The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend: "a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."
He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior."
(CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)
Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).
"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:
A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist." (Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)
"A nutty lesbian blogger." (MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)
Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Lots going on with ENDA today as the House is voting; I'm unfortunately going to be offline for several hours while I'm flying to Las Vegas for BlogWorld, but the Blender crew will keep the information coming.
As of 3:15 PM ET:
* Chris Johnson of HRC Back Story reports that the latest parliamentary maneuvers by Republicans to stop debate, a motion to adjourn, has failed, 164-254. There's a media advisory from the Speaker's office about a press conference after the vote and news will probably break quickly.
* Mike Signorile plans to have NY Congressman Jerry Nadler on his radio show today. Nadler -- a strong supporter of LGBT equality -- will explain why he will not vote ‘yes’ on the trans-exclusive bill. If he votes no on the trans-free ENDA, Nadler is going to get a black mark on his HRC scorecard for that vote. (Mike asked Joe Solmonese about that yesterday in his interview).
* Jeremy of Good As You is posting audio of the ENDA debate in the House. He has Barney Frank's and Jerry Nadler's statements.
* Watch and read if you can take it: video of Barney Frank from the House floor (via The Gavel):
“When people who are opposed to the basic bill and opposed to the amendment, lament the chance not to vote on an amendment which would undermine the bill, people should understand where we are. I filed the bill that included people who are transgendered. Earlier this year, I was very proud when this House passed a Hate Crimes bill that included transgender… The question we have is this: if we do not have the votes to go forward with as much as we would like to do, do we then abandon any effort, and do we allow those who are opposed to any progress at all in the anti-discrimination fight in this area to use a particular group as a way to prevent progress?”
* It's likely that Tammy Baldwin will pull her amendment rather than it be defeated, as was reported earlier.

Quite frankly, regardless of the outcome, the big picture is that this entire situation is a complete embarrassing mess of mixed messages and motives, inadequate preparation, poor PR strategy, and a hell of a lot of anger and vitriol that is damaging, painful and was this amateur hour was avoidable. One can only hope that whatever tattered relationships remain can be stitched together in some form or fashion, because there's more legislation and lobbying coming down the pike. Our community, for whatever that word means at this moment, needs to find a better way of doing things.
