The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Rev Lou Sheldon, channeling Fred Phelps

by: JulieWaters

Fri Oct 05, 2007 at 23:05:27 PM EDT

( - promoted by pam)

And I quote...
In an effort to gain passage of Barney Frank's Employment Non-Discrimination Act Of 2007 (ENDA), Rep. Pelosi has urged homo-transgender activists to bombard the offices of 50 Democrats who refuse to make cross-dressers, transsexuals, drag queens and she-males as federally-protected classes.
Yes. That's what he said. "Homo-transgender activists." But wait! There's more!
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has promised to unleash 700,000 homosexual-drag queen/she-male activists upon Congress during the next two weeks in order to gain passage of Frank's "gender identity"-inclusive version.
The letter also refers to Frank and Pelosi as "(D-MoveOn.org)"

I'll say this much for him: he knows his target audience.

But here's the thing...
JulieWaters :: Rev Lou Sheldon, channeling Fred Phelps
Sheldon's been pulling this sort of crap for a long time now-- to him, we're all freaks of nature who should be sent into a mental institution. Which, of course, in his world fits, because the DSM lists 30 deviances tied in with homosexuality. But what happens when you look at that list? It includes (and I quote again):
Apotemnophilia - sexual arousal associated with the stump(s) of an amputee... Telephone Scatalogia - sexual arousal associated with making or receiving obscene phone calls... Urophilia - sexual arousal associated with urine...
In other words, the "Reverend" Lou Sheldon makes a point of lumping all of his alleged "deviances" together as evidence about how deviant homosexuality is, and then justifying it by saying that homosexuality is deviant, therefore it's like these other sexual deviances.

I don't think I'd want to live in his brain. It's a scary, small, and disturbing place. I also suspect there's some mold.

But I digress... I posted this because, as far as the most virulent enemies of progress go, it doesn't matter whether we include transgenderism or not. We're all freakish she-male queer lesbian transvestite drag queen freaks of freakishness, out to freakishly destroy society. We're not human beings in his eyes. We're sick, diseased, filth and it's all the same to him.

In the meantime, we've got rational conservatives (Democrat and Republican) who are nervous about voting for ENDA because they're worried about backlash from people like Sheldon.

The backlash will be the same whether they support an ENDA with or without gender identity protections. We need to find ways to effectively communicate this to these legislators. I truly believe that if they're able to be educated about GLB issues, they can be educated about gender identity as well.

I just don't think that Barney Frank is the right person to be explaining this to them right now. It's just not something he seems to understand well enough to do the job and I'm not yet convinced that we have a strong ally for this perspective in the house.

That said, I think that once we can get people to make the leap to respecting people's right to be lesbian, gay or bi, it's not that hard a leap to convince them that gender identity is something they should learn to respect as well. My view is that most of this isn't so much them thinking "Oh, I'm okay with gay people, but those crazy trannies can go to hell." I think it's most of them just not even knowing what it's about and reacting with discomfort to things that are foreign to them (they're politicians-- it's their job to react with discomfort to foreign ideas) and worrying about the affect this will have on their political careers.

The former is just a matter of giving them the right sort of education. The latter is just showing them the letter from Lou Sheldon and saying "look, he's going to hate you no matter what you do if you support either of these bills. You might as well support the real one."

I think we've got a shot at making ENDA into something real and positive, even if it doesn't make it through this time around.

Hell, even losing the fight in a very public way is important, because one of our big enemies right now is that a lot of younger people don't realize that it's not illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.

Even losing this fight educates the public, especially if we lose it on the right battle.

I've been saying

I've been saying all over the internet where this has come up that we're going to lose this battle no matter what, because Bush will veto it, and we'll never be able to overturn it. Because of that, it's even more important that we get ENDA passed with the trans-protections included, because it will set a precedent for when we have a Democratic President.

Agreed!
Amen Brian!  I totally agree with you.  As for Lou Sheldon, I think senility is starting to set in with him anyway.  Andrea (his daughter) will start having to change his Depends for him any day now.

Good!

I'll be happy to send her a case of pepper sauce to sprinkle in the clean ones she puts on him!

It'll give him an idea of what's to come after he finally croaks.

Sheldon is a thousand times worse than Phelps...

...Their theology is identical, one just uses nasty words to descibe the object of his hate.

People think Phelps is a joke, pretty much because he is.  On the other hand, people take Sheldon seriously.  He is a thousand times more dangerous than Phelps.

...Their theology is identical, one just uses nasty words to descibe the object of his hate.
and one is from Kansas.

I thought that Barney Frank's point, in part,
was that we don't have "700,000 homosexual-drag queen/she-male activists".

Does Lou Sheldon know where we can find that many trans activists by the end of the weekend? Because that, my friends, is one party I'd want an invitation for.

And you hit an important point: A conspicuous loss on ENDA, as introduced in April or as presented for markup, is a teachable moment for the large numbers of Americans who aren't aware that in 31 states, the innocent words "My teacher is gay" can be someone's ticket to the unemployment office.

I'm often shocked by what straight people don't know.

But wait, there's more!

What a grat idea!
The 700,000 homosexual-drag queen/she-male activist march!

Call it
the "Million Tran March".

This idea is almost too good to not happen
Nobody add any more ideas, or I'm going to end up spending my vacation time in DC.

Pam thank you for sticking up for us
Eqaulity for all should be what people say, but apparently some people want to make Transgender folks second class citizens. I guess the deal they reached on passing this is sure we will give up our wedge issue just let us start attacking Transgenders now.

Pelosi

The Speaker made this very point at the HRC Gala tonight -- thery are going to attack any bill, trans-inclusive or not.

And I also agree that Barney is not the guy to be doing the lobbying on this; he's an ally but he's not comfortable with the concept and can't educate wavering colleagues. Tammy is much better, but possibly just not sufficient.

Dr. Dana

That's exactly the point Rep Frank made....

Because of that, it's even more important that we get ENDA passed with the trans-protections included, because it will set a precedent for when we have a Democratic President.

==============================

on Mike Signorile's show. That even though ENDA won't pass - it's important to get people on record voting for it as people don't change their votes backwards, you set a standard for the future and you get to identify who needs more education.

Unfortunately - he seems to think that strategy only works for the bill that leaves gender identity out.
