Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Open thread - The official GOP Clown Car graphic

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Oct 16, 2007 at 17:00:00 PM EDT

I sent an email to Liss at Shakes Sis today, thanking her for the cool graphic that she whipped up for my "endorsement" from the Christian Civic League of Maine. I happened to mention to her that I was looking for an image to use for the Pam's House Blend 2008 GOP Clown Car. Lo and behold, this came in my inbox:

I didn't have room for Hunter, Keyes, and Tancredo, but I managed to fit the seven biggest clowns in the bunch: Rudy "Popo" Giuliani, Fred "Bobo" Thompson, Mitt "Dodo" Romney, Sam "Coco" Brownback, Mike "Hoho" Huckabee, Ron "RoPo" Paul, and John "Assho" McCain. Honk honk!

Chat away, it's an open thread. What are folks blogging about?

Hi Pam, We got our HRC magazine last night.  Yeahhh!

Also, was wondering if there are water shortages looming in your area.  I know Atlanta is having major drought problems and I heard it's into the Carolinas as well.  Just wondered how things are in the Raleigh/Durham area.

New topic...

I hope this is an okay place to bring up something I read in the newspaper today. Apparently there is a study in progress to try to identify genetic markers for homosexuality (male). The study includes 1000 pairs of brothers where both are gay, I believe, as well as pairs of brothers where one is gay and one is not.

The article discussed some of the problems that could arise if such a genetic marker were definitely identified, but they didn't mention this problem that occurred to me: if a genetic test could identify a probable homosexual male prenatally, would fundies suddenly favor abortion? This seems doubtful to me, so then it occurred to me that they might have their newborn males tested and if the marker showed up, they would have all sorts of "treatments" for the growing child in an effort to counteract what they feared might occur.

This seems to me a very horrifying possibility... what have others heard? What do you all think?

fundies most certainly do have abortions.
they just don't admit it.  so yeah, i'm sure some fundies would abort if they knew the kid would be gay.  on the other hand, i wouldn't get too worried just yet.  this is not the first study of it's kind.  others have at least let us know that there is not a single "gay gene".  it is much more complicated than that.  also, it seems that male homosexuality may not be controlled the same way as female.  so all this research is probably applicable to only the male population.  then there is the question of bisexuality, which these studies seem to ignore...

but of course the best thing to do to prepare for a time when some fetal test for gayness might be available is to advocate daily for LGBT people, and help us be as open and important in society as possible.
