it?

The debate was interesting.
The congresscritters all got up and talked about people in their district who were struggling to take care of their kids with the rising cost of everything, especially health care.  A few hard core goopers made sure that they used the phrases "socialist" and "government run health care" (are they down to the point where they feel that even in the Capitol building they have to speak to the Fox news crew?) but I was wondering if those same parents who were working so hard and didn't get benefits got sick, lost their houses, etc, would it really matter if the kids had health insurance or not?  I guess that being a conservative means that you have to always repeat the same inane arguments or have to believe them all the time.

My America includes LGBT families.

Why should he change now?
Just more of the same.  He's done his best to wreck children's minds (NCLB), now he wants to prevent the care of their bodies.  Is anyone surprised really suprised?

Doesn't affect his kids...

...so why should he care.  Besides, he needs money to keep his war machine going.  Screw poor kids!  If they want health insurance, they can wait until their 18 and join his war machine like all good patriotic kids.  What a BASTARD!!

Not enough money?
Losen some cash up shrub, Tax religious orginizations.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

insert witty comment here....
i'm honestly running out of things to say as far as this administration goes.

according to dear leader, our "childrens do learn" - but if they are our future & their families can not afford the extravagant costs of healthcare in this country - our future is looking kinda bleak, isn't it?

so if it's important, you make the time - crunch & find the money.  allocate it from some stupid bull sh*t program and shuffle the deck.  how hard is it?  apparently too hard i guess.......

Charley sez ---- Bat sh*t crazies amuse me!

He doesn't hate all of America's children...
Just the ones who don't have rich parents and can't afford health insurance.

And help fund GOP election campaigns

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

stupidity and miserlines breed contempt.

Generosity has bred contempt and more dependance?  Not in my life, I am a single mother living above the poverty line (which was created in the 60's and only adjusted for direct inflation, it makes a lousy indicator but that's a whoel other post).  I am reasonably educated and work my ass off in a white collar job but can barely pay for child care and I am facing a 4 month gap in health insurance in the near future- it does not make me more deopendant to get a little bit of help- as this program is designed to do, cover the gap on kids that are in families making too much to qualify for medicaid but not enough to keep thier heads above water.

I live in a very perilous situation.  Sure today I can put food on the table, keep the utilities on, own a car, keep the roof over our heads (rented by the way) but I am one terrible event away from having nothing- one bad accident, one serious hit for medical payments, one major catastrophe away from my son and I being out on the steet.

I am the many people that work hard and do better than some but I fall between the cracks where just a little bit of help now to for example pay for day care, just a small scholarship or discount, would mean the world and when my situation improves, as I get promoted and get raises I will pay more taxes.  Mysituation will change and the kiddo won't need day care anymore, I won't still need help forever, but a little assistance for the working poor, now could make the difference between staying mostly self sufficient and needing more services down the road.

Listen to God's Rules

Listen, you’all. You just don’t seem to understand the God-ordained rules of a free market economy.

Once upon a time, the United States had slavery. But then the smartest of us rich folks came to a realization: Slaves are property and are an investment. Just as we take care of our automobiles today, the owner of a slave has a vested interest in maintaining his property in good health. And you know what? That’s expensive.

The much smarter way is this: We hire a worker at a wage enough for her to sustain herself. When she develops health problems or gets slow with age, we just let her go. So much neater and cleaner! And so much more economical!

Now government-sponsored health insurance, what sense does that make? All that is is robbing me of my hard-earned money to help the folks who work in my factory and in my fields. But what need is there for that? I don’t own them anymore. When they outlive their usefulness, there’s always another to take her place. (Mexico assures us of that.) So why should I vote to rob myself?

It’s like this: God helps those who help themselves. God wants me to be prosperous. God gave me the workers in my factory so I can better perform His works. Anything else is simply atheism.

Clinging to the Wreckage

He's making a last ditch attempt to act like a Reagan Republican, when he has no credibility as such on either side of the aisle.  This was to be paid for by a tobacco tax which would have been disproportionatey heavy on the poor, but Bush's tax cuts have never been geared to the poor.  Bush has nothing but his sense of misguided righteousness and bad advice.  He is incurious and a lazy thinker who has to have policy digested for him as if he were a chick in the nest, eating others' regurgitated simplicities.  Perhaps what little is left of the neocon cabal thought this might be a good idea thinking, in their usual contempt for the citizenry, no one would remember that with No Child Left Behind, most children got left behind.

Rove left for a very good reason.  He saw that there was nothing more could be done with the ventriloquist's dummy, and so got out before the roof caved in.  It's caving in now, and yet they're talking about wacking Iran, as if our foreign policy can still afford to be based upon who we can wack to get what we want.  We wasted so profoundly serious a constitutional tool as impeachment on a President over a blow job, and now bleat like the righteous prigs that we are over what our congressmen do in toilets.

No one takes America seriously anymore, because we don't take our country and its principles seriously anymore.  We test our candidates' moral and theological credibility without considering if they are fit for purpose.  We don't test their intelligence, their integrity to their message, we don't even test their message, or whether it is addressed to the good of the nation, or those that fill their coffers.  We have one candidate who speaks of what America gave to him and what he wants to give to America, and we call him naive.

This past month, thousands of poor monks with no more protection that their ox-blood robes and upturned begging bowls, willingly faced the armed might of the Burmese military and brought thousands on to the streets of Rangoon, in peaceful protest of a government they thought was detrimental to the national interest.  That is patriotism.

When faced with the same, Americans gas up their cars and go shopping.

Gassing Up vs. The Monks

But Brian, those monks you seem to admire so much do not believe in the one and only True God, and for that reason, they are destined for Hell. Besides, the Bible is very clear about the need to obey one's earthly masters, and these monks are violating that Godly law.

On the other hand, those good Americans who are expressing their patriotism by gassing up their cars believe in our savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. They will be rewarded with eternal life for their righteousness and their adherence to God's commands.

bush thinks s-chip = socialism

"He cited that the program simply costs too much money"
The NPR or KPFK report I heard this am said Bush said he vetoed it bec it was federally sponsored health care....can't have that you know.

Insincere or a flip-flop
SCHIP is/was an initiative of G W Bush.  His supporters in the Congress approved it.  Has he changed his mind about its value or was this just a means of white-washing some of the faults of those Congresses?

[ Parent ]
Aw man...
That damn video just broke my heart. I started sniffling right here in the cube. I don't understand the sheer evil of Bush & Co. I can understand a lot of dark things - I get the psychology of a serial killer, that kind of thing. But evil motivated out of sheer, utter, unrepentant greed is just flat out beyond me. I make enough to get by, paycheck to paycheck, but I have no savings, no retirement. If I were to cover my 2 kids on my company's crappy health plan, I would pay $370 out of every paycheck. EVERY paycheck. I thank the gods that my ex is at least decent enough to put them on his plan, which costs $16 a month for the whole family. If I had to pay $740 a month? It'd be the choice between insuring them, and feeding them.

And how much are they paying BLACKWATER?

Scum.  This administration is the scum of the earth!

What about the children?  What about the children?

This f**ker DOES NOT care.  And he has no shame!

What is wrong with those cowards in the Congress...

Bush is leading the Democrats around by a collar.

Why are Pelosi, Clinton, Frank, Kennedy, Reid et al so afraid of this man? Pelosi has even tried to appease Bush by saying 'impeachment is off the table' Democrats promised to end the war but consistently vote to fund the war that’s murdered 650,000 Iraqis and over 4,000 GI's.  They voted to support the dismemberment of Iraq and to force Iraqis to hand over their oil facilities to US oil companies. They support the coming war against Iran.

Why are the Democrats afraid to impeach Bush and Cheney and convene an International War Crimes Tribunal?

Bush vetoes bills that would improve the lives of children, the elderly, students, union members, social security recipients; etc. Bush promises to veto ENDA and the hate crimes bill which are essential if we want to be first class citizens. Accommodatingly, the Democrats gutted ENDA and place the hate crimes bill as a rider on a war bill.

Why are the Democrats such cowards?  Why won’t they impeach Bush and Cheney?

The looter rich much prefer working with Democrats like Obama and the Clintons - they're greedier, they fool more people and they're able to get away with a lot more than Republicans.

The Simpler Explanation

Why do you think the Democrats are cowards? A senator like Feinstein is politically impregnable in her Senatorial seat, and yet she supports Bush over and over.

It would seem to me there is a much simpler explanation for this behavior that requires no head-scratching and wringing of hands on your part: They agree with Bush, and you have been misled about their beliefs.

HI Nel Bot

I completely empathize with your situation....and I think that most of what happens to our tax dollars is wasted and politicians are there to only serve themselves, not us. It's not their money, so what do they care?

As for Dark Rose, what has stoop labor got to do with being legal or illegal? When you are an unskilled person, with little education, it's not likely you're going to do much more than labor in that way. I've worked for WAY under minimum wage myself, and I've also worked in other countries as a guest worker.

Know what? When I didn't have the money to take care of a child, I didn't have one. And when I was a guest in someone else's country I left when I was obligated to and broke no laws.

When my husband and I needed help with work on our home, we hired young AMERICAN citizens and legal residents to work for us.  And these boys were all too eager to do 'the work Americans aren't willing to do.'

This country's economy should be able to get along without resorting back to virtual slave wages, and our country shouldn't enable other countries to exploit their people. Nor enable illegal aliens to exploit you and me.  I worked for the Los Angeles Police Dept here in the forensic photo unit, you have NO IDEA how bad it is, for the illegal aliens as well as this city in general because of overburdened public resources. A place can only take on so many people. Certain agribusinesses only hire so many people. Same for other industries. There's a limit to positions available to fill, and any big industry says they can't do it are only trying to figure out a way to gouge you.

Don't try it, I'll lay blame exactly where it belongs. There are governments South of our border that are  ungrateful to us AND their own citizens. They have no embarassment whatsoever that they have to exploit another country to survive, and their people are running away by the millions. And the people doing the running away, are getting no help whatsoever from their American brethren to fight back, just exploit people here.

For example, I have a cousin that lived in Mexico in five different regions to monitor the Democratic process there.  And guess what...the indifference, lack of demand for better from that government and other forms of apathy if not paranoia, is the reason why so many of these places are basket cases. They want to align themselves with the civil rights activity here...then they can take the same risks, show the same motivation and address the government that owes it to them with the fervor they show here, I'd be the first to get on board and help them.   But they aren't interested. They just want to bash us Americans who are fed up with their governments and our own.

The respective Presidents from Venezuela, China, Mexico and so on...show up here with their hands out making demands. When is OUR President going to tell them where to stick it and care for their own people? They aren't helping us in this war? Are they?
