Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Ain't that America: noose mania

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Oct 10, 2007 at 21:00:00 PM EDT

I guess that whole Jena 6 fracas gave some sick people around the country license to pull the race-baiting nooses out of the closet.

* Hangman's noose found on NYC prof's door. Hundreds of Columbia University teachers and students voiced outrage Wednesday over a noose found hanging from a black professor's office door, while police investigated if it was the work of disgruntled students or a colleague.

The 4-foot-long twine noose was found Tuesday on Madonna Constantine's door at Teachers College, a graduate school of education affiliated with Columbia. At a raucous rally Wednesday, Constantine said it was a "blatant act of racism."

* Illinois: Noose, racist slur found by builders of suburban Home Depot.

and more...

* In July, a noose was left in the bag of a black Coast Guard cadet aboard a cutter. A noose was found in August on the office floor of a white officer who had been conducting race-relations training in response to the incident.

* In early September, a noose was discovered at the University of Maryland in a tree near a building that houses several black campus groups.

* On Sept. 29, a noose appeared in the locker room of the Hempstead, N.Y., police department, which recently touted its efforts to recruit minorities.

* On Oct. 2, a noose was seen hanging on a utility pole at the Anniston Army Depot in Alabama.

* Louisiana: Racial Tension at Local High School: Last week, a noose and a letter containing racial slurs were found inside a car at Northwood High School in Caddo Parish.

* North Carolina: four nooses were found hung from a tree at a school in High Point.

John Mellencamp recently angered the mayor of Jena, Louisiana for daring to record a song and video about the very matters that have spurred these noose enthusiasts to "make their feelings known" about race and the power to intimidate. Clearly the song is necessary. The video is after the jump.

An all white jury hides the executioner's face
See how we are, me and you?
Everyone here needs to know their place
Let's keep this blackbird hidden in the flue

Oh oh oh Jena
Oh oh oh Jena
Oh oh oh Jena
Take your nooses down

So what becomes of boys that cannot think straight
Particularly those with paper bag skin
Yes sir, no sir we'll wipe that smile right off your face
We've got our rules here and you must fit in

Oh oh oh Jena
Oh oh oh Jena
Oh oh oh Jena
Take your nooses down

Some day some way sanity will prevail
But who knows when that day might come
A shot in the dark, well it just might find its way
To the hearts of those that hold the keys to kingdom come

Oh oh oh Jena
Oh oh oh Jena
Oh oh oh Jena
Take those nooses down

Oh oh hey Jena
Oh oh Jena
Oh oh Jena
Take your nooses down

Take those nooses all down

Unfunny
After accounting for bad taste, edginess, and sarcasm, there are few things that are just never funny.  Nooses are one of them.

sickening, here are more
These are from the Pittsburgh area:
O'HARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A third possible incident of racial workplace intimidation in the Pittsburgh area this week was reported on Thursday morning.

Errol Madyun told WTAE Channel 4 Action News reporter Ari Hait that he found a noose on Wednesday at the construction site where he's working in O'Hara Township.

Madyun said the site had been great to work on, without even a hint of trouble, until this incident.

"It makes my blood boil," Madyun said. "Here it is, 2007, and you have so-called -- I wouldn't even call them human beings. Obviously, we have someone on our project that is a slimeball."

Madyun said there was also a noose waiting for another African-American man on the job site, and they both notified the job superintendent.

"Soon as you told him, he should've did something right away," Madyun said.

But Madyun said he and the other man who found a noose did not get the reaction they expected from the superintendent.

"He said it was a joke," Madyun said. "I don't see the humor in this. I think it is very, very serious."

Zambrano Corporation is the primary contractor on the site. They did not answer knocks on the door or return phone calls from Channel 4 Action News on Thursday morning.

Later Thursday morning, Zambrano's vice president of operations, Keith Smith, released this statement:

"Zambrano Corporation deplores these actions and is investigating this offensive conduct. We're taking immediate measures to stop any further incidents of this nature."

Madyun said he filed a report with O'Hara Township police and will keep the noose as evidence until he gets some answers.

On Wednesday, a woman who works at the Verizon facility in Warrendale told Channel 4 Action News that she received an inter-office envelope at her desk with a black doll inside, and the doll had the N-word and a threat written on it.

On Monday, a black baby doll with a racial epithet written on it was found hanging in a hallway at the Port Authority's work garage in East Liberty.

No arrests have been made in any of the three incidents.

There's a slightly off topic troubling occurrence I've noticed and wanted to talk about somewhere. Lately, I've seen the word "thug" making the rounds. I've heard it from white male television and radio pundits as they discuss black men involved in these incidents (specifically Jena).

This language gets picked up by racists.  After I posted on Jena, I had a visit from someone who threw "thug" around freely. It seems it's a racist's "safe" substitute for the n-word.

Electricity's for light bulbs!

We've REALLY
got to retire this noose thing, y'all.  If we dispense with one symbol of racism, let this be it.  It's done.

Generation Y - Wasn't around to personally Witness the Civil Rights Era of the 50s / 60s

IMHO I sense a trend of Racial Insensitivity from Generation Y, they don't know first hand how life was in the US during segregation. I hope I'm wrong on this, but nooses keep appearing throughout the US and in situations where folks >25 YO would normally be involved in. Will the Right Wingers task themselves to stop this backward behavior and spread the Words of Respect for Everyone? Probably not, they excel in attitudes that they are better than everyone else and creating environment of hate.

Kudos to John Mellencamp on the Song & Video!

Ross K. and I chatted today...

...about how cowardly most people are, but the noose recalls monstrous cowardice.  The noose reminds one of when several dozen or several hundred white people pounced on one or two black people.  Likewise, anyone who hangs a noose today and slips away is the true emotional descendent of those cowards.  The noose reminds all white folks and black folks of how cowardly many white folks once were and how cowardly many still are.
