Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Laugh of the day: Winger blog Red State bans Ron Paul supporters

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Oct 24, 2007 at 14:00:00 PM EDT

So much for free speech in the wingnutosphere (if it ever existed). Steve over at All Spin Zone found out that effective immediately, if any Republicans who are supporters of Ron Paul sign up at Red State, they are muzzled if they want to discuss Paul's candidacy. Red State's Leon Wolf, in a post titled "Attention, Ron Paul Supporters (Life is *REALLY* Not Fair).":
Effective immediately, new users may *not* shill for Ron Paul in any way shape, form or fashion. Not in comments, not in diaries, nada. If your account is less than 6 months old, you can talk about something else, you can participate in the other threads and be your zany libertarian self all you want, but you cannot pimp Ron Paul. Those with accounts more than six months old may proceed as normal.

Now, I could offer a long-winded explanation for *why* this new policy is being instituted, but I'm guessing that most of you can probably guess. Unless you lack the self-awareness to understand just how annoying, time-consuming, and bandwidth-wasting responding to the same idiotic arguments from a bunch of liberals pretending to be Republicans can be. Which, judging by your comment history, you really don't understand, so allow me to offer an alternate explanation: we are a bunch of fascists and we're upset that you've discovered where we keep the black helicopters, so we're silencing you in an attempt to keep you from warning the rest of your brethren so we can round you all up and send you to re-education camps all at once.
You have to read the rest. Oh my, I can barely contain myself from falling out of my chair because I'm laughing so hard. Steve at ASZ:
Even Republicans care about free speech when it is their own. What RedState has done here is offend some highly vocal Republicans. It won’t harm RedState one bit when they hear the whining and complaining from the Ron Paul supporters. But it will hurt the eventual Republican candidate in Fall ‘08, because some of those Ron Paul supporters will not be voting for the eventual Republican candidate, and none of those Ron Paul supporters will work for the eventual Republican candidate. RedState is pissing off the Libertarian wing of the Republican Party, the only wing of the Republican Party that acts like Republicans used to act, with care for balanced budgets, real moral values and sensible foreign policy ruled by facts, not Dick Cheney’s fantasies.

Irony
The irony! The ability of private industry to use their unfettered economic power to engage in tyranny against any less powerful tan they are is the very heart of Libertarianism. I certainly hope that Paul's supporters applaud this move as a perfect expression of their philosophy!

Thank you

Thanks Pam.  That made my afternoon.

Because I find it impossible to look away from train wrecks I nosed around Red State for a while.  Their posters are still trying to find that 'family values' candidate they started looking for in the 1980's - still haven't found one.  Wonder what that means??? Hmmm...

They're frozen in 1968 or 1972.
And for that reason they will fail, just as the Dems. frozen in the New Deal did.

Uh, what?

the Libertarian wing of the Republican Party, the only wing of the Republican Party that acts like Republicans used to act, with care for balanced budgets, real moral values and sensible foreign policy ruled by facts, not Dick Cheney’s fantasies.

Uh, what Libertarians has *he* been talking to?

Balanced  budgets at the cost of complete collapse of society into a moneyed minority and a slave class, "real moral values" that amount to the vast sum total of "bad things happen only to bad people.  If you're not rich, you deserve it", and a foreign policy ruled by completely different fantasies.

And, as a previous commenter points out, the use of monopolistic power to deny access to the disfavoured is *perfectly* in tune with Libertarian Party philosophy.

All that being said, I'm actually with Leon Wolf, on this one:  the Ron Paul sockpuppets add no signal, add a very great deal of noise, and drown out actual interesting discourse by endlessly repeating their debunked yammering and spamming the discourse with their fantasies.  Keeping them around is like endlessly needing to explain the same basic facts over and over to an unending stream of mass-produced identical Creationists when you're discussing biology.  Not only is it pointless and distracting, but it's fruitless, because they're SPAMMERS and SOCKPUPPETS.  They're not interested in listening to anything you say.  They're only interested in repeating their message over and over and over again as many times as possible.

Banning them is the only way to have a conversation, regardless of what topic they're weighing in on.

Yeah....

Yeah I mean, by your logic, we should just pack up all discourse and say "fuck it".  Pam should ban my ass for representing a 3rd of little L thinking.   Hell yes, I believe in a a balanced budget, a small government, and a military with a big stick that is willing to make vigorous use of afore mentioned big stick, should the need arise.

I'm glad to see that theoretical, albeit radical and 'outside the box' thinking has such an important place in your heart.

Now granted, I'm no Ron Paul guy.  I'm not even a Ron Paul supporter.  I'd take him over say a Romney or a Thompson, but I'm not going to go out there and become a Pauly.

But still, more troubling is the fact that in the minds of many left learners/right leaning knuckle draggers, the little L wing of the GOP is some sort of annoyance, whereas the vast majority of conservatives (myself included) find ourselves aligned to the libertarian framework, though to more common sense degrees.

-I believe in a small government

-I believe in a balanced budget

-I believe in having a big stick and having the willingness to occasionally make use of it.

-Surprisingly, the way I originally came to having a pro-LGBT bend, was the fact that based on simple libertarian principles, I simply never saw how anybody elses love life mattered to me in the least - let alone how it should matter to a state or federal government.

The problem is, though, Paul has become something of a symbol of a 'non-wingnut' conservative, and a plurality of non-rabid libertarian yet non-fundamentalist pyschopath conservatives have taken a liking to Paul.  It is understandable why the Christian Right lunatics beef with Paul supporters - as they represent a certain end to the Christian right's relevance.  But why would you really take issue it?

They admitted they are Nazis
Score!

<3 Sam

Ron Paul!

ROTFL! what else can you say?

Who likes libertarian

One one hand it does smack of cencership. Red State does have a right to moderate their site to their liking. In this case, keeping themselves in a conservative bubble.

Personally, I find libertarians scary. Glenn Reynolds and Megan McArdle are libertarians. They write the most batshit insane stuff. McArdle actually wrote that no Republican presidential candidate is espousing trickle-down economics. That's absolute bullshit.

Another laugh...

They've got this new cartoon up at Salon that's tailor-made for the Blend.  Check it:

Very Cute, Ross. Thanks.

It's His Sandbox...

First of all, "free speech" applies to government, not private people controlling their private property -- including their websites. "Private censorship" is an oxymoron.

Second, with all due respect (and in your case that's a lot of respect), you -- as a liberal blogger -- may not fully appreciate how out of control these Paulbearers (as I call them) have gotten on conservative and nonpartisan websites -- especially YouTube.

They are, almost universally, not engaging in reasoned commenting; they post canned placard slogans that are usually orthogonal to the original blogpost and, occasionally, totally nonsensical.

They are, in other words, spammers.

So, while no fan of RedState am I, I can feel their exasperation.

Cheers...

Paul posters are usually troll-like -
they can't post just once or twice, and then just leave it. And they blogswarm. I'd be inclined to ban them too after their first or second stupid post. Paul supporters who don't sound like clones - bring them on - post away.
