The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

'Ex-gay' McClurkin's alleged lover: I was with him after he prayed away the gay

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Oct 25, 2007 at 14:00:00 PM EDT

OMG. Looks like a bit of a PR problem... Journalist Clay Cane has an exclusive interview with an alleged former lover of recloseted homosexual anti-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin. Well, perhaps he isn't so "ex-gay", as the man alleges he had a sexual encounter with McClurkin long after he claimed to have prayed away the gay. Clay Cane:
In this revealing interview "Rob" details his relationship, or as he described, "roller coaster ride" with the “We Fall Down” hit maker from 2001 to 2004, which is ironically during the height of McClurkin's anti-gay rants and calls for conversion. How they met, his status in the gospel industry, their sex life, why he stayed and why they ended it. Plus, their last encounter in March 2007.

The full interview can not be made public, some things I had to leave out such as other artists in gospel who are gay, but have not made anti-gay rants and a relationship with an R&B legend who as, “Rob” said, married a “bisexual”, famous pastor. I only wanted to focus on the relationship with McClurkin and no one else. I am presenting a story for people to make up their own minds.

...How long were you guys being sexual?
Off and on for three years, 2001 to 2004.

During this time to 2001 to 2004 is really the height of his anti-gay rants. The book came out, he made comments, he told the New York Times in 2002 he’s counseling adolescent boys to convert them from homosexuality. Would you hear about these rants?
Every time I’d read an article in Ebony or Jet, or whatever, I’d just hear it—I’d get upset and we’d always have an argument about it. He said, “I told you.” I said, “It’s crazy. What you’re doing is crazy. You’re writing this stuff, but yet you’re still doing it.” I said, “I have a problem with that. What’s wrong with you?” He said, “I have a problem.”

What do you think he meant by “I have a problem”?
It’s something he just can’t control. He feels that he has to say that to please people. He said, “I don’t want people to believe that I’m still doing it.”

...Do you think being violently homophobic was the key to his success? There are so many gay people in the gospel music industry. Why did he have to be so—
So like he was?

Yeah—so like he is! Even right now…
It seems like every time he was attacked in the media, or word was getting around, it just seemed like it made him even madder. He had attacked gays, the lifestyle, when something was written about him—one lady wrote an article, “The Sins of Donnie McClurkin”, I mean, it was scathing. It’s since gone now, I tried to find it today and Keith Boykin, he’s written some things. Every time somebody would do that he would counterattack. The articles, the hearsay would make him just go crazy and he was not fun to be around. One time we met and it was him sitting in a bed Indian style and me sitting in the hotel chair looking at TV. No sex, no nothing…
There is so much more over at Clay's pad, including details about Donnie's "johnson," role playing, and who liked being the bottom. Uh oh.

I will say this for McClurken,
at least he's no Haggard.  The whole ex-gay thing is sadly twisted, but at least at it's core is an admission that one is gay. At least there's that, and also he hasn't dupe-married some poor women and endangered her with DL disease potential.  So here's another one of those people that I find equally tragic and repugnant.  Whatever Alan Sidden says at these concerts, it can only help to potential young McClurkins in the audience.  I hope.  Imagine even what more good some strong words from Obama could do...

He's lying?
No way!!! "Good" christians never lie.  Jesus wouldn't like it.  He evidently has his own reality.

Did anyone think this through???

Okay - we've heard a lot about how Obama's people did not do enough research before jumping on this tour.  Donnie - who has obviously spent a lot more time covering his tracks, really underestimated the gay press and blogosphere.  I was already to jump on the Barack bandwagon, was slightly turned off by his choice of company in this endeavor, but now just feel like he's surrounded himself with a bunch of idiots.  This should have been an easy project - get some big names in the Gospel music world that haven't made asses of themselves in the past.  If they can't pull off a couple of concerts, can they really run a campaign or eventually the country.

However, I'm also disturbed by how little response this has gotten from the other candidates.  Makes me think they'd all sell us out for a few votes.

Duh

"However, I'm also disturbed by how little response this has gotten from the other candidates.  Makes me think they'd all sell us out for a few votes."

That's a given.  Don't "think" they'd sell us out, you can pretty much believe they will.

A little blind optimism

You're probably right.  After 8 years of the repugnican'ts, and seeing them implode, I've let my optimistic side get way ahead of myself.

Regarding...

However, I'm also disturbed by how little response this has gotten from the other candidates.  Makes me think they'd all sell us out for a few votes.

...your second sentence, you're quite correct.  But regarding the first sentence, I am reminded of the adage (I don't know how old it is) that goes something along the lines of when your opponent is self-imploding, it's best to just let him continue.

umm
There is so much more over at Clay's pad, including details about Donnie's "johnson," role playing, and who liked being the bottom. Uh oh.

That's kinda a low blow for you Pam. I mean, I'd expect something like that from John Avarosis or someone, but you - seriously, do you think whether someone is on the top or bottom makes any difference as to how gay they are on the homometer?

As an aside, thank you for omitting the details - I really don't want to know about the sex life details of homophobes and ex-gays. Some of the visuals are just too hard to forget.

not a judgment

do you think whether someone is on the top or bottom makes any difference as to how gay they are on the homometer

No. I wasn't passing judgment, only reporting that the interviewee goes into that level of specificity. As you saw, I let folks click over for the gory details.

[ Parent ]
Not a low blow.
Donnie the one who made the low blow when he lied about be ex-gay to promote himself and tear down others.  Exposing the truth is not a low blow.  The truth will always come out.  Since when is the truth to be shilded away, is that what Jesus wanted?

It's not about the truth
It's perpetuating the myth that somehow being on top makes you less gay on the homometer than being on the bottom. It's something that's way too prevalent and way too sexist as well when the self-hating homos start feminizing people who are on the bottom as somehow gay and inferior.

i didn't read any top/bottom judgement in the post.
i took the "oh no" to mean there was some salacious stuff at the linked-to site.  (and there is)  you should read it, because i found it interesting in that Donney's putative ex-boyfriend is actually remarkably non-judgmental about him.  he's matter of fact about some details of the sex and how suited or not he was to it, but i read not one drop of negative judgment in there.  more like some surprise and consternation, but that's it.

exactly!

as lurid as it might be, the ex-lover's gotta expose something to speak truth to power. describing the size of his "johnson" is pretty damning. otherwise, the ex- will be dismissed as some "bitter old queen" that got dumped by a celebrity.

the whole thing is heartbreaking. so much talent that mc clurkin could be using to bridge the gap that obama claims he wants to bridge between the glbt community (particularly the glbt community of color) and the AA evangelical community.

tragically sad on many, many levels.

Bussee Is The Problem, Not McClurkin

I know some of you "ex-gay" apologists have your lips constantly puckered to kiss the asses of Alan Chambers, Randy Thomas, McClurkin and so forth, but instead of bothering with Obama and this Jesus-sucking idiot McClurkin, get to the root of the problem first:

Michael Bussee.  He's the one who invented the whole "I'm ex-gay now, so PAY MOI" thing.  The guy is responsible for hundreds upon thousands of GLBT suicides and deaths, and all he can do is self-congratulate himself for inventing the "ex gay" organizations.

If it wasn't for Bussee, there would be no McClurkin.

Scapegoating is fun and easy, but it's rarely accurate.
To blame all ex-gay failures on Michael Bussee is completely inaccurate and grossly uninformed.

Michael Bussee was among 60 people who created Exodus back in the 1970s; he was not the sole founder.  He also was the first high-profile ex-gay "failure" when he publicly left Exodus and married his partner Gary Cooper.

Since that time, he has been a constant, outspoken and vociferous critic of Exodus and its leadership, and I've read many of his comments on blogs like Ex-Gay Watch which clearly illustrate that.  People like Alan Chambers and Randy Thomas can't stand him, for obvious reasons.

In addition, Michael was one of a number of former ex-gay leaders who made public apologies for their actions at the recent Beyond Ex-Gay Conference held in Irvine earlier this year.  He's apologized long before this, but it was the right forum to do it again alongside other former leaders like himself who used to believe the ex-gay line but now see the harm in it:

http://www.beyondexg...

Finall, I don't know who the "ex-gays" are that you're speaking to here, but I would imagine most of them--with the exception of Porno Pete and a few others--don't frequent this blog at all.

[ Parent ]
Well..

Not for nothing, but when I was still inside the evangelical community (and not out yet), EVERYONE knew about Donnie McLurkin.  A lot of people would say, "hide your boys."

There's way more than just McClurkin mclurking in the closet in Christian music: pop, country, southern gospel and gospel/r&b.  The thing is, whether or not the churches will admit it, they know who they are.

confirmation of my growing distrust of Obama

I cannot support someone who during his time in the US Senate has failed to co-sponsor the Uniting American Families Act (s 1328) yet on the HRC questionnaire says that they support the Uniting American Families Act. (can we say pandering hypocrite?)  Further, having heard that an anti-gay minister has been included in Mr Obama's gospel tour confirms my growing distrust of Obama. (hypocrite in the company of hypocrites)

How can Mr Obama of all people not understand that separate but equal (as the Mass Supreme Court said) is inherently unequal?  As Martin Luther King Jr said, inequality anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

"In a statement, Obama said he believes gays and lesbians are 'our brothers and sisters' and should be afforded the same respect, dignity and rights granted all other citizens." I've heard him say regarding S. 1328 that he as concerns about fraud. So are LGBT Americans more apt to commit fraud than hetero Americans? Addressing fraud is a different issue. Thousands of Americans are living in Exile because this country will not allow them to stay in here with their partner. The UAFA would add the phrase "or permanent partner" where ever spouse is used in the Immigration laws.  This would give LGBT Americans a seat at the table - a seat that is currently denied. The right every other American has to petition - to allow the trained investigators of the Department of Homeland security to investigate the legitimacy of the relationship – as they currently do with all marriage VISA / greencard petitions.

When Banks get robbed, you don't close the bank, or deny access to banking services to random groups of people.  You impliment security measures. Fraud cannot not be a legitimate reason to deny Americans equal rights. This "fraud argument" is the same twisted type of logic used by Bush to shred the constitution.

I appreciate much of what Mr Obama has to say, but I cannot support someone who propagates injustice and intolerance and inequality.

Respectfully,

Michael Lim, RPh
